  1. Then why do most f the major stat sites feature total qbr now? Pfr and espn all feature it. It is part of the statistical landscape now, for real.
  2. It is most definitely factored into total qbr, and thus a real stat for many. Check it out: http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/6833215/explaining-statistics-total-quarterback-rating
  3. Huh? Please explain your logic. It makes no sense to me. It seems pretty obvious that one could adjust the completion percentage by including passes dropped that should have been caught. It is actually factored into the newer total qbr rating, the ooint being to provide a more accurate and true measure of the qb's performance. All the qb can do is deliver the ball; if a good throw is dropped, he shouldn't be assigned blame for it.
  4. Not a perfect throw, but it was certainly an easy catch for an allegedly top-shelf TE. That catch gets made by the Greg Olsens of the world. Clay is a solid player, though, and I'm willing to give him a mulligan for this game.
  5. No, it's actually a real stat that makes a ton of sense if you look.
  6. You're barking up the wrong tree, I fear.
  7. "It's never been easy ...." Please. Many of the posters on this board have been here 15 plus years, and we have all bitched about terrible qb play. Taylor is not elite. No one here thinks he is, and suggesting otherwise is a straw-man argument. But he is the best qb they've had since Flutie. He's a legit NFL starter who had a good game yesterday against a team with a strong front 7 and one elite-looking safety (Adams). Let's see how he does next week against a better team on the road, but raining on the parade after an objectively good performance is foolish.
  8. Pretty much every non-bills fan who has analyzed the game (ie, pff, nfl network) says he played well. Check out some of the other qb play today. Most of it was terrible.
  9. My god. The jets had 214 yards, 3.9 ypp, and a 56.2 passer rating. Focus on the postive. Dareus was fine. He was totally stout on running plays.
  10. Doesn't address the point. 17 x 2 = 34. 17 is what he led them too in the first half. I suggest watching it on tv - a lot of stuff is viewable on tv that isn't in the stadium.
  11. The jets' front seven is excellent and played well. I was very impressed by Adams too. The team overall is terrible.
  12. Please. Clay drops a td and Hauschka shanks an easy one. Should have been 17-6 at halftime, yet somehow it's taylor's fault.
  13. FFS -- christ, every great receiver in the league occasionally drops a pass.
  14. And the extent they told him to avoid sacks and get rid of it quickly.
  15. Gerry-- no offense, but i think you're nuts on this one. He had a good game.
  16. Tired. They are a competent team with him and a glorified Big 10 team stuck in an NFL nightmare without him. Piece of advice--give up the schtick. It's weak and diminishes your many other good takes.
  17. Evidence? I certainly didn't see that and i watched closely. By my count, he led them to 31 points (undercut by clay's bad drop and the shank by hauschka).
  18. Constant 2-3 step drops lead to ... Mccown. Counting the sack of mccown, the jets averaged 4.5 yards per pass play. That is terrible. The bills averaged over 7 yards per pass play.
  19. Man, not every throw is 100 percent perfect. That throw was absoeffinglutely good enough and should have been caught by a $6 million per year TE.
  20. 100 percent correct, john. That is usually a pretty easy catch for most players.
  21. You're wrong, i think. Marrone is not likable, but he is a good football coach.
  22. Horrible flag on jenkins.
  23. Oh man, it was freaking close enough despite not being 100 percent on target. Bottom line - that has to be caught. I don't category three actually exists. Maybe his family members, but they don't count.
  24. +1. He played well and worked the middle of the field well too. Clay had three drops. Yes. It was an absolutely fine throw that good players pretty much always catch. Clay is actually decent, but made a bad play there. A lot more throws down the middle. He basically delivered.
  25. Agreed about rosen up to a point. Darnold is more physically talented, but it is such a mental game. Both are terrific.
