Does Your Dog Have GI Issues and/or Fart Excessively?
ajzepp posted a topic in Off the Wall Archives
My dog has had mild GI difficulties since he was a pup. Every so often he would develop the most pungent, permeating gas I've ever been around. Usually accompanying the gas would be mushy, often runny stools that would cause me to either have to get up out of bed to take him out or to scrub some of the nastiest smelling s**t out of the carpets when I got up. I thought maybe he had some sort of irritable bowel issue or doggie Crohn's or something, but when I took samples to the vet they never really could figure out what was going on. They did put him on a special dog food once, but he hated it and refused to eat it. I was careful not to give him any human food and I tried different brands of dog food, but to no avail. Well, I happened to see some of the dog food reviews on Amazon and I noticed that one brand in particular - Natural Balance (the Dick Van Patten brand) - had near universal praise. I read more of what people were saying, and several of them had issues like my dog was experiencing. Others were talking about how their dog had skin allergies and such that were triggered by what they ate. Well, I learned more about "Limited Ingredients Diets", and decided to try the food. It's been about two months now and the difference is amazing. The apartment has been free of any unwanted doggie flatulence, I have not been bugged to be taken outside a single time, no messes have occurred, and on top of all that he actually LIKES the food! His stools have been much more consistent and formed, too. If that weren't enough, my other dog - a 15 y.o. Bichon - has always had a bit of a constipation issue since HE was small. Well he's been on this food too, and he poops like a champ. He doesn't strain nearly as much and he's not squatting in the ready position for like ten mins as he used to do. In fact, not to get too graphic here, but the first week he was on this stuff you would not BELIEVE what came out of him. He must have been far more backed up than I ever imagined, cause he was rollin' out like 7" logs back to back, and this is from a little 20 lb dog! The only drawback I can see is that the food is a bit more pricey (although I'm happy to pay it given the results!) and it smells really bad. Aside from that, I order right from Amazon and the UPS guy brings the bag right to the door...in the words of the immortal Charlie Sheen..."WINNING!" Here's a link to the stuff I'm talking about: www.naturalbalanceinc.com -

Charlie Sheen ladies and gentlemen, Charlie Sheen

That was dumb...they should have given the guy a raise! -
I had never heard of her until yesterday either...but I definitely won't forget her anytime soon I get your point, though, but thankfully the biggest of all the has-beens was booted off yesterday. How long can you milk the "teen idol" thing? At least Dick Clark kept himself relevant all these years.

Well said. When you make objective observations about differences among people, cultures, races, ethnicity, etc., that is not racist. When you use said differences as a means by which to oppress, discriminate against, prejudge, criticize, berate, etc., then it becomes racist. It's a diverse world and people have differences...to pretend they don't is just silly. I love the fact that there is so much diversity in the world. I find people to be fascinating and I think it would get pretty boring if everyone were a 38 y.o. pudgy white guy like me. As for the NFL, in terms of who quarterbacks our team, I would want the same characteristics in a player for that position no matter their skin color. I want someone with a winners mentality who can be aggressive, but who can also reign it back when the situation calls for it. I want someone dedicated to learning his craft and someone coachable. I want a player who will play as well or better in the bigger games as he will during the regular season against teams we should beat. I want someone who leads a respectable life off the field, and I also want someone who embraces the community of B-lo and Bills nation. I don't care if that person is green with a raging zit problem....if he fits that description, I want him.

Um, HELLO?!? Can we please get back to focusing on Estban now? Thanks -
So let me get this straight, KD...you're going to tell me that you have the capacity to actually succeed in forgetting HER??? Yeah, I'm sure you're exactly right. Especially since ratings for last season were pretty lousy, they need to keep the more interesting folks on a while. Besides, Richard did a fairly good job at organizing and carrying out the task, it's just that nobody brought any damn money in. Even if they would have had that $35k from the FDNY they still would have been like $20k short. I loved how Hatch was saying how hard Jose worked on one hand, and then saying how he felt he was "lacking intelligence" in the very same sentence...that's hilarious! Then you had little B word Cassidy in the lobby telling Jose how smart he thought he was...

Since you're a movie guy like me, allow me to make a recommendation. Mike White is actually a very talented actor, and he's capable of being very effective. Here's one to add to your list: Chuck and Buck. Not sure about the frog thing....in the past, whenever someone failed to completed a challenge, Phil and co went to where they were to give them the news.

When it comes to guitar instruction for beginners, there is only one name El Poojer needs to know... ...say it with me... ...it rolls off the tongue with ease... ...the name is.... ...Esteban! (I don't really know if this guy is a good teacher or not...just like to say his name) -
Busey rules!! I'm so glad that the Trumpster fired David Cassidy's B word ass instead of Hatch. Not that I'm a big Hatch fan, but the guy keeps things stirred up and interesting. Cassidy wouldn't stfu when Hatch was delegating in the beginning, and then the dude whined endlessly all the way through the boardroom. When they were sitting in the lobby waiting for Trump to call them back in, what does he do? He starts majorly kissing Jose Canseco's ass paying him huge compliments so that he'll support him against big scary Richard once they got back in front of Trump. That's exactly what all three Trumps picked up on, and as a result they booted that whiny little B word. I thought Dionne Warwick was gonna go postal on Star Jones when Star was getting on her about her speed They need to just forget about the regular Apprentice. That was fun while it lasted, but these crazy celebs make the show much more interesting.

