  1. You don't need any agent. If you are interested in the house, call the selling agent directly and discuss with them. Better yet, contact the owners if you can.
  2. I would be absolutely thrilled with these picks. What a terrific foundation for future years. Of course, I still believe that the whole Ngata doesn't fit the system blah blah is a smokescreen and he will be our 1st round pick.
  3. Hey LA, I didn't get my entry in before it was closed, so I figured I would post it here. If you re-open it, cool. If not, oh well. Sep 10 @New England L Sep 17 @Miami L Sep 24 N.Y. Jets W Oct 1 Minnesota W Oct 8 @Chicago W Oct 15 @Detroit W Oct 22 New England L Nov 5 Green Bay W Nov 12 @Indianapolis L Nov 19 @Houston W Nov 26 Jacksonville L Dec 3 San Diego L Dec 10 @N.Y. Jets L Dec 17 Miami W Dec 24 Tennessee W Dec 31 @Baltimore W 9-7, better than many think. No playoffs.
  4. I wonder how accurate Ourlands is compared with other draft reports/sites, in projecting how good a player will be? For example, what did they say about John Henderson or Richard Seymour versus Ernie Sims? As long as our 1st and 2nd rounder plays on the line, offensive or defensive, I'll be happy.
  5. Yep. And it can toughen one up. If he played "soft" before and didn't know how good he had it in Buffalo, I'd think that he will savor the 2nd chance and be a terrific WR.
  6. Wow. I don't think I've ever seen a draft profile so negative before. They really have nothing good to say about him. He can't be THAT bad, can he?
  7. The Humane Society will NOT take away a pet that is properly cared for. Practically, they do not have the space to house those pets. Also, they'd have a PR nightmare on their hands once word got out. This provision would most likely be unenforceable. If the lease is silent on fines, then the landlord cannot fine you for having a pet. Eviction is possible for breaking the terms of the lease. I'm not sure how favorably a court would look on a landlord trying to evict a rent-paying tenant for having a pet. I know it would not fly in NYC. Finally, the landlord could probably come in, but if I was so concerned I would change the locks. Make sure only you have the key. That way the landlord has to schedule the appointment with you around, as opposed to a random search. Either that or he has to call a locksmith to pick and/or break the lock. He may not want the expense.
  8. Stuck, while I generally agree with this viewpoint, this issue may be too close to home (literally and figuratively) to allow me to be objective. Having Shumer, Higgins, Pataki etc. sticking up for the Bills is a very good thing. I care too much about the area to allow any anti-government meddling stand get in the way of keeping the Bills in Buffalo. I'm willing to excuse just about any "means" to justify that "end."
  9. This is great news. Look for us to spend one of our 3rds on a S. After drafting OT, DT, and OG, not necessarily in that order.
  10. Best Hockey Fight Ever.
  11. Hmmm...I hadn't heard Grady flunked a physical. Did we give him a physical or GB?
  12. You are, of course, correct. I am just livid that we blew the #4 pick in the draft. That fact, combined with the mixed history of UT draft picks over the last 5-7 years and I'd like to avoid Texas players, if possible. I am totally wrong to be this dismissive, but personal feelings are what they are. IMHO, Seymour has been more than simply effective. He's had stretches where he completely dominates the opposition.
  13. I've liked Watson's potential for a while. He just has to show consistent effort. McCargo has come on strong as of late, I just hope its not the Mario effect like Ryan Sims' Peppers effect a few years back. I'm not a very big fan of Wright. I have no discernable reason, other than I'm very sour on Texas players after Mike Williams. I don't know very much about Babatunde Oshinowo or Jesse Mahelona.
