  1. Anyone watching? Only two episodes in and I'm already hooked. No idea why - it just seems so different!
  2. Art: Why don't you stay in one of the Bills rate hotels? Did you find a better deal? Many are telling me that so many places are already sold out.
  3. This thread reminds me of the time when VHS movies first came out (yes, I am that old) and everyone predicted that movie theaters would all be put out of business in a few years. There is still a majority that enjoy the live action and atmosphere (and Kenny's Pinto tailgate).
  4. What did the Sheraton charge you for their balcony room on Bourbon?
  5. I don't see a problem here. Wear your Buffalo Bills socks!!
  6. So glad that our society continues to evolve and give all citizens the opportunity for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness - just like the Constitution promises.
  7. I expect the Bills to make the playoffs...just like I do every year. I expect to have a great TBD tailgate at the opener and I expect wine and stromboli from Mead. I expect to have a a blast with visiting Bills Fans in New Orleans
  8. You may be rights. But IMHO, eating a burger in NOLA is like eating wings in Midland, TX.
  9. This is for those who have really been watching (and listening) tonight...
  10. I'm coming dressed as a Bills fan...
  11. What about the barbecued shrimp & grilled oysters at Dragos? And a ham po-boy at Mothers? I have had 3 trips in the last fews months for site visits and Super Bown week. Ate at the Bourbon House in the Crown Plaza - awesome. And whoever mentioned Deanos in the Quarter is right - delicious and not too pricey. I thought Acme House overrated and the lines were way too long. Speaking of lines - Cafe Du Monde was a 1 hour wait - so we went down Royal Street (towards Canal) and found the Beignet Cafe. Walked right in and had fresh made beignets. Delicious. Checked out the World War 2 museum and it's restaurant. This place has quadrupled in size over the last few years and is now a "must see" attraction but allow enough time. Went to Mardi Gras World too - it was great!
  12. Noooooooo. You actually ate burgers in New Orleans? You better come on back so we can teach you how to eat down there! And you missed the "Mother's" experience! :D
  13. Thanks NoSaint. I'm actually a certified meeting planner in another life so love negotiating with hotels. You're right - the Quarter is 1 block away, but I always count the blocks to Bourbon Street. Looking forward to whatever ideas you locals come up with for pre-game parties. And please keep it close by - most will not have vehicles. Dragos - here I come!!! Broiled oysters yummmmm! Let me know if I can help with anything else.
  14. What more information do you need on the hotel?. It's all in my previous post (click on the image to see the flier). My phone # is on the bottom if you have questions. Everyone is on their own for tickets. They don't do the groups at this stadium without full payment up front. So, someone would have to go out and purchase the tickets outright and then try to resell them. If you know anyone who is solvent enough to do this please let me know.
  15. Hi All: Please check the Tailgate section for your hotel info.
  16. Wow - finally - hotel info for New Orleans. Five days on the phone and lots of emails. Have signed contracts in place for hotels that are near the action and within reasonable walking (or trolley) distance of everything. I know you will find cheaper rooms out in the suburbs, but please consider the parking expense (and the risk of DUI) of drving back and forth in a rental car. Hopefully this bugger is uploaded and you can see the attachment. Diane
  17. And once again, Aussie will be there. With Matt and Pancho Billa
  18. Still negotiating with the Hotel Sales Manager. Then I have to have a signed contract. Stay tuned. Working on the Sheraton 4 points on Bourbon Street. It also has balcony rooms (to hang Bills banners and toss beads)....
  19. At Econolodge on Milestrip. $89 per night. With Pancho Billa and son Matthew.
  20. Okay - we all know the weekend now. I will be in touch with the hotel tomorrow morning and check the rate. Stay tuned.
