  1. Lynch rushes for 1500+ yards, 12 Rush TDs, with another 400 receiving and 3 rec TDs
  2. Totally agree on almost all your points. I DO wish we had better depth on the OLine, especially at T
  3. The list seems more like a popularity contest than a talent evaluator. That being said. I don't think I would add anyone else on our team to the list. We have several guys I would put in top 5 at their position, but 22 real positions (I don't count ST), 50 players total, doesnt really leave a lot of room for guys beyond 3 at their position.
  4. Which NFL mascot is more fierce? 52% Poe 48% Billy Buffalo Total Votes: 38928 If we lose this, Willis wins. Everyone vote
  5. Honor, accountability and responsibility are for sale in today's world as long as you have enough money. That's simply a fact. People get away with things because they have money. Kids aren't looking to become famous so the rules won't apply to them anymore, but they need to be more realistic about how life works out. Basically, you have a choice, like all other situations in life, to teach kids an object lesson when you see things like this happen. Life is not fair. Good guys don't always win. Do I think Marshawn hit the girl, knew he hit her and didn't care? No. Frankly, I don't really care. If your kid is busy copying EVERY action of his heroes, then I suggest you spend more time with your kids, cause it would take a pretty dumb kid to aspire to the errors in other's lives.
  6. I figured you would be of that mind, which is why I KIND of agree. If your kid idolizes a moron, it's your job to tell him to look up to someone else, not the moron's job to live up to your kid's expectations. How about we teach our kids too personally admire people like teachers, people who deserve their acclaim. Athletes are commodities and we need to stop idolizing them like they are bigger than life. Teach your kids to aspire to the job, not the person occupying the job at the time.
  7. I kind of agree. These guys aren't my heroes or my friends. I don't care what they do as long as they show up on Sunday. If their stupidity causes them to miss games, then I have a problem with them. Don't romanticize the notion of being a fan and pretend like we all have personal investments in these guys. If a player plays well and happens to be a nice guy, then they'll probably be one of the guys I root for a little harder and I might buy their jersey. For those who act poorly, I'll still cheer for them when they play well and remain nonplussed otherwise. I assume that all of you out there who have ripped on Marshawn and Hardy all offseason will still cheer when they score a TD. I would venture to say you might even learn not to personally hate them nearly as much anymore if they score enough. Sports stars don't have an obligation to be model citizens or good role models. They owe no greater responsibility to the public. They do their jobs and get paid for it. If some people want to put them on pedestals and then get heartbroken when they are human, that's your fault.
  8. Russert was amazing, this is a terrible loss. He spoke at my undergrad graduation and I loved every minute of it.
  9. I suggest we switch this to a question of who will win the #2 spot, Hamdan or Losman. I have broken it all down for you according to my own very specific set of criteria: Facial Hair: Hamdan: well-trimmed, very presentable Losman: looks like an early 80s porn star Advantage: Hamdan Better Photshopped Picture: Hamdan:http://buffalowdown.com/2008/05/27/bills-third-string-qb-best-arab-american-athlete/ Losman: http://data2.blog.de/media/715/1002715_a4c3365c89_m.jpeg Advantage: Losman Identifying Trademark: Hamdan: Oozes with Chroise Losman: The high-pitched voice of an adolescent girl (only useful if attempting to woo Travis Henry) Advantage: Hamdan The numbers don't lie: Hamdan 2 Losman 1
  10. I like it, loaded fast and it's less filling.
  11. Just an observation, but I think Shawn Kemp has enough children to fill out BOTH teams.
  12. In a truly fair competition Hamdan would beat out Tom Brady, hands down. The league just isn't ready for a great Arab-American QB. He's only 3rd string because Homeland Security refuses to allow him to be any higher on the depth chart. In a similar vein, the DHS has also commanded that any pass Hamdan throws that is deep downfield must be referred to as a Liberty-pass, or a Freedom-pass, not a bomb, just to assuage the masses.
  13. Im registered. I want Benson in the 1st rd, I call dibs.
  14. I'm not faulting you for your views. I personally would just shut up as long as possible. If your friend puts you in a situation where you're getting charged with obstruction, then he's not too good a friend. But until that point, you follow their lawyer's gameplan and clam up until forced to talk.
  15. Doesn't seem extreme for Buffalo's police force, who impounded another one of Lynch's cars that he loaned to a relative for a TRAFFIC VIOLATION. Several weeks ago Lynch and his family had to have a "clear the air" meeting with local police because he made complaints he was being treated unfairly. Am I surprised they are now blowing this way out of proportion? No. This was all in an article on yesterdays front page here. "most of us would have cooperated with police even if we left the scene of the accident. Which reminds me, when they picked up ML's car from his driveway, why didn't they kick down the door and drag him downtown for a bloodtest and questioning ? I thought leaving the scene of an accident, hit and run were felonies ? And if there not, they should be." Things that nauseate me about this post: 1- The speed with which you would sell out your own friends. I certainly hope you have none who trust you. Though, if your personality here is any indication of how you act in real life, you probably don't. 2- Your apparent willingness for police to kick in doors at random and take people out of their homes. I do believe you made a joke about Nazi cops in another thread. Now, you advocate SS/Gestapo-like tactics in dealing with a MISDEMEANOR. People like you are why the government is now listening to our phone conversations sans warrants.
  16. Would you be calling him a ghetto punk if he were white and poor? I suspect the comments about racism playing a role here hit a little closer to their mark than expected.
  17. I would probably respect your posts more if: 1) they followed a logical train of thought, rather than spewing feelings and accusations; 2) you quit butchering the English language. I mean come on, I understand a typo here and there, but you actually appear to be ignorant of the rules of grammar or spelling. How am I supposed to take your "well-thought" opinions seriously when it sounds like they're being written by a 10 year old. In short, your argument is petty, but wrapped in a veneer of self-righteous outrage; kind of like putting a bow-tie on a turd.
  18. By ignoring perception, you are making the inference that an entire people group's cultural values are invalid. The issue here was Marshawn's likely inherent mistrust of the police and your failure to take it into account before you tried and convicted him in the court of public opinion. I wouldn't go as far as disqualifying an entire people group from a discussion, unless that group consists of you and Fan in San Diego. In that particular case I'll make an exception and say you should be excluded.
  19. I think we should make a chroise t-shirt, sign it and send to to Gibran like kids do for counselors at summer camp. This would only increase his chroise
  20. At the time of writing this post, were you drinking? Let's focus on YOUR lack of regard for the English language. This, I refuse to be flippant about.
  21. I like how the standard answer when someone get's cut is "he sucked in _______, why would we sign him?" Does this not seem a LITTLE extreme? He's 6'6 and runs like a mid 4.3. The argument against him playing TE after college was, why add 30 lbs and play with average speed when he's so big and could excel outside. I think that argument is out the window. The problem I have with the guy is he doesn't have good hands. He played QB in college so there's really nothing leading me to believe he can block, so unless he learns to catch soon I see him as a 4th-5th receiver at best.
  22. Now the real question is, when are you all going to apologize when it all comes out that he was not driving. I demand an apology when we find this out since you all felt it necessary to shoot off your mouths
  23. Thank you for posting my sentiments exactly
  24. Then you are just the bestest boy on the block. Give this man a cookie. This could have been posted in one of the other million threads about this. But no, you decided to start your own self-important thread extolling the virtues of your own character. Give me a break. You're all entitled to your opinion. But there is a HUGE difference between posting constructive comments and grandstanding to show everyone how virtuous you are, making the whole thing about you.
