  1. I admit it, I'm nearly shocked we got the Stevie deal done. That was huge the more I think about it. I've NEVER been one to feel that Buffalo is not an attractive landing spot for FA's, and this is a great example of that. Stevie is a hip cat who is an emerging star in the league...yet he wanted to be here. I respect him more than I did before as a result. It's very rare that someone leaves Blo and acts like they just couldn't wait to get out. Bledsoe is on tape many times saying how much he loved it here. Losman bought a house here and felt the city was his adopted home town. TKO loved it here. There are many, many more examples of players loving their time in B-lo than not. But sometimes we can't or don't pay...so to get the Stevie deal done was huge, and I really hope we bring in one or two more mid-tier FAs (and then have a killer draft.)
  2. Wow, very surreal watching that. I remember having it on in the background when I was a kid....I was at home, and all of a sudden I hear my dad yelling in the other room..."the damn thing blew up!" I was shocked, to say the least. When you're a kid (I was about 13) you can't really fathom that something like that could actually happen.
  3. Wow, that's a lot of witnesses to his elevator shoes! It's okay, Sly...we still love ya brother! haha
  4. That's what's weird...sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't. I wish we could see what footwear he had on in that pic. BTW, I'm so glad Arnie is done screwing around with that governor crap...he belongs on the big screen kicking arse. Look at this pic....Dolph is about 6'3", but he looks like a giant compared to Sly.
  5. lol, I've always wondered about that...I don't know if he uses shoe inserts sometimes or what, but sometimes he seems to be around 6', yet other times he looks really short compared to who he's standing next to. I remember seeing a clip of him, Arnie, and Willis on one of those Planet Hollywood segments, and he was like a dwarf next to Arnie.
  6. Wow, that girl has 100x the talent of Scotty McCreary lol...it makes you wonder if there is something we don't know about these contestants that have lots of talent but don't make it to the finals. I just don't understand it. But you're right, Kendra should have made it...that was an impressive performance.
  7. I think Fraker would have been great for this show. He comes from rocker roots (his father), but he's very eccentric and a bit awkward, with a ton of vocal talent. They were raving about his top 24 performance of True Colors, but didn't even give him a sniff during the wild card. I don't get it.
  8. You're the perfect candidate for this type of relationship based on this comment. (seriously)
  9. I do. I got divorced in 2004 and really just have embraced the bachelor lifestyle since that time. I've spent some time with older women and really enjoyed it. I would just be yourself and do things that are consistent with that. IMO, you're at the perfect age for this sort of relationship. You're mature enough that you have a solid feel for who you are, and you're young enough to still be considered "young". I don't know what your long term relationship goals are (not with her, I mean in general), but I'd be careful to always keep your options open just in case that long term potential relationship does happen to come into your life while you're dating this lady. I agree with others, though...if she's looking like Marisa Tomei, you're a lucky dog! And I'm a sucker for Philly girls, so I'm jealous! haha
  10. I'm usually an open book among my TBD brothers and sisters, but in this case I won't go into detail. What I WILL say, however, is that I can wholeheartedly encourage you to pursue this interest, but maintain a "ceiling" on the relationship, so to speak. In other words, date her...even date her exclusively...be honest and up front and enjoy your time together. I just would advise you to not "buy the cow" (sorry, JBoyst). I don't mean that to be disrespectful at all, I think what you've found is fantastic. But the age difference will come into play at some point, so I would enjoy the relationship fully right up to the point where it involves making a long term commitment. But trust me, you're in for a fun ride
  11. lol, I loved it, too...I still remember the first time I saw the preview for that film where he was on the back of that jeep and just blew that one guys head off at close range...gory as hell, but I was lmao at the same time (NSFW!!!)
