That's good your wife helps "nudge" you to put it back on. I often find that I will doze off with the damn thing in my hand, and next thing I know it's morning Yep, I'd definitely go for a sleep study. It's really not as bad as it sounds. The biggest pain in the butt is getting you hooked up to all the wires and sensors. Once that's done, you just watch some tv, chill, and then try to sleep a few hours...they wake you up around 5 or 6am and you go home.

First of all, thank you for my freedom. Second, I remember when I was growing up in the late 70s and 80s, even when you disagreed with the president, you still respected him. I just don't understand how people have become so cavalier over the years. I understand exactly the point you are making.

You have a smart doc I really wish I could try those...my doc says "no", though. Apparently my apnea is too severe right now that he wants me on the full mask until I get some weight off. After last night, though, I'm much happier than I was before. This new mask is so much lighter and quieter that it was really quite a difference. And the big news? I was able to lay on my SIDE alllll night!!!! lol This maks seals MUCH better than my last one, and I feel as if I have much more freedom of movement with regard to head position. I strongly recommend you guys try out some different masks if you're not happy with your current one...or go with nasal pillows, like Wooderson said...there's just no reason to not use the cpap when there are options out there than can work.

Napoleon had a great short game.

Hey guys...thought I'd check in with an update. I've been really bad about replacing my mask. Until today, I've been using the same one since the first day I got the machine! lol Anyway, I was doing some research and found one that really looked promising. I called up my respiratory therapist and asked him to order me one...he wasn't all that excited about it since he doesn't make any money selling me this one, but he was cool enough to help me out anyway. So today it showed up, and I've already gotten it fitted properly and ready to go for tonight. I fired up the CPAP for about ten mins with the mask on, and so far it's A HUGE upgrade over my first mask. There is no forehead piece, so that's a plus...and the seal is much better on my face. It's also MUCH lighter and I love that it has clips that allow me to keep the tensioning consistent each night. Here is a link to the one I picked up: New Mask Have you guys tried any different masks or machines? How is everyone doing with it?

Yep. She's majorly hot. I live in an area of Georgia where there is a large hispanic/Mexican population. There are a lot of really pretty girls here. Most of them don't need an ounce of makeup, either, they just have really beautiful physical features. -
Exactly, cause you could tell when Phil asked them, "did you give ALL the money in your possession to the orphanage?" I don't remember any of the teams doing a WTF to Phil. They all acted as if they had read the sign, they just didn't follow it literally. I've never seen a leg where THAT many teams had to go back and fix something...pretty wild.

My life is shitttier for never having met him... RIP, Gene

Slow paced?? Seriously? I guess we just see it (completely) differently, cause it seems like it moves at a nice pace from start to finish, to me. You don't really sound appreciative of other cultures, so I guess if that's the case you're probably going to miss out on a lot of the appeal. Dude, the argument between the bro and sister was maybe the most annoying segment on this show...EVER lol. That was the most pointless, non-productive discussion/debate/argument in history. I'm with you about the sign...I can't imagine being on the race and not being observant of every single detail along each leg. How only one or two of the teams actually read it accurately is beyond me!
-
What is it about the show that makes you hate it? I didn't pay it any attention for the first several years it was on, but a few years go I got hooked. I love seeing them race around the world and interact with other cultures and traditions...not to mention the way the stress of the race can wreak major havoc on the relationships among and between the racers/teammates. You don't think the showgirls are hot? They have major annoyance potential based on what I've seen so far, but I think they're smokin'!
-
Yep, I was surprised at that. Grandma and Grandpa were off touring the country side, seemingly oblivious that they were even in a race...for them to have a non-elimination leg wasted on them was sort of silly. I'm glad those hot chicks who lost their passport made it, though...thank God for social networking!!!

Yeah, I'm gradually coming around to that...I think with J-lo and Marc Anthony it bugs me because they're Catholic (or were raised Catholic). To think she's already been married AND divorced three times by her early 40s is on pace for Liz Taylor status. It must start to feel sort of odd by the third or fourth time you say "til death do us part" to someone...how can you take yourself seriously? How will husband #4 find her vows meaningful at all? Oh well...it's her life lol.

You go! It's really great to see people who are havign success in marriage...that whole institution has really taken a beating over the last thirty years.

