I would agree with this

I completely get the spirit here... you could go with Edmunds, Phillips, Hughes, Singletary, Teller etc... sure they made impacts on their teams if they are starters and being productive etc... but the bottom line to me the only one that I think got away that we mismanaged was Teller... the rest I go with the Juice wasnt worth the squeeze, sure Edmunds is productive... is he 15mm productive... not to me... Hughes was productive to a point, was he 10mm productive, not to me... his performance was already falling off... Singletary, sure he started and did a bit but were we gonna pay him when we had Cook... so to your point, the folks we let go we made the triage cap move... you have to identify those players that are going to command a percentage of your cap that doesnt measure with thier impact and contribution to your team... with significant consideration to their replacement and their potential production.... (James Cook is in this debate with McBeane currently) ... so to me your thought is very much on point.

I saw this I love when he throws and people are just floored...

I know but cmon... cant you see a resemblance... LOL I think they were gonna use dna from the spleen to be sure LOL

I am in Tampa, I have no choice LOL... well actually I do... I see their games a lot, he really has done a nice job with them... Down here people are kinda in the well... he isnt Jamais Winston... or Josh Freeman... and probably played as well as Brady did his last year here... and they didnt have to suck for 10 years to get a guy... but I am not sure they see him at this point as a savior... More like a Andy Dalton or even like a Tua... I will say this he seems very much engaged in the community and he is definately not causing needless drama... I will be interested to see him with another year in the system... but I digress....
-
Well I figured Baker and Dawson would do it... but noted next time I do a (I mean lets face it) frivilous comparison I will be sure to include them LOL.. .kind of like you I am down near Tampa myself (Crystal River) but only for 2 years... I am trying with little success to incorporate a 2nd favorite NFC team (The Bucs) into my consiousness... but alas... I havent been able to do it... I think its still too soon... I will end up rooting for the lightning before becoming a true Bucs fan... That said, i have watched him and find myself kinda rooting for him... he is not a bad deal for Tampa for sure... keeps them in the playoff contention so I agree great find and really you dont see the resemblance?

I agree training camp fodder unless somehow he is a revelation.. but 90% training camp fodder. Spector probably goes on IR, gets cut, or whatever... we fill the spot.
-
Ok just a little fun... saw a pic of Baker and it occurred to me damn he looks alot like Dawson... thoughts for fun?

I 100% agree with this... unless this gets ugly and is unresolved into the season... he doesnt play, holds out to game 10 or whatever the last game is and then tries to comeback so he can get his year in. Ugly things happen then when a player is coming back at a time when supreme focus is required... if he doesnt handle it properly, sits and pouts and takes it to the media cause he is not playing etc... then it can become distracting... In the camp time... this stuff is done all the time, players get it and may have done it or thought about it as well... you only have so much time to be paid and as a 200lb RB who puts his nose in the pile 10 -20 times a game... clearly that longevity is at risk in a precarious way.... Bottom line, this should not be a distraction unless it is handled poorly by both parties and extends deep into the season... JMO Last thing I will say, a prolonged hold out is really risky for him as well... Ray D comes in and produces in a similar way and the team moves on like next man up... that is gonna hurt his negotiating on a league wide level... I also recognize that he and his brother are not the same people... but I can imagine people have Dalvin in the back of their minds going we hope he doesnt fall off that cliff... etc... this is a really interesting exhibition of negotiation for sure...
-
AJaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!! LOL but seriously are we even going to be able to field a team at this point if we have 2 or more guys a day going down... clearly an exaggeration... but is this recency bias and I am just forgetting other years? or is this year worse than most... seems to me it is...

Thats the quadry right... you have a RB who had 1 excellent season... he finished 1st (tied) for TDs 16th in Rushing Yards 18th in rush yards per game 8th in ypcarry 22nd in first downs 30 ish in recieving yards 26th in total yards from scrimmage 16th in 20+ runs He wants paid like a top 3 RB at 17 mm or whatever... I wonder if he signs with the Cardinals or the Jets, Patriots, Saints, Cowboys, Bears, Giants, Packers, Steelers, Browns, etc... if he is number 1 in TDs again... or was that production a function of the an offense that moved the ball at will... Just looking at stats... you see where there is a quandry behind wanting to groom and keep your own and investing 17mm plus into this player... I dont know if he should or shouldnt do it... but in he end he cant let this tear the team up... I suspect he is likely to cut bait here unless the contract is substantially less than 17mm...
-
Well for sure... I was teasing about the rubber mats and bike thing... but I am not sure this is the best decision for him especially if it becomes acrimonious... and move into him sitting out... I cannot image that would add value on the outside for a contract. Flip side is from his point... and if I get hurt what does that do... I just hope this resolves pleasantly...
-
I think I read from another poster and I agree... to me this is a clear change in stance... why though... well sounds like they are talking and JC is putting a stake in the ground... so either they get this done soon... or it kinda blows up... but to me something is happening on this front that will cause a definitive direction.... deal or acrimony.... quite interested to see how this plays out... but at least he wont get hurt on the bike... take up the rubber mats though... LOL

Saw a pic of him standing next to Max... that dude is also a physical specimen.... they list him at 205... he looks closer to Bernard than 205... maybe optics...

When can we start to freak out about Spencer Brown?

I am with you from everything I am hearing is that he looks a lot like the old tre... problem is tre is getting old and he has had major injuries.. but if he can come in and regain some of his old form and not be required to Island the other teams best receiver all game... what a huge win for us. And man would an improved pass rush help....
-
You and me both lol

A minor repair of the spleen cartilage in the knee quick fix lol

If Tre White returns to previous form or close to it... I am not sure I could have expected Max to hit that level his rookie year.. Tre was Prime time in the day. If he is coming close to that, not sure there is a better free agent signing out there for the money... JMO .... Max could be the cherry on top...
