Would the tone of the board be different
stuckincincy replied to evanstoprobowl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
DC Zimmer's done a decent job so far. However, they are still cursed with their arch idiot OC Bob Bratkowski. In Bengal Land, poor results by a coach, never results in a change until the contract expires. I amaze my wife several times during the season. She drifts by now and then when a game is on, and I lift up my hand and point at the screen. I say "Watch" - it's a sweep wide right. Bingo. Then I say watch, fly pattern left. Now Palmer's calling an audible. This will be off-tackle left. They're going for it on 4th and one now. It will be a deep hand-off right. Ball carrier gets tackled for a 3 yard loss. If they are down in the waning minutes, Palmer will reliably throw an interception deep right. Marvin seems to have gotten better at telling time, at least in pre season. We shall see when the games are played for real marbles... -
Happy B'Day to all !!!!!

Looks very good to opposing DC's, I'd imagine. Nothing is better than aged OL vet spending the last six years in the NFC coming in 3 days before season start, I 'd say...
-
The OL certainly put the league on notice during the preseason games.

Last guy out, lock up. AFAIK, Runyan's been on the market for months with no takers. 13 years in the NFL. No surprise about his knee problem.

A man doesn't kiss and then tell words about a woman. You know that. Delete your post.

"All we are sayin', is give thread drift a chance".

Well - you can't blame an outside writer who only can look at the ps record, and while everybody knows that preseason losses don't generally mean a lot - the fact is that in a couple of them, they were soundly...soundly spanked. The 1st team offense was abysmal by anyone's standards. Add in the late dumping of Snert, and Walker. The picture painted is pretty bleak, so I can see why that writer tossed us into the trash heap.

(7-9 x 3) AND 'TO' and still 'no respect ' around the

Do you think anyone in the general public could make sense of your thread title? -

I'd sure as h*ll take advantage of young legs and run a bunch of guard pull run plays. -
Quite so. Have at least a half-way decent line before you spend the big bucks for that passer. I appreciate the gate appeal of picking a top collegian QB. But were I DET, until I got the OL straightened away, I'd go for the Tebow types. I won't speculate how he will fare in the NFL, but I do think he will sell tix and provide fan entertainment.

Things are making a lot of sense now.......

Cripes... a rb of all, saying "we now know what we are doing now" or whatever he said, boggles the mind. After 5 preseason games... If I were his head coach, he'd be in my office snap snap, and I'd give him some education, and tell him he won't be getting the game 1 start. He can go in on play #2, but assuming he has a typical contract that pays out for starts, he loses that cash. Never utter words that imply your club is not prepared. Never. -
I think they have to keep a tight end in to chip off a Pat* defender, too. I'd put that rookie in. I understand the book on him - college spread offense, not much of a blocker etc. - so toss him into the fire, too. My guess is that he can at least interfere with a rusher. You gotta to find out, sooner or later, if he's a pro player. And you are right - he could well pop out for a quick completion.

I believe by Federal law, you can't carry a stiletto. I have one, that I bought as a kid for something like 50 cents. I just measured the blade - 2 1/8 inch. I also own a bayonet. It's a round one that fits onto a Mk. III Enfield .303 rifle. I don't own an Enfield. Bayonet lugs on rifles are now illegal, although I can't recall when a bayonetting was reported. The 1968 CGA (Gun Control Law) restricted many things. Including mail-order firearms. I have a mail-order .410, and my local drug store where I grew up sold cartridges. Firearms were available to all, but somehow we muddled along without shooting each other. Unlike today. Funny, that - when guns were more available, gun violence was less. Society sure changed over the years... -
Were I the Pats* DC, I'd spend a few plays picking on the youngster Bell early on. My DE runs wide, Bell moves out and reaches out, overextends his right arm and I send a LB to whack him in the ribs hard. Sorry... young DBs are picked on, and so are young linemen. He's gonna have to learn when to drop that right arm.

Seems so. I was in line at a T-W a few weeks ago to pick up a HD DVR (they have an outlet of convenience in a local mall to return bum equipment, handle billing, etc. ). The fellow behind me was ceasing his service, and mentioned one of the dish outfits. I told him about upgrading or problem equipment being replaced by new causing a contract duration re-up, and he said, no, not a problem, and said if he moved, he was told to pitch the dish into the trash. That made sense to me - it wasn't worth paying somebody to come out and peel it off his roof and if the removal resulted in a roof leak, I assume they would have liability.

There is something so strange about this board

Well, I only saw the HOF game, but the impression I got from "watching" the other ps games on those NFL/CBS.com game center things, was that punt returns against them were substantial. Dunno - was he kicking a number of "line drives"? -

For better or worse, they will be back on board when TO hits the field.

A pocket knife is a concealed weapon? Cripes, kids sporting a jackknife in school was pretty common in days of yore. No Columbine stuff occurred, either. -
9-volts are the missile of choice. What you lose in weight is made up by the sting of the terminals and the rectangular shape. Ask former Pirates player Dave Parker...
