  1. I think your looking at where they are now versus the trajectory of the program. I can't speak for the administration, or SUNY that has traditionally deemphasized athletics, but they have worked steadily to raise the profile of their program. To say that winning in the MAC is their peak is pretty demoralizing. As a university UB belongs with other B1G Ten schools. Athletically they don't, yet. The idea of being peers with Central Michigan, Northern Illinois and Bowling Green forever it's just depressing.
  2. But Buffalo would be a good fit in the AAC now that they are losing 3 members to the Big 12. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2021/09/03/big-12-conference-new-schools-join-byu-houston-ucf-cincinnati/5721822001/
  3. They should highlight all Buffalo artists. Rick James, Cannibal Corpse, Green Jello.
  4. Buffalo is too small to play hardball. You want to be in the NFL? You have to subsidize. This isn't Dallas, LA or even Las Vegas where a $5B stadium will pay itself off. You may not like it but it's a fact.
  5. No one knows what the future of college football looks like but right now the only realistic upgrade moves for UB are Conference USA or the American. The B1G Ten makes some sense (location, academics, TV market) but I can't see them taking a MAC school as a new member. Could the Big 12 pick Buffalo? It would give West Virginia a regional rival.
  6. Why not Buffalo? They could use a Northeast school to replace UConn. Top public college in New York. Good at football and basketball. Buffalo is a top 60 TV market and the alumni base includes NYC metro. UB would be a great fit in the AAC.
  7. Yes on Vantrese in this game. Two very sloppy throws were picks but saved by flags. But I've seen him play better. This might just be opening night rust. But good news all around. Running game looked solid. Defense good. O-line? Fuzak was getting beat by Wagner's one stud Titus Leo. Kicking, perfect. Huge improvement from years past where extra points were less than 50-50.
  8. Lol at the different yardsticks used for the Patriots vs the Bills. If Buffalo had their QB situation no one would be talking playoffs. Then again the Patriots do have those special helmet radios that keep working during plays. Definitely a help for a rookie QB.
  9. Keep in mind any town south of Buffalo gets considerably more snow than the city and Northtowns. That said Hamburg is a great place.
  10. Yeah. Lance Leipold's UB team lost to FCS Albany in 2016. Mo's doin' better. FYI, UB played Wagner in 1997 and Wagner shut them out 20-0. So this was payback.
  11. 69-7 against a tomato can. Their one TD off a muffed punt. They took care of business otherwise. Now we face a P5, B1G Nebraska. A totally winnable game. Then ranked Coastal Carolina at home. These next two games will tell us a lot.
  12. Okay they covered.
  13. They also looked at UB. Why not there? State land. Lots of parking. Extend Metro there. UB could play there so it gets more use.
  14. I was dead wrong about Hollister's impact this year. I thought he'd be big.
  15. But Wagner is bad.
  16. I knows it's Wagner. But UB looks pretty sharp.
  17. There was a thread on this topic recently. In a nutshell there is nothing that isn't skeevy. A good workaround is finding a college kid and signing up for SundayTicket-U for $125. To qualify you have to enter a current college student, their school and their birthday. If it checks out you can use your own credit card. If you have no option but the skeevy sites, find an old laptop that is wiped clean of any personal data, go find a public Wi-Fi and watch. That way if you get infected with malware, there's little chance of harm. That's about it.
  18. I am under the impression games designated as "ESPN3" are free to stream as long as you are a cable or satellite customer of ESPN. ESPN+ games require you to subscribe to that level, which I think is $5.99/mo. now. You might want to got the the site and see if the game appears as an option for you.
  19. Ask yourself how you'd feel if it were the Bills going with a rookie starter and no active backup on roster. Would you be feeling like we'd be a playoff contender?
  20. I love threads that promise one thing and give you something completely different.
  21. Genius! Now he can add another running back. 4-D chess! And his special helmet radio that tells him who's open.
  22. At Polar Park in Worcester, the Triple-A home of the Red Sox, they have a "convenience store." Walk in, grab what you want, scan your items and wave your chipped credit card or phone to pay. So simple. So obvious. And yet few is any other venues do this.
  23. Did Khalil Mack survive cuts in Chicago? I kid, but his younger brother Ladarius, a UB alum, was cut by the Bears yesterday. Khalil won't like that.
