Free Agents we like for the 2025 Bills?
MikePJ76 replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think he said it last year on halloween when he was wearing his Gargamel Costume. -
The NFL PA Union should step in and offer help with this imo. They use this as a semi farm system, yes I know college football is the minor league system but this league develops players too. The league should be providing Health Insurance for the players, I mean come on. Salaries I understand a hard line stance from both sides because I imagine they are all operating at a loss or near it but health insurance should be a no brainer.

NFL Combine Thread: 1 (PK, DL & LB's)
MikePJ76 replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dane Brugler was on one bills drive today. -
speaking of dak and the cowboys, I heard on the radio this morning here that The Cowboys are going to resign their DT Osa Odighizuwa to a 21 million a year deal and that Parsons is looking at a deal at 42 million a year. Pretty funny.

Players the Bills have met with at Combine

ha! Nope I am just here for the nonsense. Not a fan of either of those guys so the more absurd they look the better. -

The bills should look into Jordan schultz, apparently he almost started a fight with Ian Rappaport in a starbucks yesterday. Rich kids. I find this story pretty funny. I wish they got into a hair pulling fight and were rolling around the starbucks floor. It would have been hillarious. -
He has directly mentioned the Defensive line each time he has spoken. He even went as far as saying the best teams he has been on had a good qb, oline and dline. Then he said we have the qb and o line. They are going to invest in the D line this year I am just not sure which way they go about it at the moment.

Stafford given permission to seek trade
MikePJ76 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
if he went to the Giants and they drafted Travis hunter and made him a wr The Giants would be turned around over night. -
actually it was 15 games. Many here forget, that 3 game road stretch of Baltimore, Houston and the Jets the team was battling injuries to Cook, Dawkins, Samuels, Shakir. Cook didn't play vs the Jets. That is why they struggled so much against houston. Without samuels and shakir and cook playing banged up that day they just did not have any juice. They then overreacted and dealt a third to cleveland. Just a terrible trade then and now.
-
I wanted Miller gone last year, I still am not convinced he is going to get cut. Joe Buscaglia made a very good case for lowering his cap number with another pay cut since he will count against the cap anyway.
-
yep and the best part was it wasn't hidden in code or anything he said it right out. People hear what they want to hear. Man defense is this years number 1 wr. They are just never going to shut up about it as if its some magic thing. Its fascinating watching people twist things into something they can complain about.

Are we going to add beane’s comments today about Coleman? Or since they are not negative will they just be overlooked? gee I wonder which it will be.

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6159126/2025/02/25/bills-khalil-shakir-contract-extension/ What stands out most about Shakir’s on-field ability was his consistency, dependability when targeted and underrated run-after-catch ability. While Shakir primarily lined up as the slot receiver, he also did much more than just work the middle areas of the field. He was a critical target on wide receiver screens to try and spread out a defense. When plays broke down, and Allen needed to improvise, Shakir showed a terrific knack for finding open space and, even at times, getting behind the defense for a big play. On top of all that, his contact balance to fight through tackle attempts is one of the best in the league. While he isn’t the flashy receiver with gaudy stats, his consistency reflects the perfect embodiment of the type of glue guy the Bills have tried to keep since head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane arrived in 2017.

Commanders DT Johnathan Allen Released.

He is going to get cut. Nobody is trading for that contract. well nobody that is good at their job is trading for that contract. -
Mike Catalana, Dan Fetes and Sean McDermott
-
Actually smoot and carter also had wrist injuries like cooper and coleman. Cost Carter the rest of his season essentially and smoot made it back for the playoffs. I hope they resign smoot.
-
Watch the buffalo plus video I posted here, he says the same things about coleman again to Mike Catalana. Then the guys explain how he said the same thing about Cole Bishop. They also point out that this is the organization motivating these guys to go and work their tails off and to show up ready to go in a few months. And I think that is all it is. Dan Fetes points out very nicely that Terrell Bernard went and worked his tail off after his rookie season and came back ready to go. That is what McDermott and Beane are talking about here. It won't stop the we need a number 1 WR guys from using this as another reason to complain though.
-
So did Coleman but Coleman is public enemy number 1 around here. Just looking for some consistency. Injuries count in the evaluation of a player or they do not.

Did anyone ask him about that 3rd round pick they flushed down the toilet on Amari Cooper? I would love to hear their answer to that.

