Brandon Marshall on his way out of Miami
ajzepp replied to cantankerous's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember hearing that before, but being borderline doesn't create involuntary striking of women. I know he's challenged in terms of dealing with his emotions, but if that were my sister or daughter he was hitting I'd be going off on that guy. There's just no excuse for hitting a woman, IMO. BTW, I don't know if you saw my post a while back in one of your threads, but I had no idea you were a die hard Bama fan! -

This guy is the biggest d-bag in sports...thank God the Bills never sign a-holes like this guy. -
I'll never understood why the Sabres went away from those beautiful jerseys they had pre-slug. Thank goodness my Flyers would never do anything that absurd!

"So Mario, do you have any problem wearing diapers and making some "goo-goo" sounds during the press conference tomorrow?" -

I'm going to be perpetually crapping myself for the next 24 hrs...I thought this was all about posturing for one or both sides...I had no idea we were serious about signing this dude. I hadn't heard about Meachem before today, so that's a nice surprise as well. This would be a huge signing. -
Thanks for all the responses guys...much appreciated.

The deadline for what? voting?

Thanks for that head's up...I will definitely be listening to that. So stupid to fire him.... lol, I missed him say that...that's funny. Penn has been great so far...I'm glad he's on the show. And you're exactly right...as much of a nancy that Andretti was for not stepping up, Corrolla made completely legit arguments in defense of his being PM. And clearly the men did far better...did the women even answer one of the Q&A questions with a word other than, "ummm, durrrrrrr...." It was weak in a few areas, I agree...but I don't see how the women won that. They talked more about the CD player than anything else lol. I want to hear what Adam says about all this on the podcast...that will be interesting. lol, every time someone asks someone who should be fired, Lou starts with the twitch and I start laughing my arse off...that's been one of the most entertaining aspects of the board room so far...I can't wait to see him go hulk on someone.

lol, it is really weird to see him in that element...same with interviews. He's an interesting dude!

I had the exact same thought at the exact same point. When I was sitting here watching that scene where the asian kid was working on the stupid camper talking to that blonde, I was just about swearing at the TV..this came after those riveting scenes were the few of them were trying to figure out who was goign to sleep on the couch and who would get the bed...I couldn't believe that I was having to watch this crap. Then it finally turned around in the second half and culminated with a very intense sequence of events. Looks like the finale next week will be non-stop badassery, but overall I'd have to say this season didn't live up to expectations at all. I hope the finale goes a long way toward redeeming the show and sets us up for a thrilling S3.

So true...I think it was Beerball who first posted that video, and it's left a lasting impression on me for sure. I haven't touched a nugget since. -
To my knowledge you can't download the content...streaming only.

Ill vote for the Strangers and Robocop. The only film on that list I haven't seen is Strangers, and Robocop is the one I'd be most interested in revisiting.

I'm so pissed at Trump for canning Corrolla...he was a big reason why I was excited about this season...Andretti is the only one should should have gone home, but he was too much of a nancy to step up and be the PM from the beginning. Something else I've noticed is that I have a lot more respect for Penn Jillette than I ever did before. I've always enjoyed his comedy and his magic, along with Teller, but the times when he's gotten very political and allowed his atheist views to be front and center, it was sort of a turn off as to how "Bill Maher" he got. I was thrilled he was on the show, but he's really shown a lot more of a heart and more integrity than I ever thought he possessed. He seems like a genuinely good guy and I've enjoyed seeing him interact with the others so far. I don't mean this to sound sexist, although it probably will come off that way, but I really hate when shows like this one or Survivor end up with some of the more interesting males getting the axe early on, and being left with unbearably boring females the rest of the way. Thankfully we have a couple of firecrackers on the ladies side, and I love Lampinelli, but to lose Corrolla and be stuck with that one latina chick (not my baby Dayanna, but the other one) and one or two of the others is really lame. That redhead has shown to have some fire, but a few of the other ladies just sit there. The guys tend to have more balls and carry the show, so I hate to see them losing these tasks. If we had Joan Rivers, Melissa Rivers, and Annie Duke on here, that would be different...but we don't. I hope the men get it turned around.

I just started and finished watching Breaking Bad
ajzepp replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
That's tough for me cause I'm mostly a movies and sports guy. In terms of scripted tv, I typically only watch after a show is well established and my fellow TBD brethren recommend something. I can tell you that the single best TV experience I've ever had was when I decided to give '24' a shot. I hadn't seen any of the first four seasons, so I decided to rent the discs from Netflix. I still remember watching episode 1 of season 1 late one night and I was totally captivated within the first fifteen minutes. I was hooked, and I sped through the first four seasons in no time. Starting with season 5 I was up to date and watching along with everyone else. Same thing happened with Breaking Bad, except in this case it was just getting caught up with the first two seasons. But as we've all agreed, it's an amazing show. Another show I like that I watched in short order recently was Nurse Jackie. I'm an RN, and the show is sensationalized but it has a lot of issues that really do go on in a hospital/ER setting, so I've had fun with the show. I enjoyed watching all the seasons of Lost on Netflix, but didn't love the show as much as others did...as I mentioned above, though, loved the finale...really touched me and I loved the message. Sopranos is certainly up there...that was a great ride...again, I watched all but the last season on DVD. Band of Brothers...fantastic. Saw all of those episodes on blu-ray. The Pacific...not quite as good as BoB, but close. Very realistic and intense battle scenes. I tried to get into Mad Men, but it didn't take. Right now I'm sort of feeling out Weeds, and I'm starting to get into Sons of Anarchy since that show has a lot of followers here. Over the last 5-10 years, that's really about all the scripted shows I've seen. Only other one I can think of is the Office, which I loved until Michael Scott left. -
Babe: Pig in the City? It was painful to watch that...funny you chose that one, cause I basically agreed to watch it in exchange for a friend of mine agreeing to watch Borat a few years ago. I got the worse end of that deal, let me tell ya

For all you financial gurus out there, I keep hearing really scary projections about the economic future of our government and it's really freaking me out. I've been hearing about our national debt since I was in grade school, but obviously things have changed quite a lot since then. I keep hearing about how the US dollar will lose its status as the world's reserve currency, which would be a huge kick in the balls in terms of our ability to even pay the interest on our debt. The potential ramifications of that are very scary, of course. What concerns do some of you guys have and what steps need to be taken to right this ship? How likely do you think it is that the dollar will no longer be the world's reserve currency? Does anyone know any good ways to begin learning how to speak Chinese?

Lost is way down on my list of favorite shows of all time, but the finale is ranked up there in my top 5. -
+1 I'll watch anything except an English period piece, Selmon.

Good call on Assante...he's one of the more underrated actors in hollywood, IMO. And of course there is Diane Lane...she's a terrific actress and easy on the eyes.

All Peyton Manning, all the time!
ajzepp replied to thewildrabbit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You might be right, but I think this is EXACTLY the situation Elway wants. I think he's not sold on Tebow whatsoever, and what better way to get rid of him than to bring in one of the greatest QBs in NFL history? There is no argument that Manning is a huge upgrade, so there is no controversy from that standpoint. It's a perfect way for the Broncos to get rid of "baby jesus" and not have it result in a backlash from their fan base. As much as the Bronco fans love Tebow, I can't imagine they'd pass up the chance at Manning. -
The Education of Stevie Johnson
ajzepp replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Stevie's becoming a star right before our eyes...I've seen him on national tv like three times today (he's on NFL Network right now)...I'm really glad he's back...he's a good egg.