That would be sort of an interesting development, actually...all of a sudden the blue meth addicts start dropping like flies because Jesse mis-reads the name of a chemical...next thing you know, the blue meth is like the brown acid at Woodstock and everyone is avoiding it like the plague. Business comes crashing down...what is Gus to do? -

Gus is playing this all wrong. Relying solely on Jesse to cook the meth from this point forward is risking your ENTIRE empire on a kid with absolutely no education. It seems to be anti-Gus' character to be this cavalier about things, when all he would need to do is work things out with Walt and tender some peace. If I were Gus, I'd work with Walt on an exit strategy that involved bringing in another Gale as an apprentice. Walt's formula and techniques would be much better preserved in the mind of another science guy, not someone like Jesse. Bad move, Gus. Oh, and thank GOD we won't have to watch any more of Skylar and that business owner guy...I was getting really tired of that. Id much rather see more of the Gus/cartel/jesse/walt/mike stuff. -
Amen to this, brother Bill! I remember when we hired Gailey, Jerry Jones went out of his way to praise the hire and to say how he wishes he would have given Chan more time in Dallas. I wasn't really buying it at the time, and I wasn't thrilled with the hire, but I'm a Billiever now! There is no coach anywhere on the planet I'd rather have leading this team...guys like Cowher and Shanahan (and little Shottenheimer, and whoever else...) who didn't want to come here was a complete blessing in disguise...we ended up with EXACTLY the coach we needed, and this team has become exciting to watch again. What a great win...I'm in love with this team
-
I love this group we have currently...and more importantly, Fitzy loves 'em too!
-
My biggest hurdle was to overcome my disappointment when we hired Gailey as HC. I have never had any problem giving a new regime their fair time to right the ship before taking out past years frustration on them, but I just thought Gailey was a desperate hire. But now I can say with the utmost sincerity, there is NO OTHER COACH I'd rather have leading this team...Chan is the MAN!! GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
IIRC, the first year I had the NFL Network and was able to see combine coverage was the year Fitzy was in the draft. I remember thinking he actually looked pretty good during some of the drills. The commentators didn't seem too impressed with his prospects in the draft, though lol.

I hope so man, cause I don't want to see any more of that soap opera crap where Skylar falls for Mr Big Shot and cant keep her legs closed. Things are too intense to be concerned with infidelity...and clearly Walt doesn't give a crap anymore lol. And I LOVE the way they have written Jesse's character...they took it in a completely different direction than what I had anticipated. Last night's scenes with the Cartel reminded me of my favorite episode where Jesse and Walt were being held captive by that Cartel guy when his uncle wouldn't stop ringing that FARKIN BELL!!! -
This actually is very ironic for me. I remember a LONG time ago...at least five years probably...20/20 or some similar show had a segment on Netflix and they were interviewing Reed Hastings, CEO. Toward the end of it, he got really uneasy and said something like, "I've been in this position before where we built a successful business, but then we just made the wrong decisions and it all came crashing down...I just hope I'm smart enough to not let that happen again". SOMETHING along those lines...and it's been in the back of my mind ever since I saw it. Thanks for screwing up the best value (by far) for our entertainment dollar in the HISTORY of entertainment...moron! EDIT: Here is the link. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/12/01/60minutes/main2222059.shtml It's not QUITE as I remember it, but here is the line that stuck with me: "I definitely struggled as CEO," he acknowledges. "Now, we became one of the 50 largest software companies on the planet, but I definitely struggled."

Hell yeah it did! Take out the crap with Skylar and that idiot she was bangin', and this was a damn near perfect episode. -
Spouse has Alzheimer's? Divorce them, start over.
ajzepp replied to Beerball's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Alzheimers is awful. I've cared for numerous patients afflicted with it, but I've also been touched by the way their spouses and families (and friends) did anything BUT abandon them and "start over". I've been doing a lot of case management work lately, and one of the most rewarding aspects of my job is helping a mbr who has a spouse with Alzheimers learn about some of the resources available to them to help with their care. You can tell just by speaking with them how emotionally draining it can be to care for someone with this disease, but you can also tell that they love them just as much as they ever did. Pat Robertson is a dikfuk. Now, in the case of vaginal alzheimers, the man has every right to leave. -
True...I saw the HD transfer for the first time earlier this year, and it was like a completely new movie. I was just entranced by all the colors and visuals and detail...truly an amazing film!
