  1. Playoffs were done when we lost to the Jets. Im all for seeing what we got in the Rook. Peterman has shown more potential in some preseason games than tyrod has in 2-3 years with us. We know Tyrods Top (280 yards 2 Td's and bottom 68 yards 0TD's), lets see what Peterman can do prior to next years draft and minicamps. Last time he started it was atrocious, but my gut tells me he can be good if he shakes the jitters and gets into the flow of the game. When i watched him play in preseason, he reminded me of Romo in how he played.
  2. If our plan is to let Gilmore walk, (most likely resulting in a 3rd round compensatory pick in 2018) why not tag him.with the more affordable transition Tage and trade him for a 1st or 2nd round pick this year? Similar to what we did with Peerless Price years ago.
  3. 1) Pay Tyrod, we have no other alternative better than him. He was throwing to Scrubs last year...If he is average, he is tradeable on the 2nd year of the deal 2) Let Gilmore walk. I've seen CB greats come and go on the Bills, from Winfield, Clements, McGee, Greer etc. One thing they all did Better than Gilmore is tackle. I've never seen as fundamentally a poor tackler as him get paid elite corner money. Head down shoulder tackles with no wrap up don't work in the NFL. Kevon Seymour can step up (extend him early Eagles style). 3) We need 2 WR's, One in top 2 rounds of the Draft (I like Mike Williams of Clemson the best, pure hands catcher and attacks the football), and one 2nd tier Free Agent. How do you properly evaluate your QB with street free agent scrubs? 4) Let Rob Woods walk, he disappears for months at a time (I don't event want him back for cheap) 5) Pray Aaron Williams recovers, Defense has gone in the shitter consecutive years as soon as he gets hurt. He's the heart and soul of the Defense IMO. 6) Draft a QB round 1 or 2 depending where the value is at WR or QB when time to pick. I like Trubisky the best of the Bunch. Reminds me of Bledsoe/Rivers 7) Dareus needs a full time life coach/personal trainer/personal chef (similar to Dez Bryant in Dallas). He's paid as the franchise player, time to act like one (you aren't 23 anymore) 8) Lets bring back our bread and butter pressure 4-3 Defense. D-Line played contain no pressure way too much last year. We need to dictate, especially at home with the crowd roaring. Thoughts?
  4. I would Take Fred Jackson any day. A step slower the guy is better than any RB on the roster besides Shady McCoy. Keeping Boobie Dixon last year over Freddie Jackson last year was a total Head Scratcher. What the Hell was Rex and Whaley thinking? "Friend"
  5. If I have to pay more than 7 Million per year which all indicators point to it being way higher than that, I let him walk....Remember he was a nobody prior to playing alongside the 3 best DL in the League. You put him on an average D-line where he is the focal point of the offensive blocking schemes he'll disappear for 3 games at a time. He doesnt have the size and strength to disrupt on his own. As part of our system with 2-3 other guys drawing double teams on any given play and him being a speed demon, he fits in very well, and i'm sure he as a player understands this. If he wants success he stays with us, if he wants money, he leaves.
  6. In relation to Schwartz, Rex just want to Win, I cant see a switch to 3-4 happening immediately(If we do, B Spikes will be resigned immediately), wasn't Rex a big proponent of the 4-6 defense? We have the Talent to run that. With our D being as dominant as they were, I cant see them forcing a D change
  7. Patriots have 4 running backs better than CJ Spiller...And we have 3.
  8. He traded Kelvin Sheppard for Jerry Hughes, a huge win in our case. Getting Jairus Byrd to report for 1st Franchise Tag I'm pretty sure we had to agree it wouldnt be used a 2nd time.
  9. At least our analytics department calls for punting from the 45 down by 2 scores with 7 minutes left.
  10. I think he'll be our Franchise QB next year and a replacement for our 1st round pick we traded.
  11. CJ cant pass protect...Do you watch the games? Fred is a bull dozer for incoming Blitzers http://twitpic.com/ec8270 Being that Chan "figured out" how to use CJ, shouldnt the blueprint be sitting in the game tape from 2012 for Hackett to watch and reuse the figured out usage of CJ?
  12. I've been watching Spiller run now for 4 seasons, while simultaneously watching Fredex run the ball. Fred Jackson consistently gets positive yards almost NEVER yielding a loss of 2 or 3 which CJ is notorious for. Like Chan Gailey until Marrone realizes that Spiller is an excellent change of pace back, and Jackson needs to be the featured back, our offense will be sputtering. When Fred is on the field, we tend to move the chains a lot easier, when CJ is on the field, it leads to punts. Freddy needs to be getting the Ball 60% of the time, Spiller 30% of the time, but also lined up in the slot on passing plays, and Boobie Dixon on select Goal Line/SHort Yardage carries. This formula leads us to a better offense IMO. Doug You out there? Chan Gailey found great success after realizing Spiller would never be a feature back, and inserting Fred into the line up.
  13. Chan had a way of turning NOBODY's into SOMEBODY's. Fitz, Stevie, Freddie, Donald Jones, David Nelson, Scott Chandler etc...
