  1. In a related story, Adam Schefter is the first member of the national media to actually watch JP Losman play this season.
  2. How many sports stations nationwide have you listened to? I've listened to guys in Austin and San Antonio the past few years and they're WAY worse than anything bad you hear on WGR. Although, having every personality on WGR tow the company line about the new Sabres (ugly) uniforms makes me doubt their credibility. Mike Schoop spent about an hour today trying to convince me that the new Sabres logo has a hidden sabre on the left side and a hidden B on the right side. And people who don't like it hate logos that "make you think." Then he added that he doesn't mean to be condenscending, which is the same thing as saying "Yes, I am being condescending." The reacharounds they've been giving Larry Quinn all summer are embarassing.
  3. Bottom line is you have to draft when it's your turn. I don't see how Whitner is somehow a dumb pick at 8th overall but a brilliant pick at 15th overall. If the Bills had selected all the same players either two picks earlier or two picks later, the quality of the draft doesn't change. The got the player they wanted and he's playing great so far! Draft day should be all about getting the players you want, not hoarding draft picks. If the Bills draft nine players in seven rounds and none of them turns out that great, then it's a crappy draft. Yes, it would be nice to trade down, pick up another draft pick, and still get all the players on your shopping list (and an extra one) but it's not easy to find another team willing to trade or knowing which teams like the same players you do and will grab your player while you're waiting for your trade-down pick to arrive.
  4. But they tested well in focus groups!!!!!! Sabres wear the old blue and gold 15 times this year. Pretty much the only time they won't look like a bunch of douche bags.
  5. Exactly, quality over quantity. I'd rather the Bills have 5 or 6 guys they really want than 7 or 8 guys they think might be OK. These draft gurus are wrong as often as they're right. And when they are wrong, they always have an excuse. Players who were a "reach" that pan out either could have been taken later or teams could have traded down. Players that bust were ranked high based on the information at the time.
  6. We're already well on our way to that. Whitner and Simpson are both starting. McCargo and Kyle Williams are seeing the field a lot. Ellison has played most of the first two games and looked OK. What happens if Youboty makes an impact?
  7. WGR gives us two hours of him a day. So if I'm listening to Howard Simon and Jeremy White in the morning, their show ends at 10am. Then, if I don't get to the radio fast enough, I always end up catching the first few minutes of the Cowherd show. I can listen to almost anything in the background when I'm working but Cowherd can't make it five minutes before I change the channel or turn the radio off. He's that bad. At least once a week I inadvertantly end up catching a few minutes of his show and it's always terrible.
  8. No one considered the Dolphins "crappy" until we rolled into their stadium and made them our collective B word. Cowherd was exposed earlier this year. He stole material from a University of Michigan website and read it verbatim on his program (it was a bunch of jokes about Vince Young's wonderlic). After the website people complained, he told them to shut up and stop whining. And then when ESPN found out what happened they made him apologize. Cowherd is brainless, unoriginal, and not funny. He thinks he's funny, and he thinks he's doing a great job, but that only makes him come off 100x worse.
  9. The Barbary pirates would take Christian slaves but essentially set them free if they agreed to convert to Islam. I guess that could be an example as well.
  10. Yes, obviously. The Crusades were Christian wars against Muslims that were so bad that, in response, the Muslims had to go and invent Islam. This is similar to the episode of Seinfeld where Kramer describes going to return some pants, falling in mud, and ruining the very pants he was trying to return.
  11. That's BS and you know it. The problem isn't that there *are* Muslims, but that there are a significant number of Muslims who openly claim the world needs to recognize that Islam is the one true religion. And they're so secure in this belief that any criticism of Islam (even if it isn't criticism but, say, a question or a cartoon about it) is met with riots and violence. I mean, they shot a nun in the back and killed her because of what they thought the Pope said. People died because of cartoons a few months ago. WTF?
  12. I googled his name and got his Sabres email. I'm planning on emailing him and seeing if he responds. I'll post everything here.
  13. We're not taking any chances with kneeling. We're punting on first down when we get the ball. And there's no way in hell we're going to try to catch it when they kick off or punt to us. Just let the ball land and hope to God no one gets hurt.
  14. Here is the key portion of the Buffalo News article yesterday: "Say, that old logo is iconic. Let's replace it with some stupid POS." Frank Cravotta is the Sabres director of creative services. How did he get that job? This retard (somehow) recognizes that the old logo was obviously iconic and the first thing he decides to do - because it was easier - is scrap the thing and create a piece of sh-- that looks nothing like it. Frank Cravotta says: 1. Iconic logos are bad. 2. Do things the easy way. I'd like to punch this !@#$ in the face. Thanks a ton, Frank.
  15. The Jets are on their way to building a dynasty. And apparently so is every other team in the NFL..... A DYNASTY??
  16. That one or the LA one with the halo on top. They really need to do a throwback series with the hats with the silver halos stitched into the top. (BTW, the Angels are the source of my username around these parts. When I signed up I wasn't feeling too creative so I borrowed my name from an Angels board.) In any event, I still can't imagine even one uniform that would look better with the sluggalo than with the original logo.
  17. Also not an over-reaction. Protesting and threatening people going to Catholic mass. Link with pictures. Maybe Religion of Peace should be changed to Religion of Perpetually Angry, Sometimes Violent, Cry-Babies .
  18. No turnovers!! He's making a lot of smart plays that don't show up in fantasy football. Let him keep playing smart and his big statistical games will come eventually. And this crap about the players not trusting him is basically just leftover nonsense from last season that ESPN's "experts" regurgitate because they didn't do any homework on the Bills going into the season since they thought they'd be horrible and in the Brady Quinn sweepstakes.
  19. They just needed a non-Donahoe coach to help them succeed.
  20. Obviously they didn't want to "reach" for them and offend the Almighty Kiper God.
  21. I noticed that too! The KO return right after we went up 16-0 where he ran it to around the 35. That was really blatant.
  22. Because he isn't playing the Bills.
  23. I'm not 100% sure it wasn't a fumble. It probably wasn't but there was no camera angle that showed if the ball was getting loose before his back hit the ground. I was hoping maybe the ref who was right there saw something I didn't. The replays definitely made it look like he was down.
  24. Shame on me. I forgot to mention Ellison. He's been holding his own, especially today. Ellison, Whitner, and Simpson, with McCargo and Williams....I'm overwhelmed by these guys so far.
