Engram being out with a hammy is good news for our backup LBs who are starting. -
9/23/24 GAMEDAY Bills vs Jaguars MNF PREGAME THREAD
Nephilim17 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Should be a good test of our much maligned WR separation ability. -
35-year-old Kelce finally looks like a shadow of his greatness.

I haven't watched the Eagles in a while. Hurts doesn't look special to me. Bad game or has he settled into being a decent but non-elite QB?

Does anybody else prefer to watch Bills games alone?
Nephilim17 replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's better to watch the game alone and follow the comments here in terms of analyzing the game. It's good to watch with friends who are casual fans when we're winning and everyone's drunk. -
I wouldn't say the Bills should be "predictable" to continue to win but maybe "boring" is the more apt word. Shorter plays and a healthy run game and just a handful of deeper shots a game.

!@#$ the Chiefs. I hate them. I hate Mahomes and Kelce and their fans. I hate their success. I hate their records. I hate their dynasty. I hate the calls they get. I hate how Josh is always seen as inferior to Mahomes. I hate knowing they're always in one-score game even with just seconds left in a half or game. !@#$ the Chiefs. Everyone else is at best a temporary nuisance.

On D, let's go with Douglas with great coverage and at least one pick. -
Bills now have the 6th youngest starting lineup in the NFL...

Starters on O line: LT Dawksin: 30 LG Edwards 27 C McGovern 26 LG Torrence 24 RT Brown 26 THat's pretty young. Swapping Morse for McG helped lower the age Skill starters of offense: WR Hollins 31 (Coleman in the wings: 21) TE Kincaid 24 QB Allen 28 RB Cook 24 WR Shakir 24 WR Samuel 28 With Coleman possibly officially starting this year and likely no later than 2025 I don't see how you can't say this is a very young offense. Starters on D line: Edge Epenesa 26 DT Oliver 26 DT Jones 32 Edge Rousseau 24 LB WLB Williams 23 (Milano 30) MLB Bernard 25 Backfield NCB Johnson 28 CB Douglas 30 (Elam is 23) CB Benford 23 S Rapp 26 S Hamlin 26 (Bishop, likely starter by 2025 is 21) Aside from Jones and Milano and Douglas this is a young group. I figure Milano might start another year before Williams steps in and he's very young; Douglas might be gone in a year and Elam might step in or we draft another CB and Bishop will make the safeties even younger. So I don't see any concern about an aging defense. ST Person trying to kick field goals: Bass 27 P: Martin 34 On ST, the two main guys are aging and we may need to replace both, for age and incompetence, very soon. But takes low-value draft capital. Overall, I think we have a pretty youthful team that should be good for years. Maybe concerns about one CB position and if Coleman doesn't pan out we'll need another high pick at WR and another DT. Very manageable, IMHO. -
Why not trade for a dependable kicker?
Nephilim17 replied to Kingston Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Bass starts costing us games before game 10, I don't see why Beane wouldn't consider trading for a kicker. I'm not saying give up a high pick, but if a team is out of it by the mid-way point of the season, maybe a 5th for a good kicker, I'd do that. We can't make a playoff run with a kicker who isn't dependable between for kicks up to the low 50s. And to answer the question why a team would trade a good kicker; if they're out of the playoffs and maybe tanking for picks, I don't see why they wouldn't. -
Sounds like a ton but keep in mind it's extension money... the big dollars don't kick in till 2026, in 2 seasons so who knows where the market will be then. LIkely overpay a bit for cap flexibility for two years. And maybe the regime thinks he can kick to the left down the road. Just a wild guess.

Bills are winning the battle in the trenches
Nephilim17 replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall
After years of wanting this, it's good to see on both sides. Also good to see KC is 19th in PP with consistent grades from all 3 sources. Still early, but good to see. -
Bills now have the 6th youngest starting lineup in the NFL...
Nephilim17 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Note that the OP got this from a Buff News article, so they are responsible for the analysis about 6th youngest starting age. https://buffalonews.com/sports/professional/nfl/bills/buffalo-bills-sixth-youngest-starting-lineup-nfl-rosters/article_36633e22-7450-11ef-895f-c72fe8a8adbf.html "The Bills’ starting lineup ranks as the sixth youngest in the league, based on opening day rosters, according to an analysis by The Buffalo News. Last season, the Bills fielded the 11th-oldest starting lineup. Rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman, seen walking off the field Sept. 8 after Buffalo’s season-opening win over Arizona, is the youngest Bills player at just 21. Joshua Bessex, Buffalo News It’s no surprise, given the Bills shed five over-30 starters – receiver Stefon Diggs, center Mitch Morse, defensive end Leonard Floyd and safeties Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer – after last season. Cornerback Tre’Davious White, who turns 30 in January, was also let go. The average age of the Bills’ starters is 26.48 years, youngest in the AFC East and under the league average of 27.21 years. Overall, the Bills’ roster still is on the older side of the league, ranking 11th oldest, with an average age of 26.86, according to News figures. At the start of the 2023 season, the Bills had the fourth-oldest 53-man roster in the league." -
Jalen Raegor cut from Pats practice squad after social media posts

Not very smart but I've seen a lot worse in social posts from lunkhead players. -
Didn't see the game as I was out of town with no TV but just read this: Travis Kelce has just 39 receiving yards in 2024, the fewest in any two-game span in his NFL career. That's heartening. Makes me sick to read that penalties (among other things) help the Chiefs yet again but Kelce has to be declining from his prime and being an unstoppable force, right? The bast*** turns 35 in early October so he has to be. I hope. 😳

Possibly. I think it may hurt us a bit in the short term (regular-season wins this year). But there are long-term gains to be had: I think it has enabled Josh to take the reins of leadership (he was second in command when Diggs was here) and also help him to go through his reads rather than key in on one guy primarily. Any QB will get better when they don't have a security blanket to look to first. Given that Diggs did SFA in the playoffs I won't miss him.

Just watched a bit of the second video but this Miami doctor serves up a sober warning and says that life is more important than football and you can replace your knee but you can't replace your brain. Listen to it. The bit I referenced starts close to 7 minutes in...

Week 2 - Bills at Fins - Post game thread
Nephilim17 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
is the 4-6 weeks out for Bernard news speculation or an official statement? if he's gone just 4 weeks I'll be happy. Great win but as others have said, we have a kicker problem. -

That shirtless Bills fan is Beane's good-for-nothing beer-swilling sun-tanning brother.
