  1. Will be in town for Thanksgiving and planning to grab tickets to the SNF 49ers game. At the moment, hoping to avoid driving and parking at the stadium since I imagine I'll be having a few drinks. That said, from what I can tell, getting an Uber from the stadium, especially after a night game sounds like it could be a pretty long and miserable experience. Curious if anyone can confirm or deny? Another option that is coming up is the NFTA express bus service: https://metro.nfta.com/schedules/game-day-express. Looks like it would get you back to Downtown Buffalo in about 35 minutes. Anyone ever use this option, and if so curious how it worked out (especially if you've used it after a night game)? Thanks!
  2. To the OP's point, the NFL.com power rankings this week actually nailed this "sleepwalking" point as well with a pretty good analogy (in bold). The "boxer" analogy seems to apply to the entire team, including Josh sometimes in particular. I know I've heard the broadcast crew during games on more than one occasion over the years say something to the effect of Josh sometimes seems to need a good hit or two on him to get the juices flowing. Amari Cooper woke up after halftime in his Bills debut and clearly added a dimension to the offense that hadn't been there. That was a highly encouraging development, and it theoretically should get better with time. The veteran's presence in the lineup also appeared to give rookie Keon Coleman a little boost in his best showing to date, with four catches for 125 yards. The entire offense was incredibly sleepy early in the game, which has been an issue before, so it can't be blamed on getting Cooper up to speed. Buffalo got going eventually, and the defense also rallied after a shaky start that saw the home team fall into a 10-0 hole against lowly Tennessee. The end product: A 34-10 win. You'd like to see the Bills give a more complete 60 minutes week in and week out against seemingly lesser foes, but that's not really how they're built. They're sort of the boxer who needs to take a few shots before the match really starts. That worked against the Titans and Cardinals, but it didn't work against Houston and Baltimore. Translation: The Bills need to get this out of their system before the playoffs.
  3. Have to disagree. In no way would it be an auto FG at the likely distance it would have been to kick it. It was extremely windy and their kicker was certainly not having a good night. You have to know Rodgers is throwing the hail mary in that situation, particularly after having time to talk it over with another classic McD defensive timeout in a big moment.
  4. Exactly. McD will NEVER learn if he hasn't by now. Unbelievable. Solid coach who turned us into a competitive team, but after all this time, it's clear he's playoff caliber but not championship caliber, and probably never will be. As many have said, we need a HC who understands offense, and can provide Josh stability for years to come even if OCs leave much like the Chiefs have given Mahomes. Not much point in a defensive head coach whose defenses rarely show up when it counts in big moments, including giving up 3 and long regularly, not understanding how to defend screens and almost always getting burned by hail marys everyone in the building knows are coming. Rushing two at the end of the half last night was case in point, and we needed a timeout to draw up that brilliant strategy.
  5. Groot's going to need a huge game setting the edge. Because of this, not expecting his numbers to pop off the stat sheet even though his play will be vital to our success. His length and quickness at the edge will go a long way to containing Henry and the "MVP"
  6. Trader Joe's has started stocking Hatch Chiles lately. If they're still kicking around probably some sort of stuffed chile type situation with some meat/beans/rice. That or green chile cheeseburgers. Probably more New Mexico than Arizona, but close enough!
  7. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10124564-8-shocking-nfl-trades-that-would-impact-playoff-races-in-2024 Bills Get: EDGE Joey Bosa Chargers Get: 2025 Round 3 Pick The AFC East has belonged to the Bills in recent years—the team has won the division each of the past four seasons. But after what seems to some a shaky offseason, it appears Buffalo's stranglehold on the AFC East may have loosened. Much has been made of the team's situation at wide receiver after the departure of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. But the Bills have a potential weakness on defense as well. Only one player for Buffalo eclipsed 10 sacks last season—edge-rusher Leonard Floyd, who is now in San Francisco. Buffalo's projected starters on the edge (Gregory Rousseau and A.J. Epenesa) combined for just 11.5 sacks a year ago. My take - seems to be too unrealistic to be anything but clickbait. When Bosa's not hurt, he seems to act like a hothead on the field. And we certainly don't need to saddle our books with another big contract that could end up being Von Miller 2.0 after doing so much off season surgery to get our salary cap in a good spot. Discuss!
