You just mentioned a guy we took that didn't have perfect measurements. I'm not saying it's not a factor. But I am saying it's not the be all end all. His fit in the system, his production, and his IQ also matter. His arms a little short, but he also has a very good vertical, which makes up for some of the length. And again, if he was someone who wasn't on their board bc of the measurements, I don't think they'd have met with him at the Combine and the Pro Day. And I'd expect you'll see him come in on a Pre-Draft visit as well.

I don't think you completely discount football IQ and what you see on tape over measurements. Especially when you consider he had a 38.5 inch vertical leap at yesterday's Pro Day. Which would have ranked 5th highest at the Combine. They have surely been scouting him for a long time. They had to have been well aware of his size prior to the Combine. And they still had a Combine Meeting with him. And after the Combine where his arms were measured, they sent representatives to his Pro Day. Again, I completely disagree with your assessment that he's off their radar because of his 29.75 inch arms. He hasn't done it at the College level. Big ask to expect him to then excel at it in the Pros and come in and start right off the bat. HUGE ask.
-
Rhodes or Nelson, maybe. But Gilmore isn't happening. Teams with a lot of cap space want him to lower his asking price and we're looking for a bargain. I'd also add James Bradberry isn't happening either. No way we give up more money than we're looking to pay for the role AND a premium draft pick for a guy on a one year deal that we won't extend.

Said this in another post - but holy hell, is this under 30" arms overblown. He is a QUARTER INCH under 30. He's barely over a half inch less than Dane Jackson. You don't pass on a guy who hasn't given up a TD in two years and plays as well as he has because he's a quarter inch under the threshold. Daxton Hill is a Safety, that sometimes plays Nickel. He doesn't play outside. Could he? Maybe. But it's a projection. We don't need a Safety or a Nickel. Those starting positions are covered. Passing on a stud outside Corner because a quarter inch under 30 for a guy who doesn't play the position? Gotta question your logic there.

I don't see it. They have both starting edges secured for at least 3 seasons and have spent a 1st and 2 2nds on Ends the past two seasons. I'd agree that Basham was underwhelming in his first season and Epenesa in his first two. But I don't see them moving on from them as rotational pieces that quickly. They'd be sprinting for the podium for McDuffie as well.

Nor would I. But I would definitely be surprised and opposed to it happening at 25.

With the holes we need to fill, there's no way we take a Safety who will barely see the field with our first pick. Especially not with a Trent McDuffie on the board.

Buffalo was in on Patrick Peterson
BillsFanForever19 replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Doesn't surprise me. Probably wanted to get him on a bargain as evidenced by him staying in Minnesota for a year. This is the type of signing I'd expect. A vet with starting experience who can provide a little more coverage for a few games when Tre's out and provide depth and leadership behind our 1st or 2nd round, at a cap friendly price for a season. Big time signings or trades like Stephon Gilmore or James Bradberry is unrealistic. I'd be looking at Joe Haden or Steven Nelson. -
Daxton Hill is a Safety that sometimes plays Nickel. He's a projection when it comes to the Outside. We don't need a Safety or a Nickel.

I keep hearing this and I really think it's overblown. His arm length is a quarter of an inch under 30. Dane Jackson is 30 3/8. We're really going to pass on a guy who didn't allow a single TD in the last two years for his arms being a half inch under the ideal range?

If this were real, it would be McDuffie for sure. But the Breece Hall hive is strong in these parts.

Stefon Diggs Tweet...What you make of it?

I'll say this - watching fans of other teams court him has been endlessly entertaining. -
3 CB's in the Top 10? Man, I hope this mock doesn't become reality.

Von Miller Morbius Movie Commerical
BillsFanForever19 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm right there with you! I love Morbius and was excited for the movie already. Seeing a Von Miller x Marvel colab got me so pumped. -
The Draft Network is so CB heavy in the first round. It's hard to even land Elam at 25 now in their sim. I hope their system doesn't translate to the actual Draft.

Bills match Bears Offer Sheet for Ryan Bates, 4 yr deal
BillsFanForever19 replied to nato7412's topic in The Stadium Wall
Pretty simple. Beane has faith that what he saw last season from him in a small sample size will continue. This is proven by his matching the deal. If he signed him to a one year 2nd round tender - then he'd be a FA again after this season. And if he performs up to expectations, the price tag would have went WAY up. So in letting him go out and test the market now, he was able to get him long term this year at a much lower price than he expects to have had to next season. -
Should the Bills look into Derrius Guice?

Bills match Bears Offer Sheet for Ryan Bates, 4 yr deal
BillsFanForever19 replied to nato7412's topic in The Stadium Wall
At first I was confused as to why they didn't put him on a 2nd round tender so they could have had him for cheaper with no competition. But now that I think about it, I wonder if this was what Beane wanted all along. He wanted Bates to sign a long term deal with another team so that he could get Bates locked up long term at what his market is now after a small sample size. As opposed to what he perceives his market will be after a full year as a starter.- 464 replies

Draft Booth, McDuffie, or Elam (in that order) at 25 if either are there. If not, try to trade down a little bit to grab McCreary, Gordon, or Woolen and grab some extra picks. Or select at another position at 25 and trade up from 57, if you're feeling so bold and/or you're a big fan of Woolen (might even be able to stand Pat at 57 for him if the board falls correct). Sign a mid-tier FA veteran willing to come to play for a winning team on a discount to fill in at CB1 or CB2 (depending on how quickly the rookie picks things up) while Tre is gone and to provide added depth to Dane Jackson alongside Taron Johnson in the Nickel for when he returns. Done.

Jarvis Landry wants $20 million a year
BillsFanForever19 replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
So let me get this straight, there wasn't a single team that would give a late round pick for him because no one wanted to take on his 14.3 million dollar contract and he thinks someone will pay him 20? Methinks Jarvis has taken one too many shots to the head.
