  1. Maybe she used those Swiffer pads.
  2. 0 posts. Last Active: 15th March 2007 - 04:11 PM Birthday 28 May 1977. Location Germany. I sent him a birthday PM and so can you. I'm guessing...he/she will be surprised.
  3. The Federal government's percent tax on a gallon of gas exceeds the oil companies' profit percentage. And feel free to add in your State's taxation per gallon. Plus, the federal government also taxes those profits earned by the oil companies. They are collecting money hand over foot off of these oil companies. Let's see the latest results of government intervention: - the ethanol mandate that is driving up food costs. Let's not mention the government corn subsidies, the fact that E85 fuel gives about 30% less fuel economy. - the expansion of daylight savings time, that is consuming more energy because of increased lighting usage in the morning. - the push for florescent light bulbs with the minor problem of their mercury content showing up in landfills.
  4. Not to mention the huge increase in the numbers employed by the private sector, largely immune from discharge - whether you are a star performer or a slug. That attenuates things. In days past, there was a "civil service" discount - wages were less, in exchange for that lifetime sinecure. That has changed - government pay is good pay indeed. I'm not aware of any mass exodus from the public sector in pursuit of better pay. Quite the contrary - same as always, once one get that special-protection status handed to workers guaranteed by the tax rolls and protective legislation - few leave. They may crab, but walk?...seldom. They tough it out for 30 years or so, and in most local, county, or state jurisdictions, have their retirement payments based not on their average wage through the years, but on a few peak years, generally their last few. So this large number of wage earners attenuate things. Regardless of good or bad economic times, the government worker is rarely discharged. They may get shuffled, re-assigned - but normally are not reduced in pay or benefits.
  5. Everything...except impacting Congressional Democrats blocking drilling - for years - in ANWAR, off the coast of FLA, CA, and in the Gulf of Mexico. As we speak, the ChiComms are planning drilling operations for the Cubans for Gulf oil. Oh well. Better a congressman insures re-election, than the draining of the wallets of the citizenry... be sure to vote this November!
  6. That's a good one!
  7. Well, that's different. That's a social GOOD. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...80306/1090/EDIT
  8. How about a $3 surcharge on tickets to right this grave injustice? All true fans would gladly pay this for their beloved Peters.
  9. Well...how does the company you work for pay for your salary raises? I saw this in a book about making a self-employed career in computer work: "We offer... INNOVATIVE DESIGNS LOW PRICES HIGH QUALITY FAST RESULTS ...pick any two, and let's talk.". Ain't it the truth?
  10. You are a good man, my friend. I hope things work around for the better for you and yours.
  11. I appreciate the clarification.
  12. A timely polar bear comment...not everybody drinks Al Gore's Kool-Aid...although it's a daily staple of school systems nationwide. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...70332/1022/LETT
  13. Soooo...if I'm surrounded by a bunch of Netflickers watching their stuff, their pleasure could be my pain, even though we all more or less pay the same price of admission?
  14. Are you calling her a pin head?
  15. Thanks - are you saying that this Netflix box is acting like a tv cable DVD recorder when one purchases a PPV flick...downloads it onto the DVD box hard drive? That's certainly different than streaming.
  16. Seems Ocho Dinko didn't pay his property tax. A fellow calling himself DanZinski writes: "Cincinnati television reports that Bengals receiver Chad Johnson owes the IRS $13,000 on a condo he bought four years ago and has never paid taxes on. The auditor’s office revealed Johnson’s delinquency on Tuesday, and now everyone is using it as an excuse to jump on him even more. An organization called Parents for Public Schools, for instance, is killing Johnson because a large chunk of the property tax he didn’t bother paying would’ve gone to school funding. “We have classes where students have to share books,” a spokeswoman for Parents for Public Schools said. “We have classes where teachers are just photocopying textbook pages.” Look what you’re doing Chad! Because you won’t pay your taxes, kids are having to share textbooks! Could Chad Johnson possibly be any more evil and selfish than he is? My God…this guy is the worst human being since Hitler. " http://sportswrap.berecruited.com/2008/05/...ricas-children/ Well, I don't think property taxes are a concern of the IRS - but what the heck, it's For THE Children!, so anything goes. I wonder...is DanZinski is a Ryerson graduate?
  17. I heard a blurb on my radio this morning about this. It made me think about a post here a while back - by Fezmid, IIRC. It was about some ISPs wanting to charge more to folks that are heavy users of "bandwidth". I certainly have limited knowledge of internet things, but I assume that a lot of people watching a streaming movie could slow things down for others. I picture one of those all-you-can-eat buffets, where there is a small group that continually shoves food down their throat, and constantly jumps up and crowds the line to get more and more - making others wait, and slowing them down.
  18. I cringe every time I hear one of 'em say " We like to stick to our game plan for at lease a quarter (or so)". Even if the defense is slicing and dicing their plan. Back when QBs called their own plays, and they were dealing with bump and run coverage, head slaps and the like, I think that the moxie of the QB mattered a bit more. And some had it in abundance. A fun bunch, too. Several were booze hounds, smoked like a chimney, and chased tail wherever and whenever. These days, if a pro athlete farts, there is no lack of people running to construct the gallows.
  19. I am properly chastened. ...I had visions of tires pressurized way above specs.
  20. You may as well ask Congress to kick their own teeth over nothing that aids them. None of them are jumping on board with the 'ole Waffle. They stuck their fingers in the wind, and detected no compelling breeze.
  21. Well - you certainly are a zealot! Back down that tire pressure. Tire wear, blowout, but more importantly, the contact patch is out of whack. Dry or wet conditions, you can lose control that was avoidable. Kill you and yours if you like, but not some innocent schmuck or his family because you want to squeeze your nickel. Got that?
