  1. Got it. You're one of these guys that will show up at work and not do sh-- all day, but then B word about me who got 3X as much work done while i was at home. But, you think you are a better worker because "you are at work."
  2. So using the phones/faxes/videoconferencing from washington was a better way to handle the situation as opposed to using the same technology from Bejing?
  3. I was there this summer myself, and its turning out real nice. However, this still isnt doing sh-- to "re-build" the city. If Buffalo were to have this beautiful section on top of a redeveloped city, that would be great. By itself however, the harbor project is akin to putting lipstick on a pig.
  4. they said more building are being planned, which is the kiss of death for any Buffalo project. But now i guess they get to pay a ton of $ to people to draw lots of pretty pictures about the buildings until some nutjob complains that theres historical significance to the ground they are breaking. I expect to see the new buildings completed sometime around 2065. Nice pictures. I'm sure billionaires are lining up to invest and build in Buffalo after seeing some rocks put around a parking lot.
  5. get off your damn high horse with the "fans are ijits who dont understand how important a LT is." Christ, i'm guessing almost everyone who posts here understands the value of a good LT. And people would feel the same if it was a DE or RB someone else holding out with 3 years left on a new deal. And Peters leverage isnt gaining at all. He still has 3 years left on his deal, and he's losing money by the day. By moving Walker over to LT, the Bills have shown that they have a contingency plan for LT in the event that peters continues to be mentally deficient and not report. They've shown that they aren't panicking about the LT spot without peters. Let him rot on the bench for 3 seasons and we'll see what kind of deal he'll get on the market. Hint: it wont be much. Ralph isnt new to this game. Peters is only going to get a new deal when Ralph wants, not when Peters wants. As has been mentioned before on here, Peters picked the wrong owner to play chicken with, especially when he has multiple years left on his deal.
  6. Agreed. Toss in diving as well. I hate the arbitrary scoring systems these events use. They bias the scoring towards either the "home" team (see: chinese B word getting a bronze in the vault after falling), or they base their scoring on previous reputation. Gimmie an event where you can see who won wth your own eyes, or there is some quantifiable way for an individual to earn a score.
  7. I'm going to agree as well. Standardized testing is a necessary evil regarding the SAT, GRE, etc. But the standardized testing that goes on all throughout many states is ridiculous. Like you, when i was in HS, the only state standardized test i took was the Regents Exam at the end of every year. Our teachers taught the material, and like you said, we spent a couple of weeks toward the end of the year going over the regents exam, doing some practice problems, etc. Now when my bro went through our same HS 6 years later (he graduated in '05), they had already instilled a bunch of the "state exams" throughout the year. He told me plenty of times he got nothing out of half a year in most classes because the teachers had to teach to the test, instead of focusing on the subject matter. My girl's bro down here in florida had ot take the FCAT last year. His teachers basically shut it down in feb and spent march and april focusing on the FCAT tests and not the topics. Education is in a sad state of affairs. Even mroe ridiculous is the mandate that all students must be forced ot take these standardized tests. My mom is a special ed teacher in buffalo, and hates the fact that her kids have to take standardized tests. She teacher elementary and focuses on teaching things that the kids can learn and getting them to make progress and instilling self-confidence. Her kids are old enough to realize that they "arent as smart as" other kids, so the biggest fight is just giving them the self-confidence that they are smart and can learn lots of things. And every year, her kids are forced to take the same standardized tests as everyone else where they usually struggle mightily. You cant even begin to imagine the setbacks this can cause.

  9. The OP is exhibit 1 form this thread... http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?s=&am...t&p=1098980
  10. If Darwin got his wishes, the membership of TBD would probably sit at 100, and not 10,000.
  11. To me, you need to identify "indispensible" players going forward, players that you are going to keep no matter what. This means letting go of good, but not great talent in order to afford the premium talent on this team. For example, regarding next offseason, i see peters as an elite talent that needs to be locked up. I also see Evans as an irreplaceable talent that needs to be locked up. With Crowell and Greer, while i like they and think these guys are good, i dont think they are worth (to the bills) the big bucks they will command on the open market. i think both of their caliber of players can be easily replaced. Greer can be replaced by McKelvin/Corner, and Crowell can be easily replaced through FA or a 1st round LB.
  12. Sad thing is that he survived. The hospital should have refused to treat him, on the basis of darwinism.
  13. Dead on KD. Aside form the entire "my kid is so special and little johnny will be hurt if he gets a D" mentality, whats worse is the so-called "education system" in place now. Everything is geared towards a test or some type of evaluation that all kids must pass. Kids now get taught how to take and pass the test instead of learning actual material. As bad as it sounds, we're getting to the point where everyone in class is going to be given the exact same grade so to not "exclude" or "offend" the other students who are stupid. I cant believe public school have gone to hell so quickly. I graduated HS in '99 and we had the standard policy that for the 1st 2 days late, your final grade was dropped 1 letter (or roughly 10 points) per day, and we were told don't even bother turning it in on the 3rd day or later. And no, i've lived here for 5 years, my girl has a 12 year old brother, and neither of us have ever heard of the florida learning network until now.