  12. Like many of you, I'm a huge movie fan. It pretty much all started with Star Wars when I was five years old, and it's continued over the last 34 years. There aren't many times when I can point my finger to something and label it "my favorite", because usually they are so many contenders in just about any category I could discuss. But if I had to choose only one actor who impacted my life through film more than any other, and one who has literally been an icon to me since the beginning, it would have to be Sly Stallone. I still remember the year was 1982, and my best friend and I were celebrating our birthdays around the same time (May/June). His parents were going to take us to a movie and drop us off, but we just had to choose the film. IIRC, I was pretty set on seeing E.T., and I figured my friend would be, as well. He wasn't. He was dead set on seeing Rocky III. I was really taken aback by this, as I had absolutely no interest in boxing, hadn't seen the first two Rocky movies, and quite frankly was pretty damn determined to see E.T. I don't really recall what my reasons were for giving in, and I wasn't happy about it, but off to Rocky III we went. Over the next two hours, I was transformed. The movie completely changed me, and I remember it was then that I started to think about athletic fitness, competition, sports, etc. I'm currently in pretty lousy shape, but I was an athlete all through my childhood and into college. I can give a lot of credit to this film for helping me to find that road. Stallone's films were one of the few instances where I went for the actor more than the movie itself. It didn't matter what the reviews were, I just knew I loved this guy's films and would geek out to them no matter what. Even something like Over the Top...I know people (most people, probably) who consider this one of the worst films of all time. I can still remember the day I saw it at the theater with my brother...I loved it. Hell, how bout the ultimate Stallone on-screen embarrassment...fuggin Rhinestone! Everyone I know hated it. Nope, not THIS Focker. I laughed my arse off and wanted to become a singer! (I can't sing.) Loved his part in Victory with Pele, loved all the Rambo films, was there for the midnight screening of Judge Dredd on opening night, etc, etc. Anyway, I could go on and on...but the whole point of this post was to share an interview with you that was conducted recently with the man himself. Just in case there are any other Stallone fans out there who want to read it. Enjoy! Interview with Sly
  13. It totally does...I didn't see that coming, cause others I know seem to really like Weeds. I've never seen Elizabeth Perkins looking that hot before, and I like some of the cast, but I don't think this is really for me. I think I'm going to give Boardwalk a shot after I see how much interest I end up having in Sons of Anarchy. Thanks for the reminder about that one...I'm a huge Buscemi fan
  14. Phillip? Really? I just don't see it, but I guess everyone else seems to like him. My picks for the final 2 are Jessica vs. Colton
  15. Unfortunately I was bored to tears last night...with the exception of Jessica. WOW, she totally did justice to that classic Whitney song, and as much as I have enjoyed her to this point, I didn't think she had that in her. Show needs more Fraker....
  16. Amen, Stojan. Speaking of Anarchy, I finally got around to watching the pilot. I started watching Weeds, but honestly this feels like a chick show so far (wtf?)...so I'm going to keep watching SoA since I know a lot of you guys are high on it.
  17. Exactly...that's the element from S1 that's completely absent. In S1 we had a small camp that was compromised in all directions and you never knew what was going to come out of the woods. When they would wander into the city, again, no idea what was coming and from where. They finally get to the CDC building...looks abandoned...wonder what's up? There is NONE of that this season. It's more like a solemn episode of hee-haw at times than it is the Walking Dead. GET OFF THE FARKIN FARM already. Throw them back out into survival mode...take some people out...have more awesomeness like the half zombie lady crawling along the ground from the S1 premiere...I know it's a dead horse, but no WAY Darabont would have let this happen...
  18. You guys are right on the money...I still don't know what I just watched. There are no words for this level of stupidity.
  19. Maybe they could find a way for a zombie to bite only his eyebrows...that would be cool.
  20. So true...I've never understood commercials that play it straight. Who cares about that?? People do their research online now anyway. Make the commercial "must see tv" and you'll get better results from that 30 second spot than you could possibly imagine. Hell, half the board has already had a damn southwest patty melt from Carls Jr/Hardees...and there's a reason why. If I were CEO of a company, I'd ALWAYS have cutting edge advertising that made people talk. Viral marketing is the most powerful tool businesses have available to them today...whey they don't focus on this is beyond me.
  21. That's a great synopsis of how I've viewed her, as well. I ended up wanting her to win BB the second time around, and even though she is a drama queen she does have some resolve that you have to admire. I think it's funny how Brandon coddles her every time, though, until she's over it...he's a huge sap, but they seem to work as a couple
  22. Yep, I saw it on Vudu a couple months ago. Had no idea what it was, but saw JGL was in it and the description sounded interesting. His character was a bit inconsistent in the film, but that wasn't his fault. I really enjoyed the film overall. I figured you probably had a similar appreciation for his acting...and I agree about the roles he's getting. I think that speaks to his versatility and the fact that he transcends "the box". Very talented kid.
