Vixxen is a major fuktard. How many times is she gonna completely freak about something ridiculous? Her entire cerebral cortex shuts down and she's just plan pathetic when that happens. GET A GRIP ALREADY! Some of the challenges are hard and for different reasons...just take it one step at a time and you'll get through it. But when you have a meltdown to the point where you can't even read a compass for an entire HOUR, thus completely screwing ur team, then it's time for therapy. I think China may be the most geographically beautiful country on earth. Every time I see sights like what they showed tonight, it is just humbling. I still remember last season when they showed so many images of Beijing. I was shocked at how modernized and technologically advanced this city has become, in addition to its pure immensity. It's too bad I have so many issues with other aspects of China, because I'm naturally drawn to such rich and ancient cultures. China is truly a marvel. Christina's dad is ridiculous. This guy is a grown man, yet he's ranting and raving like a total lunatic, raging at people for no reason, throwing things at moving vehicles...ridiculous. As we discussed earlier in the thread, Christina is a very level-headed and attractive young woman...I wish her much happiness in her marriage. (Didn't they say she was marrying one of the guys who was racing during the same season?) I laughed when the clue talked about hammering out the "molten candy", and the first thing that dumbass ginger did was stick her hand in the mixture..."oh wait, I think it's burning me..." REALLY??? I love this show

In my opinion...and this is ONLY my opinion...I think that even though this is the great melting pot, there is still a distinct African American culture just like there is a distinct hispanic/Mexican culture, greek culture, etc. My OPINION is that the value of education is simply not prioritized as it should be among certain cultures in the US and there is a lack of confidence that pursuing an education is the most effective way to improve one's lot in life. Education is simply not valued as it should be, and thus other ways of "success" are prioritized higher. Particularly with our young folks who grow up in poorer socioeconomic areas of the country, education has GOT to be presented in a way in which it can be embraced and valued, and I think many of our leaders today simply fail to provide them the opportunity to do exactly that. I don't believe for a second that it has to do with skin color. A few years ago I read that the highest IQ ever recorded (at that time) was that of an African American female. Even though I tend to depart from Obama in certain areas in terms of his politics, I think this was the perfect time to have the first African American president. We need more visible AA leaders and achievers, and we have got to educate our young people of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds or this country is doomed. And that leads me to my last point: The family structure. The traditional family unit is on life support. Kids today simply don't have that strong parental influence as many of us did in the past. I had the benefit of tight family structure as far as the eye could see when I was growing up, and I give that a LOT of the credit as to why I'm (arguably) a well-adjusted, successful person who has achieved educationally and professionally. I had parents who were married all my life and who were involved with me every step of the way. I had grandparents who were married for decades and who had a huge impact on my upbringing, and I even had extended family who further modeled the tight-knit traditional family unit. No divorces anywhere to be seen, education was valued across the board, many of the men had proudly fought in the World Wars, Korea, and Vietnam, and there was healthy communication and support among generations. I'm the richest man in the world because of that...I truly feel that way. And it makes me sad to think that that sort of environment is becoming more and more rare these days. Anyway, the point is that I feel that the cultural influences on our youth is very, very powerful, and until we change our focus and learn to value healthier things, we're screwed.

Bills show 'interest' in Adam Weber, Minny QB
ajzepp replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fifty-One damn interceptions??? Holy crap....if he can't put the ball in the right spot in college, he sure as hell won't be able to do it in the NFL. -
Nobody who truly loves football would be able to deal with that, man... THEY BETTER BRING ME MY FOOTBALL DAMMIT!!!!!
-
Completely agree man. The little people rely on the NFL as an escape, especially during tougher economic times like we've been in recently. Sunday football is part of the fabric of American culture...hell, if I had a dime for how many times my excitement and anticipation for an NFL weekend got me through a stressful shift in the hospital, I'd be rich. For these people to completely FAIL in their negotiations is a huge kick in the balls to those of us everyday folks who have real jobs, families, bills, stress, etc...and especially those who DON'T have jobs. Hell, if I were the judge, I'd force these morons to donate 1% of total GROSS revenue for the 2011 season to a charity of the fans' choosing....and I'd increase that by 1% for every week this crap went on without an agreement. They - both the owners and players - seem to take their riches for granted...maybe when forced with the threat of having less to argue over they will get their act together. Ridiculous... Thank you for protecting our country, brother....God bless our military

