  1. One thing I think some people fail to understand is that the 4 and 5 WR sets are our best formations RIGHT NOW. But you can't run that stuff too often in Dec and January. Gaily was OC in Pittsburg when they were a power running team, that's what he does, he puts the best formations out there with what he has. I would like to think a top TE would be a nice weapon to have during the winter months especially, but who know with this front office???
  2. We could go after Blaylock and put him at RT. He was projected to play there or G out of college anyways.....just a thought and a little payback on the Birds......
  3. Jamal Brown is still out there, no? At this point in his career he should stay at RT anyways.
  4. Boss really isn't much better than what Chandler could offer. He just made that lucky play in the SuperBowl and people remember him mostly for that. We could just get the guy from Pittsburg for a lot cheaper and same results, or do the right thing and make Miller the highest paid TE. Sure he would be about the 5th-10th best getting paid that, but it would be better than paying Boss like a top 5 TE when he's not even in the top 20, not even close really.
  5. Wait, wait....we can't let the thread die until someone suggests we sign him and convert him to TE. OK, now kill the thread!
  6. I know we are not just "a few pieces of the puzzle" away, but there is NO reason not to add at least one 26-27 year old "very solid starting caliber" player to a nice 5-6 year contract. It can't all come from the draft. At least one should be added every year regardless. TE, RT, or even a younger CB should be added on top of keeping 2 out of 3 of your own.
  7. Well in that case, happy free agency Kyle, you are released. In which case, 3 years, 10-12M, like I said.
  8. I didn't know he made 9M per year? Is that true? If so, Hell no!!!! If not, why not for a 5th, especially if he takes a 3M/year backup type extension ? Fitz is in the last year of his contract and who knows how much he thinks he's worth. I like the way the roster is headed but we still seriously need to somehow hit on a REAL QB. People will bring up stats for Fitz but it's easy to just sling the ball wherever when it just doesn't matter. We'll see how he does when games actually mean something. Bottom line, only Orton for a 5th and a 3 yr, 10-12M extension.
  9. No matter what anyone thinks here Plax doesn't fit the youth movement going on right now. As for S Johnson being a bona fide superstar, hold you horses. The only time he really had a big game was when the Bengals lost their entire secondary. He's a nice piece of the puzzle, but nowhere near a superstar.
  10. Seriously, stop it. Frikin Casey Matthews! Hey!!!!!!!! He's his brother!!!!!! He'll be good for sure!!!!
  11. Free agency doesn't have to have big name splash type guys. 3-4 ends and MLB are solid fill in types that can be had. The NT and pass rushing LB is where you have to pay out the ass. Add in RT and TE.....good solid role players......If not this year, next year the big time D-lineman or OLB. Two year project minimum folks....starting today.
  12. So shut up already. There are 6 other rounds and there will be a free agency sooner or later. Even if we go D-line with the first pick it's not like we will vault into the top 10 of run defense. It's gonna be a huge project that will probably take a couple of years to fix. If we go franchise QB or AJ Green, it will be good for the future. Same with fixing the run D, think ahead people.
  13. Doubt Sheppard will be there either, but I like it if it were to happen. Like it or not though, if we go D with the first pick, we will be trying to trade back into the 1st for whatever QB makes them feel warm and fuzzy. I garooonteee it.
  14. Dalton's arm is nowhere good enough to play in Buffalo. Of the original list Ponder or Rudolph. TE is not a luxury pick when it comes to the Buffalo Bills.....you can't be running 5 wides very much in December.
  15. Stanford won 1 game that year, Missouri just won 10. That's all I'm sayin.
  16. Love the idea or Herzlich or McCarthy in the 4th Barbarian. Both fill the "thumper" role this team needs after Andre Davis gets injured between the 4th and 8th game again. If Bruce Carter was somehow still available in the 3rd (because of his injury) I would take him too and move him inside and pair him with one of the above two. If Carter is gone I guess just bring back Paul Putznoosley.
  17. Peterson has elite measurables, but not coverage skills. I would prefer Green if it were between the 2. I really hoping for a slight tradedown and land Quinn with LB,TE and RT as the next possible targets though...
  18. THIS IS WAR!!! Ya gotta dig out the old assclown award for Smith, that's for sure. Goodell can be asshat.
  19. I think you gotta do it. At 6'4, he could probably get anywhere from 260-270 and still be just as quick and fast.
  20. His stone hands were the only reason he didn't make a few Pro Bowls.
  21. Only as a stop gag to mentor and then backup a younger bigger draftpick.
  22. At least he didn't list stupid Casey Matthews, who makes Poz look huge but yet the board loves him because he's white and his brother is Clay. Can't wait to see the guy get trucked...
  23. It's simple really. The black athlete is typically raised as an individual, so teamwork is not as ingrained as often as less physically gifted white athletes. QB is the most "teamwork" dependent position. You gotta trust and know what your teammates are doing at all times. More often than not, whites are more used to this kind of environment.
  24. Well he was drafted as a franchise LT but ended up at guard. Many thought (JohnFromHemet has seen a lot of him) he was very solid there. Wonder if he would be good at RT? Just wondering, not a get r done rant.
