What I equate it to in hockey is, when you pass it to a good player they want that pass hard, on the tape. They want the puck to arrive as quick as possible before the defense arrives. They will catch the pass when it arrives. When you pass to a bad player, you want to lay it to them in space so they can actually have a chance of receiving it and not clanking it directly to an opponent. You're almost trying to catch the pass FOR the guy you're passing it to by passing it limply. That pass to Dawson looked like the second thing.

I get that, and I'm annoyed at all of the above, but this is 2023 and when one of the best 96 guys at his position can't catch it I get crooked. It's not like a Josh fastball, that was more like Josh knowing this guy isn't trustworthy, he's thinking "I almost need to make the catch for him" and float the ball in there, and it gets dropped anyway.

I don't know why, but when McDermott got here in 2018 the Bills positively STOLE games they had no business winning right at the end. I thought, maybe this guy is the coach that can do it, that can overcome a teams deficiency to win. Since then, and more so every year, McDermott has taken absolutely loaded teams into games and done only what was absolutely necessary to lose games - no more and no less. I had hoped against hope he wasn't the inheritor of Billsiness like the coaches of the past. But if he pulls this one out and manages to lose it...