I purposely avoid getting all caught up in this crap, but I generally side with the players due to the physical risks that come with playing the NFL game. That being said, the players were the ones who walked away from negotiations, so they can go suck it. That's one thing Goodell said that's 100% true...if you refuse to negotiate, nothing will get done. I work in health care, primarily with retirees who worked for the state of GA. They just got news that the state is far more in debt than they realized, and they're facing an increase of over $1200 in their annual medicare premiums for next year. These people can barely afford to pay their bills as is, and these fuktards can't find a way to decide how billions of dollars are going to be divided? Screw all of 'em.

Great point. That's another reason why I'm glad the judges are being honest. When you see a tape of that Interscope guy talking about how good a performance is going to be, and then it's NOT good, the judges could easily sort of dance and skirt around the issue so as to allow the producers to save face. They didn't do that, though. When something sucked, they said it sucked...regardless of what was said by the producers just prior to the song. I think this lends credibility to what's going on, you know?
-
Exactly...give him a country deal and get rid of him...I'm sure he's a nice enough kid, but he's a one trick Pony. Ooooh, a Garth Brooks song...how original and unexpected I'm not all that high on Thia either, but like you, I think she's got the potential to have a "moment". The other thing about this season is that, for once, I feel as if the judges are seeing the same performances I am. Before, there would be some major crapfest on stage that I'd hate, but the judges would praise endlessly. This year I feel like we're all watching the same performances. I honestly EXPECTED them to gloat all over Lauren's performance, whereas about half way through it I was saying to myself, "ugh...very disappointing..." But alas, the judges felt the same way and they let her have it. Steven likes just about everything, but J-Lo has really shown up and impressed as a judge. She is very honest and up front, and most of her critiques are dead-on. Lastly, I hope they have the money producers assisting with the finalists again...I really liked seeing behind the scenes a bit and hearing about some of the work these peopel have done. I liked that aspect of it, and I think it helps them to be more prepared as potential recording artists.

First time for everything I'll get all three wrong next week probably lol. I don't know what's up with Casey, but this is the 2nd blood transfusion he's required in the last few weeks...not good. Did you see that house that these fuggers are living in??? Seriously, wtf?? lol And I'm still hoping Karen gets it together, but I don't think she really has much of a fan base right now...I guess we'll see. Hopefully Scotty will be in the bottom 3 next week

I honestly wasn't even thinking about who did or didn't do it during this film. They actually set it up by showing video of some soap opera from back then, and then you see the cut in from CBS news about what happened. It wasn't so much a "who done it" type of documentary, it was more of a way to sort of experience it through the eyes of the media as they attempted to provide coverage of the event. BTW, I just checked and it's available on Netflix for anyone who uses that (super awesome) service...only for rental, though, not for streaming.

I meant to post this a few days ago but I forgot. Anyway, last weekend I was channel surfing and found this documentary on the History channel. I ended up being absolutely captivated by it, and it was perhaps the most surreal television viewing experience I've ever had. There is no verbal narration of the film...just actual video from the day of the assassination until the day of the funeral and the Jack Ruby/Oswald encounter at the jail, and some captions that help the viewer with the time frame of the events. I honestly felt as if I was living in 1963 and experienced it for the first time just as folks back then experienced it. I checked on Amazon and saw that it's available on DVD, too I highly recommend spending a couple of hours with this film.

"Also found in the core sample was a layer of methane..." Hmmm...apparently Lana has Spanish ancestors

I really don't understand these "pro days". In the last few days I've heard how amazing Mallett, Newton, etc have looked...they're basically just out there playing catch with receivers they already have a familiarity with! lol Hell, I used to have complete strangers come up to me at the Ralph when I was out passing the ball with my buddies...I can throw a football better than probably almost anyone on this board if we're talking backyard/parking lot football! I don't understand what is so impressive about these things...when there is no defense on the field, of COURSE these people will be able to make all the throws....wtf?
-
I don't really consider it outsmarting him, because Russell 1) knew he would be targeted, and 2) picked up on the the fact that the challenge was being thrown while it was taking place. If he had been outsmarted he would have been blindsided at tribal. He wasn't. He picked up on the strategy, tried to get around it and reverse the outcome, and came up one vote short when Foghorn Leghorn proved she had no balls to go along with that schlong.

