Greg Cosell - “I don’t think they have a number 1 WR”
Gregg replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Diggs is 30 now and will be 31 next season. That's not old but if his subpar 2nd half of the season wasn't injury related then his decline will probably continue as he gets older.- 169 replies

If that happens then that will extend the number of years the Bills never get past KC in a big spot.
-
McDermott would **** his pants if Bill was his DC. No way Sean would hire him since he is way better at being a HC/DC. Not to mention he wouldn't be able to control him.
-
The Bills definitely need to hit a HR in the draft in getting Allen another weapon in the WR corps. As for the Chiefs game the Bills were trying to protect their injury riddled defense by playing ball control and keep Mahomes off the field as much as possible. Similar to what the Giants did in the Super Bowl vs the Bills and it almost worked.
-
I would add the INT at the goal line that preserved their Super Bowl win over the Seahawks. They should have given the ball to Lynch instead of throwing the ball, but Bill's defense made the play to win the game as another great moment in Bill's history.
-
As a previous poster mentioned if things don't work out for Daboll I could definitely see Bill going back to the Giants. He has history there as a DC. He liked coaching in NJ with the Giants.
-
What I want and what will happen are two different things. I would love for Bill to coach the Bills but that's not happening right now. If the Bills have another playoff disappointment next year and Bill is still available, then maybe for the 2025 season.
-
The Bills aren't firing McDermott so he's definitely not coming here.
-
He is a terrible GM and shouldn't have control in that regard. That's the main reason the Pats are where they are. Also going from Brady to Jones is a huge drop-off at the most important position. No coach could overcome that. He is still an excellent coach. I have no doubt he would win a Super Bowl with the Bills having Allen as his QB.
-
I don't want the Ravens to win either. I want them to win this week but not the Super Bowl. Then we will have to hear how LJ is a much better QB than Allen because he has a Super Bowl championship. I will be rooting for the 49ers or Lions in the Super Bowl.
-
The Ravens beat the Lions 38-6 and beat the Niners 33-19 this year. They get by KC then they will be the favorites to win it all.
-
Hopefully Allen can clean up the turnovers some, but I think at best he will always be in that 10-15 range for INT's every year. Josh has that Brett Favre quality in him in that he has a gunslinger's mentality that he will take chances. It's a big reason why Josh makes so many great plays along with how athletic he is but that same style will also lead to turnovers from time to time.

Bills Last Great Defensive Lineman
Gregg replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bruce is the best defensive player the Bills ever had. OJ is the best offensive player the Bills ever had. Josh will probably replace OJ for best offensive player in Bills history, but I am not counting him yet as his career is still going. I am only picking retired players in Bills history. -
Falcons hire Rams DC Raheem Morris as head coach
Gregg replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
He will win with Herbert though. On paper the Chargers should have been able to challenge the Chiefs. But as we know on paper means nothing. Let's see if Harbaugh can get the Chargers to reach their potential on the field. If he can then the Chiefs will have a big challenge in the AFCW. -

Mario Williams for me. But all of them fall well short of the gold standard in Bills land....#78. -
Looks like Michigan will promote OC Sherrone Moore to HC. He was the one who was interim HC when Harbaugh was suspended a few games. https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=52f5738f78d1efd0JmltdHM9MTcwNjIyNzIwMCZpZ3VpZD0zOTQzMmYxOC04MGQzLTY5ZDItMjk5My0zZGRhODE1ZjY4NDEmaW5zaWQ9NTQ4Mw&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=3&fclid=39432f18-80d3-69d2-2993-3dda815f6841&psq=MICHIGAN+NEXT+HEAD+COACH'&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cubXNuLmNvbS9lbi11cy9zcG9ydHMvb3RoZXIvc2hlcnJvbmUtbW9vcmUtZXhwZWN0ZWQtdG8tYmUtbmFtZWQtbWljaGlnYW5zLW5leHQtaGVhZC1jb2FjaC9hci1CQjFoZnp2Qg&ntb=1

Who are your top 10 QBs in the league
Gregg replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you are taking age and performance into account, then I would have Stroud higher. Look at what he did as a rookie this past year. I think the Texans hit a grand slam with him. They are set at QB for the next 15 or so years. I wouldn't be surprised if Stroud develops into one of the top 2 or 3 QB's in the game going forward. -
You, me or any other fan would have no way of knowing if Beane and McDermott are joined at the hip. Terry is the only one who can answer that. A similar situation is when the Jets hired Gase who then recommended JD for the GM job. Similar to how McDermott and Beane were hired. Were Gase and JD joined at the hip. Gase got canned a few years ago while JD remains the GM. If Beane stays, then he would be leading the search for the next HC if they move on from McDermott. Again, fans have no way of knowing if Terry would clean house or just replace one of them. Fans can only speculate or give their opinion but as we know that means nothing. Only Terry's opinion counts.

For all of you supposed Bills fans who desperately want to keep McDermott as the HC of the Buffalo Bills. Let me remind you. 1. SEVEN YEARS. He has had SEVEN YEARS with one best QB's in the league and has had numerous playoff failures. So maybe a new voice is needed to lead this team. 2. Why does everyone think a change from McDermott to another coach would automatically be bad. It actually might be good and just what is needed to get this team over the top. McDermott is a good coach, but he is not a legendary coach like Belichick, Carroll, Saban. 3. Unless Beane also gets canned I would expect he and not Terry would be leading the search for the next HC. So, while Terry would have to approve of the hire, I would expect he would go off of Beane's recommendation. If fans want to keep McDermott and keep winning the AFCE and losing in the divisional round, then I am happy for all of you. Some of us want the Bills to win a Super Bowl. After SEVEN YEARS it is fair to question if McDermott can get them there. If it were my call, then Bill Belichick would be the HC of the Bills in 2024. His record with an elite level franchise QB speaks for itself. Although he cannot be the GM. That is Beane's job.

Got 8 wins out of a Tyrod Taylor led Bills team to the play with a little help from the Bengals. That team had no business winning 4 games much less 8. Since then, he has been a very good regular season coach which is good, but the playoff failures suggest a new voice is needed to lead this team if they ever want to get to and win a Super Bowl with Allen as the QB.

Falcons hire Rams DC Raheem Morris as head coach
Gregg replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Bill wanting full control is what's hurting him. Everybody knows he is a great HC but as a GM not so much.
