  1. At least she wasn't taking issue with the size
  2. beer battered haddock....mmmmmm
  3. I don't see this happening, BUT, you have to keep in mind what happened last year. I think teams (and we fans) were surprised at the run on QBs that went down...QBs with a later round grade were going in the first. You could argue that teams, including the Bills, are going to be making sure they don't miss out again this year if they have their minds set on drafting a QB.
  4. Nice to have a competent coach on that side of the ball again... Whatever the potential is of this defense, Wanny will get it out of them.
  5. It really does get confusing. I was confused as hell when I first started trying to make sense of it. Basically I tend to just focus on the Premiership in England and the Champs League. Champs League is some great futbal. I honestly give you credit for trying to give it a chance...I started playing when I was 4 y.o., so I don't know if the game is just in my blood or what, but I love nearly everything about it. I do understand the criticism that there aren't enough scoring chances, especially since we Americans are so accustomed to "money offense" in the NBA, NFL, NHL, etc. It is definitely a tough transition for us to go from our American sports with high scoring to one that is a bit less prolific. At the same time, most soccer matches are very streamlined and finish up in about 2hr. It's typically far less in terms of the time investment it requires
  6. "Your hypnotoad powers will not work on me, boy" Buftex's avatar is similar to a diagram I once saw in chapter 6 of the kama sutra...I give it a 7/10
  7. Soccer is the Buffalo Bills of the sports world...it never gets any respect, but for those who take the time to appreciate it it's a lot of fun Cowherd and ESPN talk about the Bills reluctantly, as well
  8. That's one tourney I don't even pay attention to...not sure how it works, I just know it's only for the English leagues (pretty sure anyway). Best soccer blog on the planet, IMO: http://www.soccerbyives.net/
  9. Wow, I hadn't seen that...probably another example of a young kid who didn't know he had a congenital heart issue until it went bad...if they had to code him on the field, that's not good. And yep, countries like Germany, England, Italy, Spain, and others have their own national leagues. The best teams from those leagues qualify for the Champions League the following year. The Champions League final is one of the "must see" sporting events of the year for me.
  10. haha, I'll make this easy on you guys...go ahead, I can take it... EDIT: Oh, wait...I forgot...don't have my Flyers avatar up just yet...hahaha
  11. Nice! They come with a 90 day warranty, so that's all we need really. Most electronics will break down in the first month or two if they're going to crap the bed at all. I can't get over how small this little guy is!
  12. I don't know enough about Floyd either way, but the Gamecocks are my favorite SEC team and I've seen a lot of Alshon. I'd be thrilled to see him in a Bills uni. I think he's game ready from day one in terms of being an NFL caliber wideout, and the guy just makes plays. He's got great size and he's been a difference maker for USC. Overall I still prefer defense with our top pick, but I'd be fine if we looked in Alshon's way.
  13. I always liked the names of my two most recent dogs: Obi and Fozzie. My uncle had a dog named Thor, and I grew up with a grandfather who named his dogs Shorty I and Shorty II. When I was a kid we raised standard poodles. My favorite one was about 85lb when he was grown and just huge...I named him "Brute", and the name was very fitting. Dogs are cool.
  14. Bummer...would have been nice but no biggie. I can't wait to hook up my ZO2 to this thing...amzing how good music can sound with such small portable gear
  15. Do you know if it gets AM radio? I only played with it a short time last night but all I saw was FM. I think my local sports talk station is on FM now, as well as AM, but would be nice to have both bands.
  16. Are you saying you want him here?
  17. I'm sorry, but you're completely wrong. Miami is a warm weather city where there is lots to do. Obviously they can sign any player they want to sign since every player wants to go there. There's no way anyone would ever choose to come to Buffalo when they could go to Miami.
  18. LOL...this kind of person is always interesting to me...I find myself always rooting for them to get blindsided or kicked out in some way, but then I end up missing all the sh*t they stir up once they're gone. It's sort of that "love to hate" effect.
  19. Good deal, Captain...I don't knwo if you've seen the new ones, but they're way cool. It's very small, but has more capacity than the 1st gen, has a nice interface, and even an FM radio built in. I am very impressed with it so far...
  20. I hope I'm right, too! lol I'm factoring in the growth curve here, along with what I've heard coaches say about the kid. With certain exceptions, I just tend to give rooks some room to make mistakes. To me, the most important thing is that they work hard, learn from their screw ups, and show growth...and I think he's on that path.
  21. I really hope you're right about that. I had heard that the cap hit was minimal THIS year, which made absolutely no sense to me. We need to get a big chunk of that cap hit to occur in year one, cause we have other FAs to sign in the next couple of years and we need the room. If a fourth of it comes off this year, then that's very smart, IMO.
  22. If you have a first gen Nano, I'd definitely either go in there or call them up...totally worth it.
  23. I agree. People were hard on him last season, but I think a lot of it was unfair. I think he'll end up being a solid player for us.
