  1. Oh wow, they went with Zebrie Sanders instead. Nix was talking him down a little bit in the draft process. But I guess they don't mind taking him in the 5th to back up Pears.
  2. Yeah, he was. And just looking at the numbers alone, you tell me who the odd men out are? Considering that you only generally keep 5 maybe 6: Stephon Gilmore Aaron Williams Drayton Florence Terrence McGee Justin Rogers Ron Brooks Leodis McKelvin
  3. With 4 picks still left, James Brown from Troy is still on the board currently. He's a guy we brought in for a visit and is someone who is versatile enough to play both OG and OT. He's also Mel's 2nd best available player. If he makes it to our 1st 5th round pick, I REALLY think we should pull the trigger. It would really add to an already good draft. Dare I say, if we take him: "I FEEL GOOD!"
  4. Oh yeah, I forgot. If Stephon Gilmore didn't spell the end of Leodis McKelvin, I think Ron Brooks just did. #datrite
  5. Traded three syllables for two. Way to get ripped off!
  6. Nah, "The Honey Badger" played opposite Claiborne. This guy must have been their nickel.
  7. I'd be heated if I were him. They went to a full screen Chevy ad on ESPN w/TWC and the pick was missed on TV during this time. Then when they reviewed the recent picks, they started their list to review at 106. Didn't even mention his name at all beyond the scroller on the bottom. Messed up.
  8. Fuggin' greedy bastards.
  9. Mario Williams just tweeted "hell yeah #wolfpackbaby". If Mario likes it, I like it. Jebus tap dancing Crisp, we still have 6 picks left and we're in the middle rounds. Trust your team. We need a speed receiver and this class is short on them. We made sure we got one. A lot of experts like it. So what that you "haven't heard of 'em"?
  10. I was just thinking the same thing. Apparently so. Both the side and the ticker show we pick 69 (hehe) now. Question is: who were we worried that Jacksonville would pick?
  11. All morning, WGR has been saying that David isn't a good fit with our scheme. I don't think LaVonte David is a guy we'd take regardless of who's there.
  12. For the love of Marv, how many times do I have to say it.... RILEY REIFF IS A RIGHT TACKLE! He played Right Tackle in college; never Left. He has short arms. He is a Bryan Bulaga clone. Bryan Bulaga played Right Tackle in college for Iowa and still plays Right Tackle in the pros. We do not need a Right Tackle. We need a left tackle. Collegiate Left Tackles can be moved to Right Tackle and sometimes Guard. But a collegiate Right Tackle rarely (if ever) upgrades to Left Tackle in the pros. Seriously people, please stop looking at who most have projected as the next best Tackle after Matt Kallil without doing the homework as to whether or not the player is an actual fit. ....... Tackle.
  13. He had some sort of surgery requiring a crazy amount of physical therapy. Can't remember what he had worked on, but he's been on the shelf and LITERALLY walking with a walker.
  14. Because he's a RIGHT TACKLE. Capitalization is important because no one seems to understand this. College Left Tackles can be moved to Right Tackle or Guard in the pro's if it doesn't work out for them at Left. But seldom, if ever, does someone play Right Tackle in college and make the leap to Left Tackle in the pros. Oh, and by the way, he's looked like a pretty average RIGHT TACKLE in all his workouts.
  15. THIS! This is the type of things i've been wanting to hear people say when they come here! Geniune excitement and a "i'm seeing what you got going on Buffalo" type feel. Not just the "i'm glad to be here and this is great team" blah blah blah. It really seems like something is coming together here and even if we don't succeed, i'm thrilled with the plan put in place. Bravo One Bills Drive! It feels good to say that once again.
  16. I meant give him the money we planned to use on Meachem.
  17. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2012/3/21/2889471/mark-anderson-mario-williams-bills-free-agents-2012 Apparently, we're one of FIVE teams interested. If we want to do this, I have a feeling it's going to cost a bit. But we were willing to pay a decent amount for Meachem before he left town; so give him Meachem's deal!
  18. Seriously. This is a big time free agent we're bringing in and all you guys can do is try to one up each other with jokes about how little we care about him vs. Mario Williams? I got news for you. This may not be as huge of a signing as Mario Williams. But landing a 20 something year old pass rusher coming off a double digit sack season is about as big as some teams can get in FA. Add in the fact that we already have Mario and this would be HUGE. But, of course, continue on with the ridiculousness.
  19. Man, if we get him, I dare say that players are starting to take notice to the winds of change around here. And if it happens, I think Chris Kelsay will be getting a lot of playing time as a DE and OLB respectively, but not manning anything full time. Which would be a good role for him.
  20. No one has any idea on who has called, if any. Everyone is just speculating. But this NFL.com article would like to say hello: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d827b36c8/article/tim-tebow-stock-watch-where-will-he-play-in-2012?module=HP11_hot_topics
  21. Yes, because our offense is so strong and stacked with weapons that we can afford to pass. Fitzpatrick is 100% a sure thing and completely guaranteed to not get hurt. Tyler Thigpen is a backup QB you can totally count on and develop. And Brad Smith is better than Tebow at running an offense in special situations. Listen, I find the Tebow fanatics ridiculous. Dealing with them would suck. But the nfl.com article brings up some really good points. He's a good fit and could be had cheap; most likely the 4th we got for Lee and picking up a rookie contract with the signing bonus already paid. I would be very shocked if a team signs him to be their starter. I don't think it's going to happen. The role that Tim Tebow is most likely to play is a role that Buffalo is looking to fill. A developmental project. And one that gets on the field in special packages. We sign Mario and all of a sudden, everyone's on their high horse. The revenue to the Bills and surrounding areas alone would be worth taking a shot.
  22. Well, if nfl.com's running with it, might as well have fun with it right?: 1.) We need a development quarterback - Say what you will about him, but he was able to come from behind to beat the Steelers in the playoffs. I'd say that's a pretty good place to start the devolpment process. 2.) He can contribute on offense while holding the clipboard - Wildcat. Yes, we do have Brad Smith in place. But why can't we be greedy? Both can run it. Hell, imagine them running the gimmick together? Coached on it by it's creator, our new QB's coach, by the way. 3.) ALL eyes on Buffalo - If Mario Williams put us back on the map a little; getting Tebow would REALLY make people pay attention to us. It'd be a welcome change of pace. 4.) Charity - The NFL.com article is right. Chan Gailey is probably one of the very few people who would know how to use the kid. David Lee as well. Honestly, the kid may not have a better opportunity than us. 5.) $$$ - You could probably make a profit on what you'd have to pay him in jersey sales alone!
  23. Honestly, if his fans weren't so psychotic, I'd be okay with them giving as high as a 3rd. I think Brad running the wildcat with Tebow would be dangerously interesting. Not to mention, he'd be a more than exciting prospect in the "Developmental QB" role. But, again, his fans are a maniacal cult. The media being a part of it. If he were to come in, I think there would be some serious chemistry complications.
  24. Yep. Unimpressive combine, unimpressive pro day, and being projected at Guard. Might want to change the title from "Bank on it!" to "No fudgin' way!".
