It's incredible.
Started with ESPN covering strictly the first round, and that was when the Draft was held on Thursday in the afternoon.
Then the Draft moves to the weekend. ESPN still would primarily cover the first round, but would give some second round picks as well. They would add the crawl at the bottom of the screen updating us on every draft pick into the next day, when the draft lasted 12 rounds.
Then with the addition of ESPN 2, they decide to cover the entire draft.
The draft gets shortened to 7 rounds, and NFL Network comes around and we have two stations covering it.
The draft gets moved back to Thursday, except it's aired in prime time and becomes a 3 day event.
Now the draft is a traveling circus, going to a different city each year.
Hundreds of thousands of fans show up to be a part of it.
Now for the first time the draft will be held inside a football stadium and aired on regular network television.
