  1. Kelsay was coming off a 5.5 sack season, and was 27 and headed into the prime of his career. I dont fault the Bills for keeping him around, because there was reason to believe he was either going to get better, or still remain as productive as he was in 2006. The problem is he hasn't lived up to his 2006 season. that was an aberration, not the norm. Its time for him to go, or be relegated to backup duty. And you can't have it both ways. If Kelsay hadn't been re-signed in '06, you would have been the first one on here complaining that the Bills run a "revolving door" and "we never re-sign our own guys."
  2. Link? Everything i have read is that the Buccs will do some tinkering with the defense, but they aren't making wholesale changes. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/bucs/home.htm
  3. Decent episode, nothing spectacular. It served to advance the plot line, but no real crazy unexpected stuff, and no real big answers. One thought i did have, or rather my girl had, was that perhaps the whispers the lostaways were hearing on the island during seasons 1 and 2 actually the time travelers. Sawyer saw kate and claire last night, and the rest of the group was close by, so perhaps their voices were the "whispers."
  4. Nothing like displaying your lack of intelligence. Whiner got "run over" by Sammy Morris because morris put a helmet directly into Donte's injured shoulder. He crumpled on impact, not because he got "jacked up", but because he got smacked in the separated shoulder. Notice how he didn't get up and had to be helped off the field after that play, his shoulder hanging limply at his side.
  5. If Vince learns to become a passer who makes plays with his feet instead of a runner who sometimes completes a pass to his own team (ala vick), then he can be a good QB. I dont see it happening for the following reasons: 1. I dont think the titans coaching staff is committed to making him more of a passer 2. I dont think young can break out of his run first mentality 3. I question his desire to play football. He'll never be a good QB if he doesn't sort out his mental issues 4. I see major problems in his game with too many INTs and not enough TDs. This isn't like Peyton who tossed 26 TDs to go with 28 INTs. This is a guy who tossed only 1 TD every other game. IF Young gets his head in the game, and IF he develops his passing, he can be a good QB. I dont see it happening. I think he'll be a highlight reel, but mediocre QB who will leads the titans to wins, but will never be able to get them over the hump.
  6. Vince Young, as he was in rookie year, is a hell of an athlete, but an absolute garbage passer. Which is why he'll never be anything more than a mediocre QB. Time and time again, it has been proven that you can't win consistently without a good passer. The titans may make the playoffs with him behind the helm, but they'll never reach the top unless VY becomes a passer. 9 TD, 17 INT seasons (22 TD and 32 INT's on his career) with a career 68 passer rating aren't going to take the titans anywhere. Sure he'll make the highlite reels, but if the titans want to win, VY will have to develop more into a passer and less of a scrambler. Collins is a huge reason why the titans did so well this year. He didn't turn the ball over. With young at the helm, chances are the titans go 9-7/10-6 instead of 13-3.
  7. holcomb's arm is full of sh--, like usual. Here's a list of mocks from just prior to draft day 2006. Most of them have Whitner being selected between 15-25. http://www.footballsfuture.com/2006/mock.html
  8. I've seen some places projecting Moore as a possible LB at the NFL level, due to his coverage problems.
  9. This is TBD. We run 1st round draft picks and good players out town all the time. Its just what we do. Since 1 2004 1st rounder re-signed, another isn't with the team, and we had no 2005 1st, its time to move along to run the 2006 1st rounders out of town.
  10. Its also amusing that since Trent has started nearly as many games as JP, all of a sudden, its "years in the league" that matter. I'm still wondering why some people <cough>BILL<cough> can't let go of JP Losman. He's no longer a buffalo bill. Criticisms of the starting QB, Trent, are strictly that, criticisms of his poor level of play. But i suppose it will be 2014 and Bill will still be blaming JP for whatever-QB is-currently-starting-at-the-time's failures and shortcomings.
  11. DE, because we have 1 really good player and the rest backup-type players. But, take my opinion with a grain of salt because i only drive an S-10. Its a V6, so perhaps that boosts my credibility?
  12. Yup. Cutting Kelsay saves no cap dollars, but it sure as hell saves 6 million in real dollars that ralph wouldn't need to pay kelsay in salary. Buffalo has so much cap room we hardly need to think about cap ramifications.
  13. You are correct. Jason Taylor goes 244, which is the same weight as Schobel. I dont recommend stocking your team entirely with 240 lb DEs, but its a myth that only "big" DEs can be good.
  14. Gotta love both Denny's and waffle house. Waffle house has better breakfast, denny's better diner food. Of course, here in tally, there's no denny's for 50 miles. Now waffle house on the other hand? there are 5 tallahassee exits along I-10, each one of them has a waffle house right off the interstate. In total, there are 8 waffle houses within 15 minutes from my townhouse down here. And in pensacola? At the I-10 and I-110 interchange, there are 2 waffle houses off 1 exit. 1 on each side of the interstate, so people do not have to worry about making a U-turn after exiting I-10.
  15. This guy has to be LSI's retarded little brother.
  16. Stroud would be a terror with someone worth a damn next to him. Look at how him and henderson flourished in j-ville. Now, both of them aren't as effective alone as they were together. I dont mean to say stroud isn't good, because he is, but he's the type that can be a game changer when the defense needs to focus on someone else as well.
  17. Good stuff by everyone in this thread. I've got an almost 14 year old lab back home, so i feel for everyone. My girl had her dalmatian put down last year about this time. Not the brightest bulb, but a happy fun loving dog that would sit there and be happy if you just talked to her. She'd just look at you while you talked, wag her tail and sit there. If you stopped, she'd paw you or nudge you. I've never seen a dog that just loved a voice before. It was tough when they put her down. The dog's back had gone out a week or so earlier, and she could barely sit or move around. They couldn't let the her go on like that, so they did what needed to be done. Not an easy task for anyone involved. To me, its more about the pet's quality of life than the people's feelings. Show your pet how much they mean by not forcing them to hang on too long.
  18. Wow. Sounds like the attendants didn't give you the right medication before they let you out of the straight jacket and onto the computer, you crazy !@#$.
  19. It too complicated and you are holding each team to a different set of rules. What is the point of forcing the second team to go for the win? That would make likelihood of victory for the coin toss winner even greater. The winner only had to drive to the opposition 30 to kick a FG, but the next team is forced to try and win? its much easier to stop a team from scoring a TD than a FG.
  20. Deferring is always the smart choice, because it gives you the only opportunity to have back to back possessions. Not to mention your offense has the entire first half to analyze the defense and come up with a way to attack after halftime.
  21. please list which "successful" 3-4 teams do NOT have a monster DL. The Ravens have one of the best DL in the biz, as do the patriots*.
  22. Congrats. You have managed to devise a system that is somehow exponentially worse that the current system.
  23. Then again, we wouldn't get very much back, because dont we have a "right" to settle our debts/back taxes for next to nothing? That's what the commercials say. Welcome to America, where your problems are always someone else's fault.
  24. http://nolesports.tallahassee.com/article/.../FSU03/90202011 what a dumbass. three strikes and yer out. kid was a hell of a playmaker for the 'noles, but we don't need his trash around. He was a junior this past season, so i'm not sure if he'll try to transfer somewhere else and play 1 more season, or if he'll try to sign with someone after the draft.
  25. If i was tomlin and the 3rd down pass had been incomplete (assuming no flag) i would have taken the safety on 4th down as opposed to punting from my own endzone.