It's not a stereotype unless an assumption is made about the other members of a particular group, that a given trait will also extend to them in addition to the member(s) in which it's observed. Just making an observation about something and commenting on it is not necessarily racist.

lol, Sandra can shove that money up her stanky fanooter!!!

I totally forgot about XXX...good call

I don't think it really mattered what his strategy was this game...they were planning to get rid of him first from the very first day of the show. Just so happens that they had to kitty-out in order to get it done because they know they aren't in Russell's league in terms of game play. And I don't really think that Russell has a set strategy. He has a set demeanor, but his strategy has proved to be very flexible and adaptive during his time on the show. He made temporary alliances all the time depending on what he needed to get done that particular week, and more often than not he was successful with it. I have seen all but a few seasons of this show, and I can't recall any other player that was anywhere near as effective as Russell getting others to do what he wanted. He always thought a few steps ahead, and when someone caught him off guard and became a threat out of nowhere, the dude could move the pieces around in order to get rid of that person at the next tribal. Hatch showed a lot of that during the first season, but Russell took it to a new level. I know a lot of you guys don't like him, and I don't neccesarily LIKE him either...but when you take that out of the equation and just look at the game play, I don't know how anyone could be viewed as better survivor than this guy. When he broke down, it was clear just how much of himself he put into this game. In his first season, he made it clear that what he truly coveted was the title of sole survivor....not the money. And for that coattail riding bimbo to not even grant him that, well, that's just pathetic. But anyway, clearly this was russell's last go, and when it hit him that it was over the emotions really took hold. I respect passionate people, whether I like them or not, and he was obviously one of the most passionate players ever. Too bad his tribe was composed of a bunch of losers.

My thoughts exactly

Same here...Russell was an innovator in this game. He did it his way and his way was pretty damn good. With all due respect to Fez, I get tired of people whining about how Russell was a big fat meanie, and how the "social game" was his downfall. It's frickin SURVIVOR. Everyone is out to back stab the next person, whether you're nice about it or not. Did that come into play and prevent Russell from winning? Yes, obviously. SHOULD it have? Hell no! The fact that the people on the jury were little bitches and were butt-hurt doesn't mean their cowardly decisions both times were correct. Russell loves the game and he is a true survivor. Russell was right when he went out last night and said it's impossible to play this game with a bunch of crybabies who throw competitions or get their panties in a wad because someone hurt their feelings. Like you guys, I'm really glad to see that Boston Rob is back to play. He was not into the game at all last time around, but his moves last night were awesome. He's got his tribe under his control for the most part and he's making some moves behind the scenes to position himself for success. Hopefully Phillip will continue to stir things up (I love when, at the very end of the show, Rob said, "Phillip seems to get on everybody's nerves...I think I need to KEEP him lol) and entertain us. I'm also starting to like the kid on redemption island...he's like a lone warrior out there and as of now I think there is a good chance he'll come back into the game.

I don't know if you watched the Oscars, but when they did the tribute to the actors/producers/etc who have passed away in the last year, Celine Dion was on stage singing her version of "Smile". This was where I thought Thia was going with it, and if she WOULD have gone in that direction it could have been a big moment for her. I hadn't heard the song in ages, and maybe it was because of I was feeling a bit nostalgic watching some of the people they were paying tribute to at the Oscars, but Celine just killed it. Thia should have stayed with the tone she set in the first half and I think that would have been great...but she fugged it. I definitely agree with you about Ashton's hotness...she's smokin! I just wish she had sang a little better last night Definitely agree with you about "I believe I can fly", and I don't see how anyone can say R.Kelly is their frickin IDOL lol. But he had another big moment with it and I really enjoyed his performance.
