That's right, man...people need to show more sympathy for this guy...it's not like he assaults cops, drives drunk, or beats up women...he's probably just misunderstood.

Maybe...but the Flyers are like the 90's Bills...can't quite win the big one, but resilient as hell. They came back after being down 0-3 in the first series last year, they'll pull this one out Yeah, but come on...my boys came back from three goals to take it to OT...that must have been a bit unnerving for ya -

Amen brother! NFL will always be #1 for me, but soccer is a very close 2nd. In terms of the world stage, nothing can come close to comparing to this sport. As for baseball, I'm a diehard Braves fan and catch at least part of their games as often as possible. I'm a marginal fan of the rest of the teams until October, then I'll usually get pretty excited about the playoffs and series. And I agree with Clippers and others who feel baseball live is much better than TV. I love going to the stadium for a game...fantastic experience!

Sure If they Flyers lose - which they won't - I'd want to see the Sabres win the whole thing. I'm not anti-Sabres, just pro-Flyers -
I'm just glad that all these losers tend to always sign with the Dolphins. They have a history of bringing in thugs, which has always made it that much easier to hate them. Screw the Dolphins and screw Brandon Marshall.

Yep, you hit it right on the head about how the bomb is the most exciting play in football. Heck, I still remember that pass Randall Cunningham made out of his own endzone against our Bills back in the early 90s...the dude winged it like 60 yds in the air for a sick completion. Or how bout Brett Favre running around all over the place against the Lions in the Silverdome, all of a sudden reaching back and LAUNCHING a massive bomb to Sharpe for a TD. Or how about when Fitzy reached back and launched with all his might a perfect bomb strike to Stevie in the endzone against the Steelers this past...err...wait, scratch that...But yeah, these plays tend to be the ones that stay in our minds and they are exciting as hell when they happen.

I have to admit, I have often become enamored with rocket arms. As I've matured in my evaluation of the game, however, I've largely come off of this notion. There was an interesting piece on NFL Network yesterday called "Top 10 Myths of the NFL" or something like that, and one of the myths they were debunking was the need for a QB to have a huge arm. They touched on many of the same points we've discussed on this board ad nauseum, but they had a Joe Montana quote that I thought was very interesting. He said, "In this game I don't throw darts at balloons...I throw balloons at darts." It got me thinking back to when Joe was signed by KC at the end of his career. I still remember thinking, 'wow, this guy doesn't get much on his balls, but somehow they always land where they need to land." And that's the truth of the matter...it's much more about vision, anticipation, and ball placement than it is a rocket arm.

Good read, thanks Astro... I enjoy reading all the projection type articles and blogs, but I'm even more interested in analyses of past drafts and if any correlations were found among variables that were identified at the time of the draft. I've seen things like the Parcell's QB drafting criteria, but that doesn't seem to hold a lot of water in terms of real world application. I'm just curious if anything is ever gleaned from all this pre-draft analysis and the way these kids actually develop 3, 5, 10 years after the draft, you know?

haha, yes, the gorilla version would definitely be more appropriate Cool find on that video! I often go to the CBS website when I miss an episode, but I've never seen those post-elimination videos. Interesting to see the rice as part of his first meal...I would imagine that sort of helps his system to transition back to real food. It's also interesting to hear his comments about how little he could eat. I always wondered about that, cause when you see them win reward challenges, they often pig out on the food like they are gluttons. It would only be logical to assume how much their stomachs have shrunk after being on the show a week, two weeks, etc...so I wonder if they feel like major crap after they go on one of those binges? lol The Ponderosa looks like quite the lifestyle, though! And I may be the only one who feels this way, but I thought Dr. Ramona was kinda sexy

That will be the turning point in Rob's game, IMO. The ONE decision he needs to be very careful about is the Phillip decision. Right now, you have Phillip talking about how important loyalty is to him. Rob has GOT to be careful not to openly give Phillip a reason to become disloyal. If Rob is smart, he'll ride Phillip's mentality right to the million bucks...I don't think for a minute that Phil will stab Rob in the back unless given ample reason. If Rob is smart enough to realize that, he's golden. But if he starts pissing Phillip off, Phillip will go apeshiit onthe guy lol.

haha, I just ordered the Muse album off of Amazon because I enjoyed that song so much
-
Potentially big news here.... Apparently the people at Dish Network were majorly pissed off about last night...but people at Showtime have taken interest and today Alki said a deal is in the works to broadcast on Showtime at night
-
I give Scotty the fast forward treatment now too...the guy sounds the same every week to me. I don't understand the love affair with this kid at all. James KILLED that Muse song, man...I loved that performance...Durbin POWER BABY!!! I enjoyed Haley and Lauren, and I thought Jacob was just okay. The guy just seems a bit self-absorbed to me and I don't really care much for the whole "diva" mentality...especially in a gay dude lol. Stefano and Casey were good...nothing special, though, IMO. Was nice to see Pia back

Exactly...Rob is in such a good position right now, if not for Phillips antics this would be getting really boring. Would have been such a nice game of chess between Rob and Russell...each one of them trying to maintain loyalties while at the same time creating new ones...playing mind games with the less-cerebral survivors...going head to head in the competitions...oh, what COULD have been Voluntary, self-imposed exile to Redemption Island? I'm not sure either...I remember Rob saying something like, "I don't know that it even matters which one we send home this time"...but you'd think he would send Steve if he wanted the best chance at knocking Matt into the jury. Ralph is dumb as a box of rocks, so he probably wouldn't be much threat to Matt

Rob is the beneficiary of the moron tribe's decision to get rid of Russell. It would have been EPIC if we had Russell and his minions vs Rob and his minions once the merge hit. But since that's not the case, and since Rob has a solid degree of loyalty among his tribe mates, he can just sit back and watch the morons get voted off one by one. That being said, Rob would be stupid to even think about getting rid of Phillip right now. Phillip is like Rob's THIRD layer of buffer, and he needs to keep as many layers for as long as possible. There is quite literally nothing the morons can do...the next two weeks will be Steve and Ralph getting sent to Redemption...I just don't see either of them winning immunity and Rob's tribe seems quite content to just stick with the plan until the moron tribe is no more.

Well, there is a lot of dumb stuff that goes on....but then again, a while later there was a dude who put fireworks in his pants and set them off

Well...most of us who know what goes down on Battlecam figured this may happen...but Dish pulled the broadcast about a half hour early tonight and replaced it with an informercial for prostate relief. I didn't see it happen, but apparently one of the more moronic of the casters - a guy who typically rages on cam and plays with sock puppets - decided to have his puppets simulate oral sex with each other. After that, the broadcast was taken down by Dish. Not sure why they even tried to do this without the delay in place, but oh well....lol

Wow, that brings back some memories. I can still remember the music for that game...I heard it every time I walked into the theater back in the early 90s.
