  1. [assuming sarcasm wasn't applied] It's all about ratings, my friend. Once they get a few complaints, the number of viewers drop...hence, the ratings take a hit. Most people would forget about it by the end of the season, but some wouldn't and that's all that matters. If it was NBC, CBS, CNN, or Nickelodeon, they'd all do the same thing. Nevertheless, I liked the song. It was a Monday Night Football staple for years. When they tried doing a different singer each week one season, it was horrible...I couldn't get into it. I guess I'm too much of a traditionalist, but I thought it was catchy and worth keeping.
  2. Me too!
  3. Do we like ESPN now?
  4. He's still soaking in the 15 minutes of fame from the "Hero" game. However, I'm not sure if I'd put the Bills in "contender" status just yet. If you're talking about a playoff contender, then yes. If you're talking about Superbowl contender, then no.
  5. Well, that may not every man's dream, but congrats. One year, eh? I'm going on 15 and can't get the wife to watch a football game for more than 30 seconds.
  6. I never even almost feel bad for Sanchez.
  7. The Bengals were NOT what we thought they were...they were better. I thought they held Freddy down pretty well and played some solid pass defense. It's almost as if the Bills underestimated them a bit. Andy Dalton didn't impress me in the first half, but he was much better in the second. He hung in there after making some bad throws. AJ Green is going to be a stud in the next year or so. Tough loss, but it just reinforces how we can't assume anything. I expect a better effort against a desperate Eagles team next week.
  8. Since replay came back, many of the officials are hesitant to make the call. It's as if they're afraid it's going to be overturned or something. Just make the call and if it's wrong, it's wrong. As for this call, I can see how Cruz "gave himself up", but that's a judgement call. For as long as I can remember, if the ball carrier takes a knee, the play is blown dead. The question with this play was whether or not the official thought Cruz "took a knee" or if he just fell. Frankly, they should change this rule...make it so that if a player does anything like this, he MUST be touched by the other team for the play to be dead. The only exceptions should be on kickoff returns and when the QB takes a knee.
  9. Perhaps, but imagine if she wrote that article about the Giants. The responses would have been 100 times worse (and 100 times the volume) and it might have gotten her fired.
  10. Skip Bayless' job is to make outrageously moronic comments so people will watch. Didn't he once say (during his prime in San Diego) that LaDanian Tomlinson was not even the best RB in the NFL?
  11. The attention is nice, but I still say that power rankings are worthless. Nevertheless, at least someone in the media is paying attention to what the Bills are doing.
  12. Agreed, but it doesn't matter. He's still the QB for the Dallas Cowboys. This is why he gets a lot of press. And he has won a playoff game, even though (I think) he's 1-3 in the playoffs.
  13. He's the QB for a team with probably the largest fan base in the country. That's all you need to know.
  14. Agreed. I admit I've complained in recent years, but for legitimate reasons. For example, CBS6 trying to show Indy at Minnesota over Buffalo at Jacksonville when the Jets, Giants, and Patriots were all playing at different times. It's silly decisions like this that make us annoyed. There is still a large contingent of Buffalo fans in this area and when the local media disses the Bills, it legitimately calls for complaints. Gish's column was unprofessional, especially considering she gave the impression that she was going to write something positive. Whether she's a fan of the Giants, Jets, Patriots, Steelers, Cowboys, or the f'in Seahawks doesn't matter. I hate and loathe the Cowboys - but that won't allow me to publicly blast their fans just because they're Cowboys fans. That appears to be what she did - blast us just because we're Bills fans. It's too bad the game wasn't televised here on Sunday - she would've probably gotten sick at the sight of the Bills winning.
  15. You mean Week 17, but you're right - all of those games are at 1 or 4. The Sunday Night games end in Week 16. I think the only two possible Bills games that get flexed are Week 12 vs NYJ (currently Pit @ KC) and Week 13 vs Tennessee (currently Ind @ NE). Every other Sunday Night game has a big market team or a potentially good matchup.
  16. This makes sense. Murph & Kelso made a comment that made me believe his complaint to the ref cost him the timeout, but that didn't make much sense to me. In hindsight, Belichick was trying to do whatever he could to keep some time on the clock. It's what good coaches do. Many Bills fans see it as a "crybaby tantrum", but if Chan Gailey did the same thing, it would be good coaching. It's good coaching, no matter what. What really cost the Patriots was Wilfork's personal foul. That gave the Bills an extra down with which to run the clock. If the OP wants to gripe about silly immaturity, this is the one to complain about...even though it helped the Bills.
  17. This type of attitude is what you need...actually going out and winning is what creates a winning atmosphere. The Bills aren't one of the elite teams yet, but I think they opened a bunch of sets of eyes yesterday.
  18. That's what would have happened in 2008. Or they would have scored a quick TD, giving Brady 1:20 to tie the game, which he would have done...then beat us in OT. Today, I wanted them to do the same thing, but only because Fred was running well. That said, I loved the play call and adjustment by Fitz to get the slant to Fred. Chan did the right thing by running the clock down to kick the FG. That's the type of in-game coaching that wins games.
  19. It's not worth complaining about. It's just bad luck that Fox has the doubleheader this weekend.
  20. Ouch. She sounds like a spoiled high school bully who has been following the Patriots since 2001. I hear the same tone from Cowboys, Jets, and Patrots fans who laugh at us because the Bils lose a lot. My respect for her has been lost, too.
  21. Millen may be a dolt when it comes to being a GM, but he's still a good analyst. I wouldn't be so quick to jump on him for this.
  22. The vast majority of the country is seeing the Bills and Albany can't.
  23. Great...now they're jinxed.
  24. I almost stopped recording that game at halftime. I always record every Bills playoff game to keep, but I was convinced to keep the VCR rolling. Good thing... The best moment for me had to be the 51-3 game, followed closely by the comeback. Honorable mention - the'93 AFC Championship game against Kansas City. Everyone was griping because they didn't want to see the Bills lose in the Superbowl again. The entire team came out and rolled the Chiefs and knocked out Joe Montana. The best was the sign in the stands that said "We're baaaaaaaaack! Deal with it America!".
  25. Yeah, I don't really get why Bruschi went off on him. What's wrong with someone saying they were in awe of their own offense?
