AFC Championship Game Week Thread - Bills at Chiefs
MikePJ76 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems like Jerry Jones is preparing to swoop in and steal all the attention this week with the hiring of Brian Schottenheimer. Every show and talking head will stop whatever they are doing and spend all day on that dumpster fire in Arlington. -
what is going on this morning? Did the WGR callers finally get america online and find tbd or something. Those damn AOL and Prodigy CD's are still causing problems.

Sounds like Brian Schottenheimer is the leader in the club house. -
Dalton Kincaid- why so underwhelming this season?
MikePJ76 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hope the offense functions as a high performing unit. They are built around the running game. Kincaid and Coleman are a part of the running game. the game plan was clearly not about attacking the ravens through the air. Coleman drew a really important penalty that set up a td. if all that is important to you in football is wr’s and tight end stats then you will never be happy. Winning in the playoffs in the cold is about being physical and being smart. and for the record no I am not worried about two young players and separation. -

I will never understand the mindset of most fans. the constant complaining about Kincaid and Coleman is really absurd to me. -
Not passing judgement but the people who call into the station sound like mental patients who got a hold of a phone and immediately called in. i get the station is about fan involvement but the callers are so bad. the shows are fine I guess. I enjoy Sal and one bills live. but damn the callers, the only thing worse than their sports opinions is their insistence on telling everyone about their feelings on todays other events. As if anyone listening didn’t know that they are. I don’t understand why the morning show does not have big guests on. Morning shows around the country get the best guests, sports or non sports related. WGR does not.

The bills were at home, they more than likely barring some huge mistake would not have been inside their own 5 and they had all their guys on offense. so no there are none. Starting at your own 30 at home with all your guys is vastly different.

Joe Brady, Josh Allen, and the playcalling
MikePJ76 replied to Low Positive's topic in The Stadium Wall
I noted during the week that something in the Baltimore scheme gave buffalos passing offense a real hard time this year. That second Miami game and both Baltimore games. even early in the titans game the bills offense had issues. That is another team running the ravens ish scheme. -

You could also credit the ravens for playing good defense.- 110 replies

They had the ball inside their own 5 without shakir. It was a tough ask against a very good defense. that Houston game has no parallels to yesterday.

My opinions on cooper are well known. i am shocked they have not run slants and skinny posts more often with him. He is perfect for those and crossers. but I honestly don’t care if he never catches a ball here again as long as the bills win. He won’t be back and he was really expensive costing a top 100 pick but if they win I don’t care.

If you did a poll before the game every single one of us would have been excited that Allen would have had the ball in a tie game with 1:33 left. but for the first time maybe ever the other team made a critical mistake. that Andrews drop was like if frank wycheck air mailed a ball two rows deep into the stands instead of a completed forward pass to Kevin Dyson.

I meant the public perception and the fans perception. if they beat Reid and the chiefs that all ends. If they win a championship he becomes one of those guys. national media guys will start referencing him in building culture and learning how to win. Currently Dan Campbell gets more respect in this regard then Sean does.

I wonder how often two teams playing in the championship games have each won 15 games in the season? -
He has beat The almighty Mike Tomlin, Sean Payton and John Harbaugh in the playoffs in the last two years. the big one to put him on the map and get recognition is next week. He secured his job here for years wit yesterdays win. A win next week puts him in the national conversation with the greats. a Super Bowl win would make him a hall of fame coach.

I was listening to Chris simms podcast last night. He said the ravens lost the game and the bills didn’t win it. what a moron. You would think growing up with Phil Simms as your dad and understand bellichick and parcell’s style of play especially in the postseason. that game was exactly how the giants and pats won super bowls. Play physical and smart. No penalties no turnovers and make the other team chase the game and make mistakes. -
They are different. they spent two years dedicated to building an offensive line, with bigger more physical wr and they have three good tight ends. that is the recipe for winning playoff football. bullying the ravens, broncos and jets at the line of scrimmage in the final 3 games at home this year is a direct result of the effort put into to build a running game with a bigger more physical group on offense.

his misses will never get brought up. He missed a couple of throws to wide open guys. Had he hit likely on that first play of the final drive he might have gone 60 yards. If the ravens scored quicker Buffalo would have had to get first downs there at the end to win. -

I'm watching the various national talking heads. Collin Cowherd is now telling everyone that Buffalo has a good offensive line and better than anyone realizes. These guys don't watch anything but qb's and obsess over the drama. Can't wait to listen to mike francesser after. He was convinced the ravens were just too tough for the little Bills from Buffalo. seriously, it's amazing people still do not realize the bills are a big phyiscal offense that runs the ball to win. -

Interesting tidbit on the ravens. Baltimore is now 0-12 in franchise history when losing the turnover battle in the playoffs and 18-2 when turnover margin is at least tied. Their minus-3 turnover margin in the loss is tied for a franchise-worst in postseason games and the sixth time in franchise history they’ve hit the mark in the postseason. They last went minus-3 in the turnover battle in last year’s Kansas City game.
