  1. I've been trying to get psyched for it, but having a hard time. I will admit that Rhys Ifans is a selling point with me...I don't think most people in this country realize how solid of an actor he is, but he's an excellent character actor with a tremendous amount of range. If he's given the right material, he'll elevate the role. I'm definitely looking forward to Batman, though...an even better character actor, Tom Hardy, should steal the show. He won't be the draw that Heath Ledger was as the Joker, but his performance should be on par. Hard to imagine Nolan won't give him lots of great lines to feast on.
  2. LOL...that is so awesome, man. It's very rare that I ever find myself being envious of someone in any way, but I truly and sincerely am in awe of your reading ability. I would love to be able to do that.
  3. Very interesting...I love this stuff and will definitely pick up a copy of that book. Just cause I'm fascinated by your reading habits, how long did it take you to get through those 608 pages?
  4. Do you think the accuracy results were legit? I keep picturing my Grandfather and great uncles sitting in a windowless room in metal chairs watching this video.
  5. fresh-faced beauty!
  6. I know, right? lol I don't care who you are or how much experience those soldiers have, when faced with being blown away by that German .42, it's going to be intimidating as all hell. I think coming to this realization is the adult version of finding out Santa isn't real as a kid.
  7. HFB, O'Captain, my Captain!!
  8. lol, exactly...I also wonder whether the comparison was fully truthful or if there was a pinch (or more than a pinch) of propaganda thrown in for good measure. It would be interesting to see how many hits those guns earned in a re-match. Not that I'm being cynical when it comes to our government, of course
  9. Some of you guys may remember one of my dogs passing away back in Feb. Several of you encouraged me to get a new pup when I was ready, so I took that to heart. I'm not really in a position to get another one of my own just yet, but I did the next best thing - I encouraged my friend to buy one LOL. I am this puppy's Godfather and I'm helping to raise him. He is from a rescue and he's an 11 week old (now 12, actually) cockapoo named Teddy. We were going to change his name when we got him, but for some reason it just fits him so we kept it. He's just getting over a respiratory infection, but he's honestly really impressing me. He's already 90% potty trained, lots of personality, and quite smart. I wanted to capture one of his skills on video to share with you guys, cause this really impressed me. My standard poodle is extremely smart, but in all honesty I really don't think he has any idea where he lives. But this little guy has only been here for a few days and he knows EXACTLY where his home is. Check it out! PS. Sorry if the video is on its side. I have made the edit, but it takes a while for it to take effect.
  10. Wow, that was surreal watching that. Almost transports you back in time and makes you feel as if you're in the position of being a newb soldier. Loved seeing all of that hardware...pretty fascinating stuff. Im going to call bullshiznit on the narrator when he says "the new guy is crapping himself, but the rest of the platoon knows there is nothing to fear"
  11. That definitely gives me some hope, but Federer is much more vulnerable on other surfaces. On grass he's nearly unstoppable unless up against Nadal or Djokovic. I would love to see Murray win it for the Queen, but I fear it will be Federer lifting his leg and marking his territory once again.
  12. The final is going to be completely lame...like leading a lamb to slaughter.
  13. Djokovic is really crapping the bed here at the end of the third and early into the fourth set...if he can't pull this out, Federer will win another damn Wimbledon
  14. I'm ready, brother...not much longer now!
  15. I sort of feel bad for the Brits...they are clearly some of the best, most supportive tennis fans in the world, and England is the home to what is easily the greatest championship in the sport. Yet they are perennially teased with the likes of Tim Henman and Andy Murray year after year at Wimbledon. I would say it's akin to being a Bills fan, but it's more like being a Browns fan...they don't endure heartbreaking loss after loss when it's all on the line, they never quite get to the finals to begin with. They basically settle for being vigilant as to which foreign players pay the tourney the most respect and who are the most gracious winners, in lieu of being able to celebrate a champion of their own.
  16. https://mog.com/#!pr MOG was purchased by the parent company of Beats by Dr.Dre, Beats Electronics. I"m actually pretty happy about this. My taste in headphones surpasses what is currently offered in the Beats headphones line, but I think having solid corporate backing by a very visible and "hip" company will only solidify and expand the quality of the MOG music service. Even though their gear isn't my preference, Beats does bring the focus back to higher fidelity audio, and that is perfectly in-line with what MOG offers. I can see myself being a member of this service for quite some time, especially in light of this news.
  17. Sorry man, I really did want to see you guys win...Spain has won enough...I'm getting sick of seeing them now.
  18. Wow, I didn't see this coming. I don't mind watching Spain when they play this way. For those who don't understand the game well, that first goal by Silva had a difficulty level that was off the charts. One of the most impressive goals of the tourney for sure, maybe even the best. This is more along the lines of how I saw Germany playing the Azzurri...very surprising so far.
  19. 32 would be absolutely perfect, I agree. I would eat, sleep, and breathe college ball...no question about it.
  20. Have you watched all of S4 yet?
  21. Even though I'm an SEC guy, I would have LOVED to see Okie St play for the title last season. I would have had no problem at all with Bama winning if they'd won it in a playoff system. But as you said, given the emphasis on the regular season, Bama shouldn't have had a 2nd shot at LSU, IMO.
