I understand some of the salary cap implications regarding DB's release. For some reason, $2.2 million isn't that much saved if he was willing to be the backup (as long as he didn't have to take a pay cut). This may just be speculation because I read in only one online news story that Drew would be willing to stay if he wasn't asking to sacrifice a portion of his salary. Does this make sense? Does TD plan to sign a veteran QB willing to be JP's backup who doesn't suck?

Didn't the offense put up 17 points on its own? Didn't our vaunted D give up 22 all by itself? Now tell me who failed to show up that day against 2nd and 3rd stringers.

I really don't think the team will rely on JP to win games for us. Hell, we didn't with DB but he can make plays and has proven it in the past. We're going to ride the run game to the playoffs, I'm sure. We need a stud back RB who can handle 10-12 carries/game between the tackles. Shaud is just too small but he has impressed with what he's done so far. Still we need another RB and Burns just doesn't fire me up.

Coach Mike will have to rely on the running game now that his hands are tied unless we find a capable, veteran QB who doesn't mind being the backup. The defense will be here for one more year and we won't have to rely on JP to win games. The onus will be on him not to lose them. Sadly, if we don't make the playoffs this year, we could be facing a drought for years to come. Gray will more than prob be gone after this season. Adams contract is up too.

Normally, I would but our playoff window is closing fast! But the time he's "ready", our D will be rebuilt with nothing buy younger guys (read: they will suck!) and we won't have the Teams we have now.
