McDermott will never change his defensive scheme. It hasn't changed in 8 years. No matter how many times his defense fails in the playoffs vs KC. There in lies the problem. That's why he needs to go.

I agree with you 100% but i really don't think any changes happen unless Allen himself starts complaining and the chances of that are slim. Unfortunately Allen will have to win it all in spite of the Coach and GM. It would be a tragedy since I will never see another QB of Josh's caliber in my lifetime.

The only way he gets fired is if Allen himself says something. The likelihood of that happened is nil.

I think it is a combination of bad coaching along with bad players. This secondary is brutally bad. Rapp looks like he is afraid to hit anyone due to his concussion history. I watched him on a play where Kamara received a pitch out to the right and he was running up to make the play and instead of angling in towards the runner he engaged his blocker. It looked like he could have easily got around the blocker chose to engage the blocker. There is something very wrong with Rapp. Tre has lost a step or 2. Benford has regressed a bit. He is giving up tds like they are Halloween candy. Bishop is decent but not great. They need a full fundamental change in defensive coaching philosophy with the players they have. Whatever they are trying to do it isn't working. I don't think the suspended players make much of a difference, in my opinion. We need to overhaul this defense in the off season.

Agree with your take. A little bit of imagination with this offense would be great. If You have a unicorn in Allen, you could be more versatile with your play calling and a lot less predictable.

Unfortunately these situations define quarterbacks. He absolutely deserved the 13 second game. I’ll give him that one. However, the last 2 years have been where he needed to step up and be Superman on the final drive. He has done it many times in the past but when the season and Super Bowl was on the line he didn’t come through. Will that be his legacy ? I hope not but I know Brady or Brees or Mahommes would have scored in those situations. He still has a lot of great years ahead of him but he has to finish in those situations. No excuses.

I can appreciate what you are saying. We are blessed to get to watch 17 play and lead our team every Sunday. The fact remains he had a chance this year and last year to beat Mahommes on the final drive by scoring a TD and putting away his nemesis. He failed both times and didn’t even get the 3 points that would of tied the game. The great quarterbacks in the past get it done in those situations he did not. To me he choked

Same scenario last year. Final minutes down by 3 all he had to do was get a td and he beats Mahommes. He choked then and he choked this year. He is a great QB but definitely not clutch like Mahommes