  14. After reading JoeF's thread about Marv saying that we needed Mould's cap money to continue upgrading the lines, I looked around at some of the free agents left, here's what I would do.... Sign UFA DT - Grady Jackson - He's not getting any offers, so I don't think that it will take a Pat Williams-type of deal to sign him. He's huge and will command the double team, leaving Triplett as the one-gap guy. He'll also keep the opposing OL off our LBs. Sign RFA G Vince Manuwai - He's at the 3rd round tender, which is high, but he's only 26 and really poised for a breakout. Very strong as a run blocker and can hold his own as pass-blocker. Since we'll be looking for a G in the first three rounds anyway, I'd rather get one with 3 years experience, who is ready to take his game to the next level, rather than the if-come draft pick. Sign UFA DE Lance Johnstone - He's not young (32) and more of a 3rd down pass rush specialist, but in limited snaps with Minnesota the last 3 years, he's had 8, 11 and 10 sacks, respectively. He could be used in place of Kelsey or Denney on passing downs, opposite Schobel. He also wouldn't cost a whole lot. These signings are reasonable, and would allow us to use the #8 on BPA, be it Huff, Davis, Ngata or Winston Justice. There aren't many tackles left out there, but this would help the lines considerably. We would just have to use one of our 1st two picks on a T.
  15. He wrote this in dissecting the schedule... Hey Peter, fug off. We know we didn't have a good year last year or this offseason, no need to rub it in.
  16. I looked on VRBO and came up with these listings...problem is I don't know where they are in relation to the main party area. Any suggestions? http://www.vrbo.com/4737 http://www.vrbo.com/14730 http://www.vrbo.com/83751 And these two that are a bit more.. http://www.vrbo.com/53839 http://www.vrbo.com/84355 Thanks for your help.
  17. Thank you very much Tenny & Bib. I really appreciate the info and will be printing this thread. I will definately make the parade. When we were at Mardi Gras in 2000, they were one of the best parts of being there. How far is Tybee Island from the main Riverwalk area? And how often does the bus run from Tybee Island? The reason I thought of a house/condo is because that is what we do for Fall fest in Ellicottville every year. If a hotel is much better/much more convenient, we'll do that. In New Orleans we stayed at the Days Inn on Canal, which was fine. I would have preferred the Inn on Bourbon, but it was just too much. If I was to look for hotels, any suggestions? My friends are pretty much scattered all over the Northeast, so we'd be flying from BUF, NYC, PIT and BOS.
  18. See Seattle Mariners, 2001 edition.
  19. Hello all A few weeks ago we had a thread where Savannah Georgia's St. Pats celebration was mentioned. I said if my friends and I decided to do it, I'd post for suggestions and help as to where to stay etc. After speaking with everyone, we have decided to do it next year. Since St. Pats is on a Saturday, and we would not have to take too much time off work to go. Also, I post this now because I'm sure places book up early. Thus, I'm hopeful that people can provide suggestions on where to stay, flights, where to eat, best places to party etc. I'd be going with 10 guys, so if we could rent a 5 bedroom house/condo or something like that in the right area it may be a bit more affordable than a hotel. Thanks in advance for your help.
  20. While I completely agree with you, all of that in one draft is a tall order. I was hopeful that some of those things could have been addressed in FA. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way.
  21. We spent two weeks on St. Martin. Absolutely loved it. Shopped, did activities & Gambled on the Dutch side, stayed and ate on the French side. We stayed at Le Meridian which was terrific. I have nothing but good things to say about the place. Let me know if you want more specific info.
  22. Thats a mighty big assumption you are making...that all 47 players knew what was going on as it was happening. If a rape took place, perhaps none of the 47 (save the rapists) knew it was happening when it happened. Some may have heard hearsay or gossip afterwards, some MAY have known that it was happening. She claimed that she was raped in a bathroom by 3 guys, not in an open gang bang. They may not have even been lacrosse players, just people who came over for the party. So to say that all 47 kids knew what was going on and did nothing to stop it is a tad overzealous. So now if 3 kids from the lacrosse team raped someone, we should villify the entire University? Gotcha.
  23. Lets see what the DNA shows. The individuals responsible should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. However, there were not 47 rapes and the rest of the team does not deserve to be vilified.
