  1. One of the best moments for me was in HS football. I went to Canisius High, and every year we were able to play a game at the Ralph (along with Timon, St. Francis and St. Joe's). We got to play where the 4x AFC champs played. It was absolutely incredible. I remember the turf was bouncy, which suprised me. We played Joe's at the Ralph (then called Rich Stadium) my senior year. Biggest rivalry we had. I was playing QB (only got to play S the year before, as I was 2nd on the QB depth chart my junior year). Well I was able to "lead" a drive in the 1st half, featuring two awful passes by me and several good runs from our RBs. We were on the 19, facing the tunnel end zone, 4th and 7. I threw the best pass of my life, on an out toward the corner end zone, the receiver had two steps....TD. We briefly led 9-3, after botching the xtra point. We proceeded to lose the game 24-12, but that pass will always be with me.
  2. I really like him as a coach. But if you are going to be in the coaching profession, you have to go where the jobs are. I understand turning down Buffalo's one year offer, but Tampa Bay's offer??? To hear that it was because his wife and kids started crying because he wanted them to move to Florida??? Sorry man, get a grip on your own house.
  3. I've been doing it wrong all these years...I thought it was a cup of black coffee and a cigarette
  4. True, but you'd think the whole blind squirrel theory would at least produce one decent OL, during his time with the Bills. Although, you could argue that they were Nutten and Ziegler and we gave up too early.
  5. Spy vs spy was awesome. In terms of my favorite, I'd say far side. In terms of what is the most mainstream and has remained relevant the longest, I'd say Peanuts. http://www.angelfire.com/hi/SpyVsSpy/
  6. The thing is that both Bennie and MW were decent drive blockers. Problem is that the Bills didn't do much drive blocking. They were asked to move laterally and pass protect, not their strong points. Since many NFL teams do not do much drive blocking anymore, I often wondered if it would work to sign the best drive-blocking type OL, who would come pretty cheaply, and install a drive blocking, smash mouth offense in Buffalo. With WM and Atrain, we have the big bruising backs to make it work. We could conceivably run the ball 70-75% of the time on O. I know this would work pretty well in Nov and Dec. It would give the D a chance to rest up, make the play action pass dangerously effective, especially with JP's arm and the speed of our outside WRs. I thought thats what we were trying to do last year, but TC and MM decided to show everyone how creative they were (Shelton catching a pass at the 1). If we would really commit to that style, I think it would really work in Buffalo.
  7. Nothing he's done so far tops MAY DAY!
  8. If anyone, illegal, legal or whatever, tries going after my family, yes, they will get shot. Having a bunch of illegals running through my yard (assuming, I guess, that I live on a border somewhere) and possibly toward my house, yeah that would be a problem. They can look out for their families just fine without interfering with mine in any way. Thing is, if my family was threatened, then yes, I would defend by any means necessary.
  9. I did call a buddy in Buffalo while I was watching the online feed. The feed was about 60 seconds behind, which is a lot.
  10. So did I. The feed was fantastic. I was working late anyway and just clicked the "Watch it Live" link on Yahoo to see how it was. Man I was impressed. It was the arena feed, with Jenerette doing the call. Absolutely fantastic.
  11. BS. Men die early for only one reason...... They want to.
  12. Totally agree JSP.
  13. Missed the stupid CSI ? and the immigration %. Shotgun? If a herd of illegals came thru my backyard, I want the gun Jesse Ventura used in Predator.
  14. Again, it depends on context, which is my whole point. Lets say one of our elected "leaders" referred seriously to Mexicans as wetbacks and breeders and advocated citizens taking a shotgun to Arizona. That would be a problem. But a nonsense computer game that gives you a laugh mid-day is a completely different context, and should (IMHO) be treated as such.
  15. Can you? Isn't that what this game is doing??? Taking a stereotype and making it absurdly funny, while actually being an office cubicle time-waster.....Surely you don't think the game is actually advocating all of us to go take shotguns to Arizona, do you?
  16. Lighten up Francis. You ever told a Polish joke or laughed at a blonde joke? Stereotypes are there for a reason...usually there's a lot of truth to them. Every group has them. They can be funny if you accept them for what they are, a way to laugh at yourself.
  17. Hence, signing Grady Jackson could be a big help. Why do you say that Schobel & Denney are better suited to zone blitz than cover 2? I ask because I didn't know there was much of a difference with respect to DE in the two schemes.
  18. I'm still worried about DT. OK, we have Triplett and McCargo manning the "three technique" DT slot, possibly playing both on 3rd and long. At the other (nose position), we have Tim Anderson and.... Sape? Williams? Sorry, I don't have a lot of confidence there. I know he's old, but I'd love to see Grady signed. He plays only on 1st and 2nd down. He will clog up two blockers, allowing another guy to run free and make the tackle. He can still hold the point of attack. I just have visions of our new "penetrating" DTs playing like Sam Adams and constantly overrunning the play and missing the tackle.
  19. Dare we say it...a return of the counter to the Bills playbook??? Gee Thurman only gained, what, 7,000 yards rushing on that play. Maybe we should have left that one in there...
  20. I thought this was a retatta thread.
  21. That was funny. Our line is gawd awful and has been for several years. The second video is even worse. Three guys bunched near the line, all run forward looking for someone to block, Vashar runs past them and blows up Willis. The 3 guys were Gandy, Evans and someone else. Just awful.
  22. I like the upgrades at the C and LG positions. I'm just very concerned about LT.
  23. As long as his cellmate is either Jeffrey Dahmer or a 400 lb jacked up triple murderer who is lonely and needs a friend.
