  1. I gotta say, loved the 1st 2 picks, 3rd was ok. I am nonplussed by the rest though.
  2. Bell Exciting raw talent with the size, athletic ability and rapid improvement to warrant the patience needed for development. Signed with Northwestern State on a basketball scholarship and has only played organized football since 2005. Originally played defensive end, but was quickly switched to left tackle and has developed into an All-American honoree. Raw as they come, but scouts love his upside.
  3. Mike Hart and Hillis are there and we take Omon. I hate that
  4. Mayock talking about the Jet's pick and said that Derek Fine was a good receiver and swallowed up all their underneath passes. Encouraging I should explain, the Jets took a Kansas WR and Mayock stated that he didn't get to see him catching anything underneath cause Fine caught everything there. Sounds like a nice safety blanket
  5. Agreed. While I think we really need to upgrade C and draft a FB, I am now ok with our picks so far. I panicked for a minute there
  6. Bowen is projected to maybe play SS in the pros. I guess that would make all the chatter about wanting to move Whitner to FS true. I still wouldnt mind him at OLB if he gained 10 lbs "Despite lacking the bulk you expect from a linebacker, Bowen has developed into a tackling machine. He led the nation in solo tackles (95) and tackles per game (12.92) as a junior and was the team leader in both categories in his two years starting for the Cyclones. Because of his pass coverage ability and range, Bowen is also being eyed as a possible strong safety prospect by professional teams. Opposing coaches in the Big 12 Conference praised his loose hips and ability to get good depth in his pass drops, as they labeled him the pass coverage linebacker in the league." 95 solo tackles is hard to sneeze at
  7. Corner isn't random, NFLN said he was excellent value in the 4th and a very good corner
  8. OK Mayock likes our picks. I'm happy: "solid draft" Reggie Corner is a good value they said
  9. Mayock is talking about him at length, he likes him but says he needs discipline
  10. Who the hell is Alvin Bowen????
  11. back to back commercial on the NFLN just to make sure they miss our pick
  12. Detroit just took a FB, I hope we take the hint
  13. NFLN is making an argument for why you stockpile DBs, didnt make a lot of sense though. Jamie Dukes is still acting like a moron
  14. Same guys I wanted 2 picks ago: Sullivan or Schmitt
  15. NOT pleased wit the last 2 picks. It feels like we are drafting for special teams as well
  16. Height: 6'3" Weight: 245 College: Kansas Hybrid fullback/tight ends/H-backs are underappreciated players in today's NFL offenses. A guy who can pick up blitzes, chip on defensive ends, cancel linebackers at the second level and move the chains (46 receptions, 394 yards, four touchdowns in '07) in the passing game is very valuable. Fine has the ability to be just that type of player, and will likely be selected earlier than most expect. He should also be a contributor on special teams coverage units as he did at Kansas. Expected size for "moving" tight end/fullback. ... Excellent effort and upper body flexibility to block defensive ends or linebackers on the run. ... Very good receiver who runs precise routes and does not drop many balls. ... Reliable, tough, hard-working character guy. ... Good effort and open-field tackling ability on special teams.
