  1. I was very impressed by that...that's exactly what she should have done. The only thing I may have tried first would have been to avoid having Trump fire one of the guys, but to give Marlee the choice of bringing any member of the men's team over to the women's team. That way you have additional strength in numbers and an extra buffer for the next board room. But given the circumstances, she made the right choice.
  2. Same here...I would have been pissed if Gary had been fired. I would have preferred the ladies lose and keep the guys around a bit longer, but I'd rather lose Hatch over Busey any day.
  3. True...there are two reasons for that: First of all, I'm completely biased. I don't necessarily like Russell as a person, but I love his game play. Second, Russell is really the only person who can carry out his style of game play successfully. He doesn't ever establish long term alliances. He may have one girl he stays with all game, but his alliances with others change at the drop of a hat. He never went after the strongest player per se, he went after whoever was the biggest threat to him at the time. Russell can pretty much strategize effectively from nearly every situation, so the game just isn't the same for him. The reason why I have been so critical of this dumbass tribe so far this season is because 1) I wanted Russell to stay on the show, so I'm butt-hurt over him being voted out, and 2) the mbrs of his tribe are just plain stupid. They don't have the ability to play the game like russell did, so voting out strong players hurts them in the long run. Russell would get to the merge, evaluate the situation, and make alliances accordingly. These idiots will be picked off one by one by Rob's team since that tribe will likely maintain their tribal loyalties. There are a couple wild cards, with Phillip being the most obvious, and they may all decide to go after Rob before doing anything else, but ultimately lurch, dopey, she-he and the rest of them will be sitting ducks.
  4. James: Yeah, I tend to agree with what you wrote in your spoiler type...the more I think about it, the more it bothers me. It was a fun ride when it was all going down, but it doesn't hold up well in retrospect. Unlike Black Swan, which I saw recently....the more I contemplate that film the more I appreciate it. I know they are two totally different films, but I saw them both in the past week and they have resonated with me in completely different directions since the viewings. Dev/null: Heck yeah...I've seen it three times now...absolutely loved it. Sam Rockwell is a very underrated actor. I'm really glad that he got that part
  5. Amen brother
  6. Thank God the next generation of Star Wars fans is healthy
  7. Anything in particular?
  8. LOL definitely...and I'm envious that you have such a vast resource available to you here to take part in that simple pleasure! haha, if only the objects of my sight-seeing were more stalker worthy
  9. Ohhh, ok...I must have missed that
  10. Not to generalize or stereotype here, but honestly man, girls from S.Jersey and SE PA are very down to earth, family oriented, straight forward, and real. When I lived there, I was going to school full-time and working full-time, all three semesters (incl summer). One of my biggest regrets was that I didn't spend more time meeting girls and getting myself out there, because I truly believe I may have met the right girl for me if I had. As pretty as southern girls tend to be, I'd take a Jersey girl and/or Philly girl any day of the week and twice on Sunday. There are always exceptions, but given what you said about your girl, you'll have a lot of fun getting to know her. And she'll likely be focused much more on who you are and the time you spend together than she will be on superficial things. I don't know what you look like, but it sounds as if maybe you're concerned that she's a bit out of your league physically. I tell you what...that's one of the biggest differences between that part of the country and somewhere like here (Atl) or maybe like Cali or whatever: You see a LOT of couples back up your way that outwardly appear to be mismatched in terms of physical attractiveness. There are women everywhere who are into looks and money, or whatever else, but it's much less prevalent back up your way, IMO. You see hot girls with average looking guys all the time. They just aren't as much into that. I couldn't help it! I would throw a putt here and there, but you were sending the ball off onto the other holes for gosh sakes lol. You have to admit, that was a pretty cool course, though....you don't see many of them set into a nature scene like that.
  11. Philly girls are cool like that Pooj probably has a keeper on the hook.
  12. It seems like the older I get, the more I appreciate doing exactly that. The other night when we had that super moon thing, I was so enamored with it that I just sat there and stared up into the sky for like thirty mins. Other days, like today, it's satisfying to just watch nature and people outside my apartment go about their day. Just sort of taking everything in, even though there isn't anything THAT exciting going on, is very relaxing and enjoyable.
  13. I think what happens is that the agents start bitching and whining about the thought of a reduction in the rookie contracts, and since they typically support the union, the union and the vets tend to be less interested in making the rookie cuts. But yeah, I totally agree that it would seem the vets would want the rookie caps in place since they'd have access to a larger portion of the pie...I dunno, this whole thing is so screwed up...
  14. Yep, no doubt...it would be akin to asking the girl to pay for dinner or something if you took out some coupon thing when the check arrived.
  15. You're on a roll today, brother
  16. I've always been the sort of person who can be pretty happy without a whole lot, so it just got me to thinking about what other people find happiness in doing that may be considered "simple". I decided to take a couple days off this week to rest up my back, and right now I'm sitting in my living room...door to my 3rd floor deck open with my dogs out there on a nice warm, breezy, sunny Atlanta day...typing to my TBD buddies online and waiting for my Braves game to come back from rain delay. This is a pretty damn nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon, IMO. I'll worry about tonight's plans later, but for the time being I'm very content enjoying my day as is. What are some ways that you guys find enjoyment from simple circumstances?
  17. All the more reason to stop making these kids multi-millionaires before they do a frickin thing on the field.
  18. Seems like I've heard a few stories like this in Japan...dogs are awesome!
  19. I think you should frame it properly, so to speak. Call up the girl and say something like, "hey, I have one of this coupon things for so-and-so, and I thought this might be a good excuse to head over there and see if they're any good"....something like that. Frame it in advance instead of pulling that bad boy out when it's time to pay and, as Chef said, coming off like a cheap bastard. Then make sure you leave a good tip
  20. He also was responsible for one of my favorite sci-fi films of all time, and one of my favorite films of the past couple years - "Moon". It's been a good while since I saw a film on opening day, but I went to check out Source Code today. It was really good, but you have to really suspend your disbelief or you'll probably not care much for the ending. I was on board with the "science" for the most part, but when films sort of don't follow their own rules it can be an easy target for criticism. That said, it held my attention for the duration, the acting was solid, and I am a sucker for fun sci-fi/time travel type stuff. The ending took a few too many liberties, but it's worth a trip to the theater for sure.
  21. I held on to my antiquated phone for a long time, but finally took the dive into smart phones last Fall. I did a bunch of research and listened to all that the sales people had to tell me, and I went with the iPhone4. I don't have as much experience with other smart phones as Stojan and a lot of others on here, but I would not trade this phone for anything. Just the retina screen alone is enough to keep me where I am...I did not see anywhere near as nice of a display on any other phone I looked at. This is my fourth Apple product and I have yet to have a single problem with any of them. PS. I have three fart apps.
  22. Yes, that would definitely suck...I'd like to see him re-enter the game and see the impact it has on the merge.
  23. Let's see... Idol: 2-3hr Survivor:1hr Amazing Race:1hr Top Chef:1hr Office:30min Apprentice:2hr About 8.5 hr per week for shows...then probably another 2-4 hr per week is spent watching NFL Network/ESPN. I actually watch less tv than a lot of people. I don't watch any scripted shows except for the Office, and that is almost over with. During football season it's obviously significantly more, but I dont watch many tv shows at all (relatively speaking).
