  1. My guess is they’ll release something around camp time or when camp ends.
  2. They have a lot of wiggle room. Especially with Josh Allen.
  3. I wonder if the NFL closes the void year loophole. The NHL had this problem. Terry Pegula believe it or not was one of the 1st owners to exploit it in the NHL. The NHL changed the rules.
  4. Simply put If Watson is charged due to more women coming forward it’s possible language in the contract would allow the Browns to void guarantees and bonus money and release the player. More women coming forward opens this back up for criminal charges. Big difference.
  5. If more women come forward not only does that open Watson up for more punishment but it also opens him up for criminal charges again. Its a huge deal if more women come forward after the contract was signed. More women could give the Browns an out.
  6. I read somewhere that they might be able to get the guaranteed money back and the bonus money back if there are more women that come forward. The 24th woman could cause a lot of problems for Watson if she was unknown before the contract was signed. If that’s true the Browns can simply cut Watson without much cap penalty.
  7. Most people here are just talking basics of how the cap is calculated. Getting exact numbers is more complicated for sure. We’ll see a bunch of different numbers on total cap space throughout the offseason and all of them are typically incorrect. Creating cap space by converting base salary to a bonus is pretty straight forward. That’s all people here are talking about. Not where those numbers come from.
  8. Injuries, age, and other factors make pushing cap down the road risky. It’s typically your top players that you’re restructuring but yes there are risks.
  9. They were cleaning up but they were like $50 million under the cash minimum spending from 2018-2020. Today they’re about $100 million over the cash minimum. I didn’t check numbers just going off of memory. So I’m probably a little off. But yes they were extremely low spending their 1st few years. All the spending they’ve done the last couple years is basically evening everything out. You have spend a certain minimum in cash over 4 years I believe.
  10. I’m pretty sure it was simply counting all bonus money this year and not spreading it out. The Bills would be nearly $80 million over Ralph’s cash to cap this season. Im not sure if teams were able to carry over cap back then. I don’t remember when that started.
  11. It is pretty simple. Kick it into the future. The reason teams never really get into trouble is the cap keeps going up. Also even if you get in trouble with a player’s dead cap, you can take another players cap and push it down the road to create more space. It’s a never ending cycle as long as the owner is ok spending cash over cap. Basically their own money out of the bank. Remember Ralph/Russ Brandon’s cash to cap? Basically that was spending real cash up to exactly what the cap is, nothing more. Love Ralph for giving us the Bills but thank goodness for the Pegulas.
  12. I got dislikes here for saying this is the reason I didn’t want the Bills to sign him.
  13. The difference right now between this WR group and others is John Brown, who was at the end of his career and Emanuel Sanders, at the end of his career. We’ve been lucky Diggs hasn’t missed any time. Basically we’re great at WR if Diggs is healthy. They’re taking a risk on Gabe Davis being a true WR2 or maybe even more than that, but it’s time to see what he’s got.
  14. Do they not remind you of the Sabres a little bit? Tanking, then excitement, then complete implosion.
  15. And I’m not saying the punishment should be equal either. But the Watson stuff came out a few months after the Kraft case ended. Let’s also remember what Watson’s lawyer just said. No crime in a happy ending. There are similarities. Watsons group is saying it was all consensual.
  16. A traffic violation shouldn’t get you arrested unless you’re committing a crime. So no you’re not correct. The only reason Kraft escaped punishment from the league is because the video wasn’t allowed as evidence.
  17. New ritual before games. All 71,000 must puke before the game.
  18. Rape and illegal prostitution are crimes. I’m not saying they’re the same crime. I’m saying both committed crimes, Kraft was caught on video. The NFL decided not to punish Kraft for illegal prostitution because the video was destroyed. It was prostitution. A crime. I’m not talking about rape vs prostitution.
  19. It was illegal prostitution but the videos of him paying for sex acts were thrown out and destroyed by a judge. No evidence remained. I’m not sure what you mean by different? Both allegedly committed crimes. In Krafts case he was caught on video.
  20. I’m wondering if they were worried about the lack of punishment for Robert Kraft coming back up.
  21. Anyone remember Darren Sharper? Was accused of rape by multiple women but the cases were dismissed? He continued to rape multiple women for 3 more years. I bet Watson is still doing it today. Maybe just using prostitutes but there’s no way he’d be able to stop his addiction without serious help.
  22. If we needed a QB this year Beane probably isn’t making the decision. You have to think about this as a desperate fan and a desperate team. Right now we aren’t in a situation where we would sell our soul.
  23. They also want us to believe it’s all about money. Money plays a role but many athletes have sex with a lot of women and manage not to get sued or accused of sexual assault.
  24. I posted in another thread that the Bills were the front runner to sign Michael Vick immediately after being released from prison. The NFL stepped in. I remember many fans wanted Vick, many didn’t. When you’re desperate for a QB things change. I’m so glad the Bills didn’t need a QB when Watson was available. It would’ve been a huge debate here. I think most would’ve wanted to trade for him.
  25. I understand that, but the NFL has stepped in before. Like when Mike Vick nearly signed in Buffalo. The NFL didn’t want Mike Vick as a face of the franchise immediately after getting released from jail. I guess that’s different but it’s all about PR. The whole Watson trade seemed dirty without his civil cases settled.