  14. To Nate Hackett's Credit, with the Defense playing 8 in the box and drilling everybody who caught the ball under 10 yards, the best way to beat that is to send a couple guys deep and have the QB connect while his WR's are single covered, just like Rivers did to us. On the otherhand, seeing EJ struggle, Hackett needs to bring some 10-15 yard routes back into the mix, and in the middle of the field where EJ seems to see open WR's the best. A good Coordinator can design the offense around the strengths of their QB and hide their weaknesses, look back at the JETS with Sanchez, and the Broncos with Tebow. If you take away EJ's draft status, and look at him from pure production, He's a bottom 5 QB right now...Could he improve to be a top 20 QB, possibly, but I don't see any elite qualities in him. to make him a top 10 guy. Also i forgot to note, Gilmore is our 2nd/3rd best corner right now. Graham is our best, hes a gamer.
  15. Ive been to almost all of EJ Manuel's home games as a Buffalo Bill, live sitting on the 30 yard line. Yesterdays game was a prime example of Who EJ is as a QB. They fell behind by two scores early, unable to Hide EJ's deficiency as an NFL QB with a smash mouth run game, supplemented with play action and an occasional deep ball. From my eye, receivers were open many a times. Chandler was open two separate times, both for touchdowns, and Rob Woods was open on several plays. Granted he was facing a decent rush, but thats mostly due in part to SD having no respect for the deep ball... SD played 1 safety deep most of the game having 8 men in the box for most of the 2nd half. It got to the point where it was embarrassing, there were no players playing deeper than 10 yards off the line of scrimmage when SD was on DEF, essentially playing the "We'll force EJ to beat us" Defense which worked admirably. Most teams will continue this trend against us until EJ can let the ball rip, and let it rip accurately. WR's playing half ass, not seeing the ball, and playing alligator arms on balls thrown to them were from them being disinterested and uninvolved in the offense with EJ's inability to complete a pass deeper than 10 yards, outside the middle of the field. Scott Chandler seemed visibly frustrated on numerous plays where he was wide open with his hand waving in the air, and EJ simply wouldnt see him. EJ is a 1 or 2 read QB, if his 1st couple options arent open, everybody else is running decoy routes for nothing. The few times WR's ran go routes successfully, EJ would grossly overthrow them, or as u saw once in the end zone almost throw a pick where Watkins has to turn into the defender. After Goodwin ran the crossing route and EJ threw the ball 4 feet behind him and Goodwin actually TRIED to make the play and was nearly killed from it, I think most of the WR's like Watkins packed it in and wanted to come out of the game healthy. Other random observations, when Searcy got hurt and Duke Williams came in, he was the source of a lot of miscommunications and visible frustration from Aaron Williams on the field pre-snap. Aaron Williams was lining everybody up pre-snap in the secondary to the best of his ability but with obvious frustration. Credit goes to Rivers for running multiple guys in motion on almost every play causing a lot of confusion for our D. Our 4 man rush was largely ineffective against what looked to be their Massive O-Line, unlike the Miami game where there was a big push and Penetration on most plays, against the SD O-Line, there was NO push at all. Both of the SD OT's were massive Buffalo's Def strategy which in essence sort of worked (holding the offense to 20pts) was to shut down the run (which they did) and take Gates out of the game (which they did). However the weakness in that scenario was single coverage on 6'4" receivers deep with Rivers precision deep passing. Watching Rivers throw a deep ball on the money every single time, and watching EJ who almost never connects deep are night and day. One Bonehead play on Marrone's part which i didnt hear anyone question him for his decision was when it was 4th and 5 and we were punting, we drew SD offsides for a 5 yard penalty around midfield giving us 4th and short when we were already down double digits, why not take that and run a FB blast up the middle for 10 inches, vs assessing the 2nd penalty which was holding on the return which moved the SD offense backwards after the punt return??? Overall the Defense struggled early, but made the necessary corrections and tightened up the leaks forcing punts later in the game, Offense, handicapped by EJ never got off the ground. If we as a team want to succeed on offense, Fred Jackson needs to be the featured back getting 2/3 of the carries with Spiller mixed in the other 33% of the time. the offense consistently moves the chains with Fred in the game. The sooner Marrone goes to this strategy, the better we will be. The whole Offense rallies around FRED and his fight. I didnt see us winning this game because of RIVers vs Manuel, but I didnt like how inept EJ and the offense as a whole looked in the 4th quarter. WR's not trying showed me a team who wasnt fighting for their QB, and maybe rightfully so. It's getting to the point like it did with Trent Edwards, until EJ starts hitting the deep ball on a regular basis when given the opportunity, Defenses will smother the 10 yards and under routes.
  16. I as a die hard fan would love watching the inner workings of my team on HBO Hard kNocks, its a great production and makes even the most boring of teams ala the Bengals interesting to watch. DO IT
  17. You don't draft a Right tackle or a backup LT at #9. #9 should be an all-pro impact player who contributes right away. Unless there is absolutely no value at an other position in which case you trade down
  18. OG Davin Joseph MLB Brandon Spikes I think we can get both of these guys for same price as Byrd would have cost. Better bang for the buck
  19. Kelvin Benjamin's upside is a poor mans Plaxico Burress. has james Hardy written all over him. Good teams draft sure fire starters in rounds 1 and 2, not prospects which I think Benjamin is