I like Mike White and his dad, but for fux sake, why does every frickin leg of the race have to end up with them bawling like babies and having to pull dad from the challenge so he doesn't kill himself? If he's that unstable health wise, maybe he should have maybe considered NOT going on a race around the world? It was touching the first time they ever became emotional, but my gosh, after the fourth and fifth time it just sort of loses its effect. And what's with that half-assed effort when looking for the frog?? They were both just walking around reaching down into the mud trying to find it. The teams that found it quickly got their asses FULLY down in the mud crawling around trying to find it with some urgency. If at least one of them would have done that, chances are they wouldn't have needed to get evaluated by the medical staff. Anyhoo...Japan is one of my favorite stops on the race. This is the third or fourth time I've seen a race where Japan was a part of the race and it's been a fun leg each time. Such a rich culture with people who seem very approachable and fun. If they would just stop murdering dolphins, I could really get behind that country. (okay, sorry for the political anecdote there....just really enrages me) I was really surprised to see the red head(s) mocking the Japanese gentleman for saying "hummm....hummm over and over". Usually they're very respectful and tolerant of people in their home countries. Seems like they were right...would have been much more reasonable to just ignore the fact that someone just drove by too close to my vehicle and knocked off my mirror....no big deal. That guy was nothing but a drama queen. Apparently he didn't realize these were real live NFL cheerleaders. Maybe he'll think twice the next time.

haha, true, I don't remember seeing many plays that were as awesome as Tyrod's throw last year...Va Tech hadn't been doing a whole lot up to that point, so when that came out of nowhere I was really impressed by it. Helluva toss! I also like how he kept his focus downfield. He didn't just give up on the play and use his wheels...he kept trying to make something happen with his arm, and it paid off

I would love it if they focused on D and Oline with the first few picks. And here is the pass I was referring to in my earlier post...this is the sort of playmaking ability we need! (Nothing against Fitzy...he's awesome)

IMO, this is very good advice. When I was looking for my first apartment back in 1991, my mom (who was in real estate) suggested I contact a real estate agency. I didn't really think it made a lot of sense, but it was extremely helpful. Having both owned my own home and been a renter, I'm one of these weirdos who tend to prefer apartment life. It would be different if I had a family, but when I was growing up apartments used to be sort of a place where people stayed until they could get a real house like the rest of us. But today you have a lot of very affordable apartments and complexes that are extremely comfortable that are very enjoyable places to live. I moved into my current place last August. It has two master bedrooms, 2.5 bath, nice sized living area and a dining area that I actually converted into an office/secondary living room for my fther when he lost his job. We've got a nice pool, exercise room, hot tub, car washing port, security gate, etc. It's relatively quiet, the maintenance staff is responsive, and it's very safe. On top of that, I'm about half a mile from the offices and training camp for the Atlanta Falcons, so I can head over there to watch practice in the summer whenever I want. I actually enjoy paying rent here lol. But anyway, yeah, take Erynthered's advice...good luck!

Ugh, you're exactly right....I am feeling ashamed of my oversight.

Same here...I live even closer to Athens than you probably do and saw most of the UGA games (on tv). J.Houston is a solid player on a VERY average, unspectacular UGA defense. I would have no problem with the Bills picking him up with our 2nd round pick.

Whenver I saw Tyrod in a game situation last year, the dude was making a play. Even in that bowl game, there was one play where he rolled out toward the sideline, and while almost being pressured out of bounds and backwards at the same time, he let loose this rocket of a pass into the endzone for a TD...it was one of the best passes I had seen all season and I watched a LOT of college ball last year. I would love for the Bills to grab this kid with one of the latter picks.

Holy crap, 24 pages on a uniform change that hasn't even officially come out yet? I had no idea you guys were this much into fashion.

I very, very, very rarely watch scripted television or else that might be a great solution for me That's so true -
Not everyone feels as I do, of course, but I strongly believe that you keep your tribe as strong as possible until the merge. Reason being, original tribe loyalties tend to continue to exist beyond the merge, and if the other tribe has the numbers advantage, you're facing an uphill battle. So aside from the fact that I'm pissed about Russell being voted off from a fan standpoint, I just think it was asinine to do it at this point in the game when you barely have an advantage over the other tribe. They had won the first two immunity challenges and they very well could have won the third. Russell is still just one player, and they would have had plenty of time to vote him off later on. And yeah, if memory serves they plant a new idol as soon as one of them gets put into play. Russell not only became the first player to ever find one without the benefit of a single clue, he repeated that feat a second and third time within the same season. His first season was a thing of beauty...the guy played one of the best games ever, but the jury pussied out and gave the money to a coattail riding bimbo.

Pretty damn...

I think the contestants are a helluva lot more likeable this season too...I don't remember really giving a crap about much of anyone the last two seasons, saave for maybe Crystal. I really like some of these current folks, though. What surprises me about the ratings is that I really just figured the show would fall from grace, and pretty much from the get-go. For it to be still performing this well is a surprise, IMO. I agree with what you said, though...how it holds up over the next few weeks will tell us a lot. Even the XFL had good ratings in the first week or two lol. I agree. That's why I think the Jacee thing may have come into play a little here. Both clint and jordan came off like douches to a degree, so when America didn't vote them into the top 10, maybe the judges felt they just weren't deserving...I dunno. I'm pretty happy with the finalists the way there are since it's mostly the right people. Usually it doesn't really matter who is 13th or 14th or whatever but this year there were still some talented people in those spots. A couple of them should have auditioned last year...probably could have won the damn thing.

yeah, I've never heard of that club, but if YOU'VE never heard of them then they must be some obscure fuggers...I'll definitely keep tabs on that game and hope they advance...need to see if my Bremen boys are playing, although they prob suck now that Air Klose is playing elsewhere. Also need to make sure I take off work for when the champs league final takes place....that's one of my favorite days of the year! Still remember that scene when it was in Moscow last year or the year before...that was amazingly beautiful. Illuminated pitch with Moscow at night in the background...unreal