  8. Can confirm. Also John's Roast Pork. Agreed. Locals here eat plenty of Cheesesteaks, they just tend to avoid the tourist traps like Geno's and Pat's like the plague. Best I've had so far is at Angelo's Pizzeria.
  9. Not to worry. I hear Hurts is squatting 1200 pounds these days to compensate.
  10. Why so defensive here, MykeJP88?
  11. Yes, everyone knows these beat writers are not trying to solve the Gaza crisis here. But...call me crazy, but if typing things on public forums is part of the job, maybe Sal should care just a little? Not to mention it shows respect to the players to spell their names right. Honestly, it takes two seconds to double check before hitting "post."
  12. The focus was so strong on that one that he forgot how to spell "Williams" lol
  13. Yeesh. Pretty rough on the spelling of player names and basic grammar.
  14. As I currently live in Philly, something I'll no doubt see a lot of hand wringing about over the coming months, and it could get very interesting depending how the Iggles look coming out of the gate this season. Looks like some trouble in paradise brewing before the start of the new season after their pretty epic meltdown last year (btw, still mad we and the refs gave away that game!). I've never understood the "elite" that others see in Hurt's game, and his leadership/maturity which has been touted as one of his strongest traits now comes into question for me as well. Don't get me wrong, Sirianni is a huge d-bag, but this is not what you want to hear from your $255 mil starting quarterback after a little adversity. Eagles Jalen Hurts Has Interesting Response To Innocuous Question About Nick Sirianni
  15. Surprised they didn't bring in Jason Kelce yet on the Fox side. Terry and Jimmy are both unwatchable and have been for years.
  16. Not mad about it the more it sinks in. Great player at a time who is still very good, but the juice was no longer worth the squeeze. Main takeaway from reading through far more of this thread than I'd care to admit is to be stunned that people seem have a hard time spelling the last name Cook, as in James Cook. Continuing to add an "e" or an "s" to the end of his name after having been on the team two seasons is not only inexplicable, but creates unnecessary risk for typing-related injury.
  17. Man, whoever’s got the job of bathroom cleanup in the men’s room at pretty much any football stadium…woof
  18. Meh - I'll watch in the background but not going to make it an event. This is probably the least interesting matchup possible from a rooting interest. On one hand, you have the Chiefs (enough said), and the other is a 49ers team with all the talent in the world but who can't seem to get it done in the big game recently - annoying in its own right given their talent level across the board. My heart says go 49ers for obvious reasons against the hated Chiefs, but my head is allowing for the possibility that a Chiefs win could be good in the long run if it causes Reid and Kelce to decide to ride off into the sunset on top.
  19. Not just you OP. I don’t think I can stomach the chiefs again so soon after last week’s heartbreak. Will happily tune in to root for Detroit though!
  20. Or maybe, just maybe, he’s just as classless as his obnoxious family and we’ finally saw his true character. Apple doesn’t fall far… Dude was born on third base in both life and football having landed in the perfect spot. The entitlement really showed.
  21. Generally I really like the idea of menus based on opponent’s regional cuisine, but in this case screw the Chiefs! Going Buffalo style but since it’s only January there’s still the guilt to try and stick to new year’s resolutions to eat healthier at least. Probably doing this buffalo style salmon which is actually pretty good. https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1024774-hot-and-tangy-buffalo-salmon?smid=ck-recipe-iOS-share
  22. Understood but he's not the mike. Who's playing next to Dodson if Bernard needs to tag out is where I was going.
  23. If Bernard can somehow miraculously go, have to imagine he may need to be on a pitch count? If so, i'm torn on who tags in for him. Klein has the vet savvy but can't cover while Williams brings the atheticism but is likely to get picked on in his own right given lack of experience. That said, if we can get quality snaps from 43 on even half the snaps I'll take it as a win!
