It's a village... in the suburbs of Rochester. "The Village of Pittsford is the oldest village in New York incorporated in 1827. The village, an Erie Canal community, is in the Town of Pittsford. Pittsford is a suburb of Rochester, NY." https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pittsford_(village),_New_York Also funny how their urgent care is the University of Rochester https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/urgent-care/ And what exactly does these "upscale bedroom community" and "higher end clientele" comments have to do with anything in regards to the pandemic and whether or not Training Camp will be held? Do you live in Rochester? Or excuse me, one of the many towns and villages that comprise it? Because I do. Actually, I live in Irondequoit. But you know what it says on my mail? Rochester, NY. No one around here says Irondequoit, Greece, Pittsford, Gates, Fairport, etc are not Rochester. Rochester is not just some 10 mile stretch downtown.

This post is extremely confusing. You list all the precautions SJF has done for their paying students. What about that list makes you think they'd be comfortable busing in crowds of the general public to spectate a football team? Btw Pittsford is a township of the city of Rochester. "Higher clientele" (which is pretty offensive) or not.
-
Exactly. And other things compounding the issue is - a.) There's no on site parking. Fans have to stand in line and pile on to busses to be shuttled to and from Camp. No real way of controlling social distancing and the large public transportation increases risk of exposure. b.) Rochester has cancelled a number of Summer Festivals like Park Ave Fest and moved the Jazz Fest out of the city this year. Things like the Lilac Festival is being spread out over weeks with attendance capped tightly. Opening Bills Training Camp to the public doesn't really jive with how the city has been operating as of late.

I doubt it. As a Rochesterian, I love having them here. But the writing was already kind of on the wall that they were basically riding out the contract and that they preferred their new fancy digs they had built in Buffalo. So why would they go out of their way to come up with a plan and expose themselves to unnecessary risk when it's not required and they probably don't even want to in the first place? Even *if* they did - I'd expect it to be a very limited engagement. One in which it's ticketed, basically invite only for sponsors, and the type that would be in the VIP tents in previous years.

Cardinals still showing the “Hail Murray”
BillsFanForever19 replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's what bad teams do. They take big things that happen in a single game and hang their hat on it. It's like the couple times we beat the Patriots during the drought. It'd make the cover of SI and we'd all revel in it for an entire season. Because otherwise, all you've (in this case, the Cardinals) got to focus on is failure. -
Antwan Woods Released

Star wasn't bad with the Bills. His role is an unsexy one that won't show up on the stats sheet. Did you notice how big of a drop off our D-Line had last season without him? It wasn't a coincidence. He makes the rest of the line better by eating blockers. -
How did Jaret Patterson go undrafted??
BillsFanForever19 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Small, slow, MAC back in a time when the RB position has never been more undervalued. Good numbers but no elite traits. Doesn't shock me at all. I didn't see anyone who thought he was going in the 3rd or 4th Round. -
2021 NFL Draft Day 3 Talk Official Thread
BillsFanForever19 replied to The Jokeman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So 2 OT's with both our Tackles signed long term, following 2 DE's? Now we've traded down to pick up extra picks when most felt we'd trade up because it'd be hard for 7 to make the roster? I don't get this Draft, at all. -
The Bills' DE Lottery Tickets
BillsFanForever19 replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thing that gets me is - who's getting cut? In my time as a Bills fan, we've only ever kept 4 or 5 DE's on the active roster. Hughes, Addison, Epenesa, and Rousseau are locks. Leaves one roster spot for Obada or Bam Bam. I don't see SIX DE's being kept. -
Bad Luck With Clemson High Draft Picks
BillsFanForever19 replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good thing we wouldn't be using a "high" draft pick. Our 1st is a glorified 2nd Rounder. Big difference between taking ETN at 30 when the team doesn't really have any holes and taking Spiller at 10 or Watkins at 4 when the team has huge needs. -
Falcons Shopping Julio Jones

I don't like the rule from a consumer standpoint. Nike jerseys are too expensive to be making so many outdated so quickly. Case in point, DeAndre Hopkins is teasing a switch from #10 to #6. And I'd bet a million Cardinals fans bought DeAndre Hopkins new jersey for $120 under a year ago. Hell, there's probably more than a few that randomly bought one within the past couple months. Glad we traded for this guy...

I think your misunderstanding me. What I was trying to say was that with premier positions like DE and CB - at pick 30 you're going to get maybe the 5th ranked player at the position. With the true studs going way higher than where you're picking, ending up with AJ Epenesa type prospects. Wherein RB being devalued in Draft's, it's possible you could get the #1 ranked prospect at the position.
-
Looking at what this team is missing and the quality of player who would be available by position at 30 - it's Etienne, if he's there. Because the RB position is devalued in the Draft these days, it's probably the biggest bang for your buck when you're picking as low as we are. Any Edge Rusher who's left at 30 I don't see coming in and providing much more than Epenesa did and won't hop Hughes or Addison. Kind of feel the same way about DT. Can't imagine one left that far into Round 1 is hopping Oliver or Star. Maybe Cornerback if the position slides. But although Levi is not thought of as much by fans - he is by McDermott. He always seems to fight off the competition. And much like DE - it's a highly valued position where real studs are picked way higher than 30. It's also a big learning curve position from College to the NFL. So I have a hard time seeing one coming in and immediately throwing Levi to the pine. We'd have to get real lucky with another Tre like pick there.

Bojo to Rams (update - traded to Packers)
BillsFanForever19 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Imagine playing hardball with your GM who wanted to sign you to a long term deal and then you end up being a destined to be cut camp competitior to one of the best at your position... and you're a Punter. Whoops! 😆 -
I'm not saying this is what happened. I'm not victim shaming here. But if I rep'd some of these players - I'd be telling them that they should EXPECT to be targeted. There are people out there that will realize who you are and goad you into beating the ***** out of them. They may "deserve" it. But they know what they're doing. They're *trying* to get beat up. Because they know - it might suck in the short term. But in the long term, they're going to get a BIG civil settlement and become rich off it. Just understand it for what it is, laugh it off, and go home.
-
Beyond a lack of money - we're also coming up against the roster limit. We can carry 91 players into Camp. At this point - we have 71 players on the roster. We have 7 draft picks. We also tend to sign 10+ UDFA's each season. Not to say we can't or won't sign anyone else - but I think veteran FA signings are pretty much coming to an end. Maybe one or two more - but the odds that it's one person in particular that you have your eye on is pretty damn slim.
-
Omg. You people are starting to make me dislike Kyle Pitts just by association with these ridiculous ideas. He won't fall anywhere near a level worth giving up what it would take to get him. You don't trade 3 firsts - which would be the absolute minimum - for a Tight End. I don't care how good of a Tight End prospect he is, you just don't.
-
It's extremely unlikely that he ever does. IMO had they not extended the pathway program - this would have been it for him. I know he's an awesome story and he had a couple good runs in the Pre-Season a couple seasons ago. But let's be honest here - if the Bills really saw something in him - his career would have taken the Efe Obada path instead of the path he's on now.

Draft trade thought -- complete & total "what if"
BillsFanForever19 replied to glazeduck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Before I clicked the link I thought "bet this is about Pitts". Not going to happen. He won't make it to 10. Even if he did - you're not giving up what it would cost to move from 30 to 10 for a Tight End. I don't care what kind of prospect he is.