Yes I think we are all aware of this. The point was that he lived in Syracuse for a few years and understands the weather. -
Free Agents we like for the 2025 Bills?
MikePJ76 replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Made a thread for this but I will put it here too. Made a Andre Cisco highlight reel this morning. He makes all the sense in the world to me even if he grew up a jets fan. -
So this is my thread to make my case that I think Andre Cisco is the perfect stopgap/longterm Free Safety for this defense. I made a highlight reel this morning of his plays that stand out. I am sure I missed some plays but I did it quick and yes this is a HIGHLIGHT reel to show is abilties. If you watch the video (It's long, sorry) you will see he has excellent traits and abilities. He plays deep safety well, can blitz at the line of scrimmage, seems to be a sure tackler, can deliver big hits, covers slot guys in man and most importantly can turn his hips and go back and get the ball. Lets start here, he is a new yorker who went to Syracuse University where he had 13 career interceptions. He will understand the weather in Buffalo having gone to SU. He is a free safety. His signing would allow Rapp/Bishop to be the Strong safety and play near the line and also allow one of them to be the dime and other sub package player, like Rapp in 2023. He had a down year in Jacksonville in 2024, the whole team had a down year and everyone was fired so I am sure that had something to do with it. He is the perfect candidate to come here and sign a one year prove it deal or an inexpensive 2 or 3 year deal to give him some security and allow the Bills to manage the money better. He called out teammates last year saying they quit and didn't give good enough effort after the game vs the bears. Here is an interesting article from yardbarker on Cisco. https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/andre_cisco_is_free_agencys_best_value_at_the_safety_position_despite_his_down_year_with_the_jags/s1_17313_41807936 some highlighted points. Cisco is mainly a "centerfielder", meaning he plays his best ball in the back end of the defense, but he can also play the box and cover guys in the slot when needed. He also has the length and just enough size to be able to cover just about any part of the field from the safety position. A team could really strike gold, here, especially when considering Cisco's projected market value in free agency. NFL cap analysts Josh Queipo and Kyle DeDiminicantanio have Cisco landing a one-year $5.25 million deal in free agency. Pro Football Focus and Spotrac have a richer outlook for Cisco. PFF projects him to land a three-year deal worth $9 million per year and Spotrac has his AAV at $10.8 million per year. Those numbers would tie him at No. 15 and land him at No. 12, respectively among all safety contracts. Spotrac's number is too high and PFF's is toeing the line. If a team gets him on the cheaper side of a one-year deal and he returns to his 2022-2023 form, then Cisco will easily be one of the better free agent signings of the offseason and it'd be nearly impossible to argue otherwise. Spotrac's page for him. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/72445/andre-cisco here is where they see his market value Market Value 1 years, $10,779,945 Avg. Salary: $10,779,945 NFL Rank: 201 S Rank: 4 They compare him to the deal KC gave Justin Reid, 3 years 31 million. If Buffalo can shore up their free safety position with numbers like these, somewhere in the range of 1 year at 5 to 9 million or 3 years at 5 to 9 with incentives it would allow them to focus on other areas in the draft and not force a safety in the first or second round or force bishop/rapp to be a starter. A young vet on a prove it deal is perfect, he seems to be a perfect fit to me. This team needs a centerfielder. Cisco would also not stop them from drafting a young safety and give them a group of 4 that can all play. here is the highlight reel I threw together this morning. I really hope they sign him. I may make another reel of this sort for the other guy I want, Darius Slayton. I will see if I have time tomorrow. Quick Note on the reel, I added in the all 22 replay for a couple of plays because the game film didn't show them. The All 22 shots have no audio. Oh and they played Mr. Brightside after he picked off Caleb Williams during the commercial break and Rich Eisen pointed it out when they returned, feels like the universe telling us something. ok that is it unleash the thumbsdown emoji's. Yes you have to watch the video on youtube's site but here is the link.

NFL Combine Thread: 1 (PK, DL & LB's)
MikePJ76 replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
He had a full offseason breakdown last week, it was excellent. He had the bills resigning Douglas and drafting a corner! Here is the post I made the other day highlighting the main points. Bills mock offseason: Free agents, draft plans, and trade markets https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6149415/2025/02/21/bills-2025-mock-offseason-free-agent/ I don't want to give the whole thing away but he has a great plan for the offseason. I will just highlight the big things. I will say I wouldn't even pick up the phone and call hollywood brown let alone 2 years for 18 million. Bills cap space to begin the exercise: -$10.13 million The NFL informed teams that the 2025 salary cap would fall between $277.5 and $281.5 million, so for this exercise, we split the difference and put it at $279.5 million. The -$10.13 million hole is far smaller than what the Bills had to deal with last offseason before cutting all their big-name veterans to clear cap space. on von miller - resigned In this case, I had Miller taking a $10 million pay cut — meaning $10 million in cap savings. It would guarantee him over $7 million this season Restructures to Josh Allen, Dion Dawkins and Ed Oliver Release Sam Martin and trade Elam. he has the team resigning Douglas, Hollins, Ty Johnson, Reggie Gilliam, Ferguson and Quinton Morris Trade for Myles Garrett trade details Buffalo receives: DE Myles Garrett, 2026 5th round, 2027 7th round Cleveland receives: No. 30, 2026 1st round, 2027 4th round, DE A.J. Epenesa Free agent signings Hollywood Brown, Derek Barnett Then this is his mock for the rest of the draft. The pick at No. 56: CB Darien Porter, Iowa State The pick at No. 62: DT Jordan Phillips, Maryland The pick at No. 107: LB Chris Paul Jr., Ole Miss The pick at No. 130: EDGE Oluwafemi Oladejo, UCLA Trade! Bills receive Nos. 132 and 245 from Lions for Nos. 170 and 176. The pick at No. 132: S Billy Bowman Jr., Oklahoma The pick at No. 173: G Connor Colby, Iowa The pick at No. 203: WR Ricky White III, UNLV The pick at No. 205: QB Kurtis Rourke, Indiana The pick at No. 245: P Jeremy Crawshaw, Florida New Bills depth chart
