  1. Since you felt the need to point me out by name, I will respond. I am glad Rex is gone. I wasn't one of the people lobbying hard for his firing for the weeks leading up to the event, but I'm happy with it. I probably would have been moderately annoyed, but just fine with us keeping him had they gone in that direction. I have no crusade against Rex. I AM quite tired of seeing you pop up in every single thread and turning things into you moaning about how he's gone and your feelings about it. Seriously, if there were a thread about milkshakes, your response would be "I bet you guys are happy Rex can't have milkshakes here anymore. Hope you're happy." Thread about Offensive Coordinators? "We wouldn't need a new OC if Rex were still here, you guys got what you wanted." It's old and it distracts from threads, please stop it. You pop up in here saying you aren't on a crusade because you never started a thread on the subject. Sorry, but that flies in the face of your posts here for the last 2 weeks and I'm going to call you on it.
  2. Yeah I'm not saying I don't like him. I quite literally know nothing about him other than what was posted in this very thread. I was just responding to a commenter complaining about the negativity. Most likely. At the very least the people in the building KNOW who the next OC is, otherwise it makes absolutely NO sense why we'd be hiring offensive assistants without the input of the OC. Where the heck is Leroi when you need him?!
  3. The guy was most recently on a staff people don't respect working under an OC who people REALLY don't want to see here. Our last RB coach is now the HC of the Chargers, it seems like quite a dropoff
  4. Why are you posting stats in a thread about hot sauce?
  5. If you want green hot sauce try picamas
  6. Come on, you know better than this. You have hijacked entire threads on your crusade. Not starting a thread on the matter doesn't absolve you of the million "hope you are all happy Rex is gone, you guys got what you wanted" posts you make in threads of any topic.
  7. Come on guys. This has been misrepresented in every single hiring thread and corrected in every single one. The NFL has 2 classifications for coaches: head and assistant. Coordinator positions are not a promotion by that rule. If a coach is under contract as an assistant they can be blocked from taking a coordinator position because it is considered a lateral move. "Assistant Head Coach" is still considered an assistant and is not a workaround to the rule.
  8. Franks is underrated on eggs, it adds more flavor than heat. I would go Franks on regular scrambled eggs and Tabasco on an omelette. If you have access to Cholula available I would recommend it over both in both instances/
  9. So anyway, about the actual topic: it looks like the interview is today. It is my sincere hope we don't hire this guy. If we do itll kill most of the good will I have left for this team.
  10. Perhaps. The fact that Bortles didn't seem to progress as a QB under Olson is a concern to me though. He was the 3rd pick in the draft and one would assume if we don't go with Tyrod we will similarly be starting a high draft pick. A bit disheartening to see he couldn't make it work with him.
  11. Feel free to mischaracterize what I said. I said that my observation of his playcalling last season was that it was predictable. Google his name and predictable if you want to confirm if this has been an issue for him at his various stops. There is not ground to make up. I don't think he will be good based on my observation and opinion. You are free to disagree with my opinion. However, if you feel the need to keep telling me I am seeing things incorrectly and my opinion is not valid, perhaps it would be best for you to PM me and not derail the thread with constant comments on how you think my conclusion is wrong? This is after all, a thread for discussing the relative merits of Olson as an OC. If your input to the discussion is simply "prove it" and then "prove it more", I suspect you will be predictably disappointed.
  12. I don't understand what it will take for you guys to understand he's not coming. He has said he's staying in LA multiple times over the past few days
  13. That was my point. Kelly is a far more competent offensive mind than the guys we're currently looking at.
  14. It must be nice to "win" all discussion points with one-liners that don't actually address the issue. Cool beans
  15. I can't remember the interview, so I would appreciate it if someone could help me out with a link, but I do recall him being asked a question about his staff. His answer was something to the effect that he has a notebook that he kept updating with people he thought would be good fits at different staff positions. I would hope that his list for OC is slightly more extensive than just McCoy, but you have to wonder just how much wind it took out of his sails when McCoy went to Denver. If he doesn't have GOOD second, third and fourth options in that little notebook it should be a cause for concern. Interesting. So the same "predictable" complaint about him that has plagued him over and over in various coordinator jobs he's had is really all the QB's faults? Must be nice to always have an excuse lined up. Sounds like he wasn't privy to what decisions were being made on plays he called.
  16. Also, this. Which would be if you were referring to a position group
  17. Please. There is ZERO chance of this actually happening. Let's let it die.
  18. We just drafted a QB last year. I don't understand why we draft someone this year to act as an understudy again. If you draft a QB you need a low cost veteran backup and Cardale can be 3rd string. I fail to see the logic behind 2 QBs sitting on the bench "learning" from someone who doesn't play like a prototypical QB.
  19. I would second the first part. Reuben Foster is a beast and makes everyone around him better. If he's not there I take Hooker or Peppers, there are a lot of good WRs
  20. He would have had to have been checking out of every single play in order for this to be a valid argument.
  21. Unimaginative. I only watched a few games but even then you could see how they lined up, look at the down and distance and probably predict what the playcall was about 3 times out of 4.
