  1. So because i think upshaw is a moron and disagree with your point of view, then i dont understand the situation, huh? What happens if the owners reject this proposal and the players get locked out in 2008. One thing in a lockout. The players stop making money. But people will still buy NFL stuff, so the owners will still be making some (albeit not much) income. Upshaw is playing a dangerous game here. He may come out looking liek roses. But theres also a chance he comes out looking like another one of his colleagues who was going to "stick it to the owners", Bob Goodenow. You sure showed the owners Bob. And gene, you shoudl have studied history a little bit more before making such a one sided proposal.
  2. For the record, i dont like the fact that we are letting reed walk at all.His problem is in his head and can be fixed. I still think he can be a very good #2 receiver somewhere in this league. I just wish it was buffalo.
  3. Positives: Gets good penetration... Negatives: Tends to leaves a gap in coverage...
  4. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5387194 Top 7 Hou - Bush NO - Leinhart Ten - Young NYJ - Cutler GB - M. Williams SF - D'Brick (cant see this, not when they paid big bucks to JJ) Oak - Hawk BUFFALO - BRODERICK BUNKLEY I'd love it, but i may be biased, being a fellow 'Nole ) Meanwhile Ngata falls to Cleve at #12, and they say that he doesnt always give top effort. Anyone else heard of this? its the first time i've heard a downright negative thing about Ngata.
  5. Interesting scenario, but i cant see reggie bush falling that far. Someone will trade up and take him before SF. As for the Bills, with 14:58 left on the clock, tags better have the draft card with D'Brick's name on it.
  6. Ok, i see your point, but that percentage "decrease" the union would be forced to take would give the players some $577 million more next year. I dont know how the players could ever get by with taking that kind of hit.
  7. Jomn Stewart was funny as hell, and as has been stated ad nauseum, Hollywood is a bunch of stiffs who cannot laugh at themselves. I was on the couch laughing my ass off and thinking "the celebs are probably too stupid to understand half of his jokes."
  8. Wow, is that b!tch smacking you received over in the losman completion percentage thread still bothering you? I've never said it wasnt a negotiation tactic, because of course it is. I was saying Tardshaw is a moron for claiming that his players are accepting less, when in reality they are getting a ton more money. Does he have a right to negotiate for as much $ as possible? Sure, thats what negotiations are for. But claiming that 57% repersents a lowering of money is completely false when the players are going to see 1.5 billion MORE dollars over the life of the CBA. Its not my fault you apparently cant understand simple math either.
  9. In a round about way, you've hit my point. Lets keep the doctor analogy going. Right now i am getting 64% of the doctors salary, which is $100,000. Now all this time, lets say the doctor is getting income from prescriptions that get filled in his name, and from companies that pay him to use their medical equipment. Say that adds up to another 50,000 per year. Now we agree to open my cut to all of the doctors income, not just his salary, but he wants to lower my take to 56%. So my choices are: A. 64% of his salary,a larger cut of a smaller pool, or 64% of 100,000 = $64,000 per year or B. 56% of all his income, a smaller cut of a larger pool, or 56% of 150,000 = $84,000 per year So yes the players are taking less of a percentage, but the owners are giving them a bigger pool of money to take their cut from.
  10. No, he's a tard for comparing apples to oranges as a poster said a few posts ago, and not realizing that while the number of the percentage may be lower, the ACTUAL amount of money received by the players is much higher. The players are getting a smaller piece of a much bigger pie. But tardshaw cant see that and is causing a sticking point. Think of it this way. We'll give you 64% of the average salary of a factory worker. I'll take 56% of the salary of a doctor. I'll get more money overall, but at least you can make fun of me because you are getting a higher percentage than i am.
  11. Why go through all that trouble when he can just buy said photos off of Chuck Lester?
  12. Damn, and i thought the roman numerals for SB 40 looked gay. 50 is going to be terrible!
  13. But being able to guarantee more money gives him an advantage. For example, say the redskins make 50 mil in revenue, and the bills 20. The skins can hand out 3 $15 mil signing bonuses to lure 3 free agents, while the bills could only afford to pay one of those. And a player will most often go for the larger signing bonus.
  14. Not necessarily, because someone like danny boy can sign new expensive free agents every season with enormous signing bonuses. Sure the imaginary dollars will eventually catch up with him, but as long as he can amortize his bonuses over 5-7 years, he can actually pay out much larger bonuses (in terms of actual money) every single season.
  15. Nope, someone else on TSW will have to wait with pyrite gal.
  16. I'd have no problems taking Huff in round 1, provided Ferguson is off the board.
  17. Exactly. You want a celebration? I'll celebrate when firefighters/the military, etc. are earning the big bucks, because they ACTUALLY deserve it. Not these assclowns who arent happy making tens of millions playing a kids game, and are whining because 10 million isnt enough, they need more.
  18. For 1.5-2 mil per year, i'd sign mike williams.
  19. Lets see, Upshaw the tard says he will not have the players go to a lower percentage of revenues that they currently are (which is just less than 60%). He says the players will not accept 57%, because it represents a decrease. Now if Gene the 'tard new how to operate a calculator, the "lowering" of the players cut of revene actually gives the players 577 million more next season, and 1.5 billion more over the course of the CBA contract. Way to go gene. Keep insisting that 57% of 20 is somehow less than 60% of 10, because its a lower percentage. Next time, the NFLPA ought to hire someone who has passed 4th grade math. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2355190
  20. !@#$ Duke...was good to see my 'Noles put the beat down on the blue devils down here this past week.
  21. As of 6:30 Pm, Tags was returning his office, and upshaw was leaving, and there was no new deal. Upshaw claimed that the owners lowered their proposal. Teams must still be cap compliant by 10pm tonite, and free agency is still supposed to start at 12:01 am tonight. Bloody sunday may be occurring within the next couple of hours.
  22. between the f'ed up colors and the damn graphical sigs, i almost had an epileptic seizure from clicking on that link. Thanks again Scott for the great board!
  23. Dever lost a 3rd rounder, but i think it was mroe for trying to circumvent the cap that outright ignoring it. It was something along the lines of them illegally paying bonuses i think. Theres a part of me that almost doesnt want to see a deal get done, just so people like snyder dont get bailed out, and they get whats coming to them.
  24. Interesting point. I call a losman incomplete on 3rd and 10 the same thing as a 2 yard checkdown by holcomb on 3rd and 10.
