You are, of course, correct. I am just livid that we blew the #4 pick in the draft. That fact, combined with the mixed history of UT draft picks over the last 5-7 years and I'd like to avoid Texas players, if possible. I am totally wrong to be this dismissive, but personal feelings are what they are. IMHO, Seymour has been more than simply effective. He's had stretches where he completely dominates the opposition.

I've liked Watson's potential for a while. He just has to show consistent effort. McCargo has come on strong as of late, I just hope its not the Mario effect like Ryan Sims' Peppers effect a few years back. I'm not a very big fan of Wright. I have no discernable reason, other than I'm very sour on Texas players after Mike Williams. I don't know very much about Babatunde Oshinowo or Jesse Mahelona.

After reading JoeF's thread about Marv saying that we needed Mould's cap money to continue upgrading the lines, I looked around at some of the free agents left, here's what I would do.... Sign UFA DT - Grady Jackson - He's not getting any offers, so I don't think that it will take a Pat Williams-type of deal to sign him. He's huge and will command the double team, leaving Triplett as the one-gap guy. He'll also keep the opposing OL off our LBs. Sign RFA G Vince Manuwai - He's at the 3rd round tender, which is high, but he's only 26 and really poised for a breakout. Very strong as a run blocker and can hold his own as pass-blocker. Since we'll be looking for a G in the first three rounds anyway, I'd rather get one with 3 years experience, who is ready to take his game to the next level, rather than the if-come draft pick. Sign UFA DE Lance Johnstone - He's not young (32) and more of a 3rd down pass rush specialist, but in limited snaps with Minnesota the last 3 years, he's had 8, 11 and 10 sacks, respectively. He could be used in place of Kelsey or Denney on passing downs, opposite Schobel. He also wouldn't cost a whole lot. These signings are reasonable, and would allow us to use the #8 on BPA, be it Huff, Davis, Ngata or Winston Justice. There aren't many tackles left out there, but this would help the lines considerably. We would just have to use one of our 1st two picks on a T.

He wrote this in dissecting the schedule... Hey Peter, fug off. We know we didn't have a good year last year or this offseason, no need to rub it in.

I looked on VRBO and came up with these listings...problem is I don't know where they are in relation to the main party area. Any suggestions? http://www.vrbo.com/4737 http://www.vrbo.com/14730 http://www.vrbo.com/83751 And these two that are a bit more.. http://www.vrbo.com/53839 http://www.vrbo.com/84355 Thanks for your help.

Thank you very much Tenny & Bib. I really appreciate the info and will be printing this thread. I will definately make the parade. When we were at Mardi Gras in 2000, they were one of the best parts of being there. How far is Tybee Island from the main Riverwalk area? And how often does the bus run from Tybee Island? The reason I thought of a house/condo is because that is what we do for Fall fest in Ellicottville every year. If a hotel is much better/much more convenient, we'll do that. In New Orleans we stayed at the Days Inn on Canal, which was fine. I would have preferred the Inn on Bourbon, but it was just too much. If I was to look for hotels, any suggestions? My friends are pretty much scattered all over the Northeast, so we'd be flying from BUF, NYC, PIT and BOS.

Hello all A few weeks ago we had a thread where Savannah Georgia's St. Pats celebration was mentioned. I said if my friends and I decided to do it, I'd post for suggestions and help as to where to stay etc. After speaking with everyone, we have decided to do it next year. Since St. Pats is on a Saturday, and we would not have to take too much time off work to go. Also, I post this now because I'm sure places book up early. Thus, I'm hopeful that people can provide suggestions on where to stay, flights, where to eat, best places to party etc. I'd be going with 10 guys, so if we could rent a 5 bedroom house/condo or something like that in the right area it may be a bit more affordable than a hotel. Thanks in advance for your help.

While I completely agree with you, all of that in one draft is a tall order. I was hopeful that some of those things could have been addressed in FA. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way.

We spent two weeks on St. Martin. Absolutely loved it. Shopped, did activities & Gambled on the Dutch side, stayed and ate on the French side. We stayed at Le Meridian which was terrific. I have nothing but good things to say about the place. Let me know if you want more specific info.

Thats a mighty big assumption you are making...that all 47 players knew what was going on as it was happening. If a rape took place, perhaps none of the 47 (save the rapists) knew it was happening when it happened. Some may have heard hearsay or gossip afterwards, some MAY have known that it was happening. She claimed that she was raped in a bathroom by 3 guys, not in an open gang bang. They may not have even been lacrosse players, just people who came over for the party. So to say that all 47 kids knew what was going on and did nothing to stop it is a tad overzealous. So now if 3 kids from the lacrosse team raped someone, we should villify the entire University? Gotcha.

Lets see what the DNA shows. The individuals responsible should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. However, there were not 47 rapes and the rest of the team does not deserve to be vilified.

I wish we had more players who thought like Ralph.

Amen. The RW is old, RW is cheap etc. that is promulgated by certain individuals on this board is tiresome, misinformed and downright malicious. We are damn lucky to have RW as an owner. -
People talking on cell phones on trains, subways, buses and planes. It better be a life-threatening emergency if you are doing that because all you are doing is pissing me off. I don't care about your kid, your mother, your dinner, your errands or you. I care about peace and quiet on my friggin commute. And yes, I will be the guy who starts clearing his throat incessantly and glaring at them till they get the idea.

Good post and good points. I have done a fair amount of research on this. I have an Alpha dog that is approximately 130 lbs. It is a Malamute mix. The Alpha role is stressful for a dog. They feel the burden of responsibility. Once you establish yourself as the Alpha, the dog will chill out immeasurably. It will feel no longer responsible for the safety and well-being of the "pack," which is how many breeds see things.

Man that was funny!!!

I know what you mean. My grandfather (not a rascist bone in his body) said "colored" or "Negro" because "black" was considered inappropriate. Now, "black" and African American (or Afro American) are considered terms du jour. What it will be in 20 years...who knows?

Ya know, the thing is that he has done the same shtick for 20 years. It was very entertaining the first 10 years. How could you keep that fresh without losing the original? I'm not really sure. At least he's a better announcer than Nantz and Packer. Also, he's a helluva nice guy. Every year my family spends Easter on Siesta Key, Florida. He's always plugging a nice breakfast and lunch place called the Broken Egg. One year, my Dad & I are having breakfast, talking hoops (NCAA Tourney time) and I see this guy sort of staring at us from the next table. Sure enough, he offers his opinion on what we were just chatting about and there no mistake...its Dickie V. We ask him to join us and talk hoops, he gladly accepted. We chat about hoops for about 2 hours over coffee. The guy loves the game very much and is about as knowledgable a person as there is about college hoops. He even picked up the check. Since then we have seen him there a few times, he still remembers our names, and we chat with him about hoops, life etc. Does it get a bit old, sure. But he really does love the game and is knowledgable about it.

She may not be the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree but she is pretty hot. She also seems like she'd be fun to party with for a while. Since the FHM & ESPN articles were recent, I'm willing to bet ole Kris got caught by her in his hotel room with some other girl in Sarasota. Obligatory Pics... http://www.annabenson.net/gallery.htm