  14. May as well get this done and over with in this new thread. I fully expect Dick Jauron to draft either a CB or S in round 1 next year, and probably 3 more throughout the rest of the draft all while neglecting the OL. [/bill in nyc]
  15. Instead of looking inside and realizing what needs to be fixed, Buffalo is always trying for the "win the lottery" type approach to fixing the city, as if a casino, or a bridge, or a bass pro is going to turn it into a boom town. You can put all the new siding on the house you want, but if the foundation is cracked, you're going nowhere.
  16. They would claim that we won in spite of drafting a CB in 08, not because of it.
  17. No player actually negotiated their contract down, even under the old CBA. They would "re-structure", meaning that some of their salary would be converted to signing bonus. The player would still get the same amount of money, but they team could spread out the cap hit over more years, thereby lowering that years cap number.
  18. Let me see if i remember which abbreviations are which... XTRP = extrapolation if the storm were to continue its exact movement (basically, this is the current direction the storm is traveling) The ones i trust the most are: NGPS - NOGAPS - the navy UKM - UK Met. - this guy is over in the UK and kind of crazy at times, but tends to be correct a lot more often than not GFDL - geophysical fluid dynamics lab from Princeton the BAM models (BAMS, BAMM, BAMD) - these are all the same model, but taking into effect different heights of the system (shallow, medium, deep) http://www.hurricanealley.net/hurmdls.htm The CMC is the canadian model, and they usually have no farking idea of whats going on.
  19. If any of you guys want, here's a link to the actual computer model maps and tracks. I trust these a hell of a lot more than i trust the crackheads at the NHC. http://my.sfwmd.gov/sfwmd/common/images/we...ts/storm_06.gif
  20. does this count for rookie OL as well?
  21. Good grief. A bunch of faggot gator losers (i'm not referring to you faustus, just the inbred redneck dirtbags that i assume populate the gator forums) hoping that FSU is going to get the death penalty from the NCAA. Lets take a look at the known facts, not "facts" posted from some douche on a gator message board (yeah, MB posters are models of credibility) who cant see the screen because tim tebow's balls are in his face. 1. Some FSU players were caught cheating on a music test. The extent of the cheating was that a tutor gave them either help or direct answers to an online exam that the athletes needed to take. 2. There were more athletes than just FSU football players involved. The athletes accused of cheating were dealt with via suspensions and or removal from the teams. 3. This isnt some huge cheating scandal where the entire football team was cheating over the course of years or the course of the semester. It was an isolated incident, one single test. 4. Here's the link to the NCAA hearing... http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/conten...c_fsu_0702.html 5. The NCAA has given no indication that they will "make an example" out of us. In fact, everything coming out has the NCAA agreeing with FSU's self-imposed sanctions. Bottom line: FSU will likely be put on probation for a couple of years. We'll probably lose a couple of scholarships for a couple of years. But to those fudge packing gator fans, no, we are not getting the death penalty, and no, this isn't going to be a significant hiccup in the development of FSU. And for the record, TK Wetherell is a giant douche.
  22. Hence the term, "retard roller coaster."
  23. Actually, Dwight Drane might be on to something. I've done some research and came up with this unknown text. [preaching about the end times] And the-a anti christ-a will a come-a to the team from the great falls-a in the 4th month-a of the final year-a. He will-a be disguised-a as a "hardy" soul-a and come as the second-a of several selections-a. The beast will wear-a the the mark of infinity-a (8) signifying his infinite power-a, followed by the mark-a proclaiming he is the supreme being-a in the world-a (1). [/preaching] [book of drane] And it shall come to pass, that on the day before the end times (9-14) the beast will make himself be known to the league of 32 teams. On the 6th play he will make his 6th catch and score 6 points, revealing himself as having the mark of the anti-christ, 666. His reign will dominate and the only souls spared will be the ones who carry not the yellowish metals of the Gods, but its grayish brother metals. [/book of drane]
  24. For someone who doesn't base their predictions off the bible, you are awfully hung up on the Bible and God. You are one of these algore whacko nutjobs who take a look at a small sample period and extrapolate that as if thats the behavior of the system, when in fact, its but a small blip on the grand scale. As for your science? Blowing the Earth out of orbit - utterly and completely impossible. I am guessing that the "science" you believe in says that the world is 6000 years old, and that the reason there are no more dinosaurs are that they didn't get on Noah's ark.
  25. You seriously went through all the trouble of registering for this? Or did daddy mistakenly leave the browser window open and he thinks you're still taking your nap?
