Jordan Poyer: a guess @ his new contract.
Buffalo_Stampede replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
Or they give him a little bump this year to make him happy. Hes 31, not exactly ancient for a SS. I think at the end of the day he’ll get a 2 year extension maybe longer to keep his cap hit down. -

Jordan Poyer: a guess @ his new contract.

2 years $30 million in new money. Guaranteed around $20 million. Add in his 2022 money and it’s about a 3 year $40 million deal. $13.3 million average. Puts him in the top 10 for safety contracts. He’d be the 2nd highest paid safety over 30 years old. Technically he’d be the highest paid over 30 because Harrison Smith’s deal isn’t as scary as it looks. It was basically a 2 year $26 million deal. Originally I was thinking 2 years $24 million for Poyer. -
MINKAH Fitzpatrick huge contract

Let me change the phrasing then. Affect that would be a deal breaker. Poyer is not going to approach that deal. His deal should be much shorter term. -

Do the math then. There are many contracts to study. What do you believe is Poyer’s market? I’m 100% positive you’ll have the same numbers as me if you know what you’re looking at. -

MINKAH Fitzpatrick huge contract

It’s just not a comparable. He’ll slot in below the top contracts. The example I gave is $15 million a year in new money. Slots him right there with the top safeties, just not at the top. Before this contract I figured something around $12 million per year in new money. So I did factor in the bump. He’s signed so the new money would be added on, averaging a little over $13 million per year. That is market value. -

It shouldn’t have any affect on a Poyer deal. Poyer will be looking for deals in the 5-10 ranking range. Not #1. $12m-$14m per season. Guaranteed money around $20 million range. I think we’ll see something like 2 year extension for $30 million. $20million guaranteed. That is new money. The 3 year total is 3 years about $40 million. -
They’ve developed young talent. It’s not a hope. Davis and Knox deserve the extra targets they’re going to get. Both players could be in line for major contracts after the year, a reason why they didn’t add high cap on offense. The talent on offense is very good. Knox and Davis have earned more targets and will get them. We’re talking 50 or so more targets coming their way. I can see both over 100 targets. They’re are banking on Davis. If you believe Davis can be a true WR2 then our offensive weapons are strong. If you don’t believe in Davis then we could be in trouble if Diggs goes down. Crowder is a better overall WR coming to Buffalo than Beasley was coming to Buffalo. I’m also very high on the potential of McKenzie. He’s also earned more targets. The biggest problem I see on offense is the reliability factor. Crowder likely to miss games. Shakir is basically where Davis was as a rookie entering camp.

Won’t make the roster? Who’s making the roster then? IOL depth is our weakest position on the roster. No draft picks or experienced vets. Van Roten is the experienced depth. Doyle is a wildcard but our 3rd IOL will likely be someone that can play all 3 spots. As of today that’s Van Roten and Mancz.
-
There aren’t any rookie IOL that will beat out anyone. The only IOL depth we have are Van Roten and Mancz. Boettger on PUP to start. Doyle is a wildcard. And Ford.

Have we given up on Isaiah Hodgins?
Buffalo_Stampede replied to Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah they were pretty even. Hodgins has had his moments in camp also. He’s more of a slot guy though and in Buffalo he had no chance at playing time in the slot early on. Especially with the injuries. -
He’s got more starting experience. Just as athletic. I would be surprised if he doesn’t make the roster. They both probably do with Boettger on PUP most likely. Don’t forget Spencer Long.
-
Why? They’ll both compete.
-
They tried signing him in 2020 also. Beane is persistent. Ford is done. This guy replaces Bates as the 3rd IOL. Boettger is going to miss most of the season.
-
There’s your backup center/OG. Ford might not make it to camp.

Some of it is him and I think some of it is slow cooking him. For a team to keep a player around for this long they definitely see something in him. -
Tyreek Hill says Tua is more accurate than Mahomes
Buffalo_Stampede replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
He pats the ball like 3 times before throwing. That’s an INT for any QB attempting that throw after 3 pats. Horribly late. You need some velocity. I’m not sure what Tua’s ball velocity is, but low-mid 50s is probably the minimum needed. I’m sure he’s in that range. Allen probably closer to 60+. -

Physical ability definitely helps but has very little to do with success of a QB. It’s the reason many fans wanted Josh Rosen over Josh Allen. Rosen fans didn’t think Allen could develop all the important things needed to be a successful QB. Also, Tua was late on the throw. Josh wasn’t late. Josh can be late at times though with his arm but that would basically be 2019 Josh Allen. On this throw Tua is nearly throwing 2 seconds late. If that happens he’s always getting intercepted. -

Lack of arm strength never stopped a QB from being good or improving. Decision making, accuracy, anticipation, and timing are what makes QBs. Same reason why Allen didn’t become good until he improved those areas.
