I am now a fan of Rex Ryan and...
dollars 2 donuts replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He should get something, but man, as many have stated on this board, I am baffled at the money dolled out to DBs in this league. -
More than once, you guys, I have commented on what I thought, and still think, of Wade as a head coach. Should he still be HC of the Bills. No. However, after 8 season as an NFL head coach, you don't have just one losing season, one .500 season, two division titles, 5 playoff appearances and playoff appearances with 3 different teams by being just an ordinary coach. I honestly think the Cowboys have a shot this year, but forgive me for digressing from the thread topic.
-
OK, so I am going to hijack my thread here a little bit and I have brought this up before; can you guys envision the possibility that this team could have a worse record than last year, lets say 5-11, but you are more satisfied with their direction based upon the coaching and what you see on the field?
-
Color me surprised as much as everyone else. Yeah, I was one of those who thought he had an outside chance of making this team.
-
WEO, honestly I did debate that, but I would call it just a generally conglomeration of the seeming fact based upon my observation that over the last few months the normally bi**** members of TSW (myself included) generally have had little if nothing really bad to say about Gailey. Which is a nice change from the previous regime. Additionally, as I sort of stated, this isn't a final grade, this is just so far. EDIT: Problems sleeping? I just got married, so in a way, yeaaahhhhhh.

Easley's condition might be season ending
dollars 2 donuts replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK, Jerry, not being a word maven here, the one thing I want to say is I really, really, really, really, REALLY, was hoping to see what this kid could do this year and I truly hope it is not season ending injury. Fingers crossed for Easley. -
I've Heard This Tune Before
dollars 2 donuts replied to BillsPhan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A vote of confidence to a unit and staff that probably badly needs it. The most basic executive training techniques tells you to encourage your staff and compliment them when you think they are doing a good job. I see nothing wrong with this. Don't get me wrong, i am not about to start calling Gailey "Uncle Cuddles", however, I still think it is an appreciated move on his part to his staff...that he believes in them, is with them and will stand by them. -
I mean keeping in mind everything that was said previously with coaching choices for this team (which by the grace of everything holy we won't rehash here ), it generally seems most everyone on TSW kinda likes the guy. Yes, no games, even preseason, have been played as of yet, but his general demeanor, the way he runs camp, the way he runs fitness training, the coaches he has brought in, the plans he has in place have really, REALLY just been met with general approval by the masses. I know I am stating the obvious with respect to the above, however, I really didn't even start to dwell on it until this morning and when you get right down to it what it means to me is I really like the direction of the leadership of this team. Sure, we will curse him the first time he throws the ball on 4th and 1, and for not pulling out the red flag when we think he should. ...but I like this guy and I like what he is doing with this team. That's it, nothing more. Go Bills.

Man, I approve of this thread, even more than the other one. I mean I really, really do.

You left something very important out, PH, which I think is going to play a big factor with the defenses we go up against this year; his speed is going to scare the p*** out of them. No, no, they are obviously not worried that Spiller is going to be rammed down their throat, but they will be worried about this kids speed to the outside and how the cover him, whether running, or just going out on routes.

FAITH Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, (and) the evidence of things unseen." ...and the eternal wish that, this time, God smiles upon children, puppy dogs and cities named Buffalo.

Trent's habit for staring down receivers
dollars 2 donuts replied to The_Philster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kudos to Philster on a great post and I'll back Rob up on his comments above. Come on guys, it is tough enough for us just being Bills fans, can we just go easy on each other? If you want to make a comment about someone else's writing style can't you be a little more constructive like, "I had a difficult time following your comments, but you made some great points." Philster, you really hit upon what I think is going to be the biggest hurdle for Edwards to overcome whether he is the starter this year, or not. Additionally, even if he looks OK right now is his new found skill going to unravel once he faces a pass rush that's really looking to get after him? I've speculated earlier that the Bills are a 5-11 team this year, but still a better team than last year's 6-10. That being said if you could guarantee to me that Trent's "lock-on" rehab is going to be surefire successful this year I honestly would flirt with the idea of a 7-9 or 8-8 season. ...that's how important I think it is. -
Brandon Spikes

Yes, this is just what I was thinking before I even scanned down to see your post, John. It is very much this and you can't worry about it. -
Are You Pulling For T.O. ???
dollars 2 donuts replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. I am not a T.O. fan, but I don't dislike him, either. The guy caught 55 passes last year on a horrible Bills team with lousy quarterbacks. No way he catches less. I think he should be good for 65 grabs, almost 1,000 yards and at least 6 TDs on the bengals. Given the guy they have on the other side, that is going to be pretty complimentary numbers (ocho probably pulls 75-80 this year). -
Yes, but I used to think that about Mike Williams, and that he would have a similar affect on the Bills offensive line.

Bill cowher's wife pass away at 54
dollars 2 donuts replied to clearwater cadet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ya know, I'm not sure if Bill was going to comeback to coaching, but you hit that stage in your life where your kids are grown and happy, you have been successful and you just want to relax, like the Cowher's did in eventually moving back to NC and Bill saying I'm done for awhile. These are supposed to be the happy times...54 years old. God Bless the Cowher family and all those families whose lives have felt the full effect of this disease. -
Blue throwbacks will be worn twice
dollars 2 donuts replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just speculating here, but I believe you won't see the Bills play in the white throwbacks again. I believe they were to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the AFL/AFC and were just for last year. I think that, other than anniversaries like we saw last year, each team is only allowed three versions of jerseys. - yeah, sorry, just read the article and my comments above are the case with the white jerseys. -
AND it could have been worse, I could have said "insulin" tone. Cutting to the chase of this thread, though, of course i want the Bills to stay, but this is a catch 22, or for those of us that have seen Swingers "there's the rub in the fact that do you build a 9 figure stadium: That burdens the tax payers during hard times, or not build it, and give the new owner a damn good reason to move the team, above beyond the debt that he'll now have in paying on the financing of his purchase. Bagel speculated earlier that any purchase of the Bills, other than by a multi-billionaire, would involve 2/3 debt coverage. In other words, if someone is buying this team they are going to be getting about 500-600 million from someplace other than their own piggy bank. WARNING: I AM NO BANKING EXPERT, BUT I AM GOING TO UNBELIEVABLY SIMPLIFY THIS SO BEFORE THOSE REALLY IN THE KNOW JUMP ALL OVER ME PLEASE KNOW I AM JUST TRYING TO KEEP SIMPLE...MY FIGURES COULD BE OFF, BUT I AM JUST MAKING IT EASY TO UNDERSTAND FOR A DEAL OF THIS SIZE...THAT BEING SAID $550,000,000 at 3% over 15 years means a debt payment of about 45.5 million dollars a year. If the gross figures this team comes in with is about 200 million dollars (I have no back-up, just based upon memory from recent articles and discussion, feel free to correct me) then 45.5 million is big chunk the new owner is paying. To potentially say to that new owner, "Hey, now that you bought the team why don't you help spring for a new stadium in an economically depressed area where you can make only so much.", is a little bit of a stretch. I believe if the new owner pays for half of a new $350 million stadium throw another 15 million a year onto my figure above.

thx, moby, i knew there was a good chance i had spelled it wrong but i was in hurry. You know, running for Lord and Master.
-
Really? You'd talk back to your Lord and Master in such an insulate tone?
-
I truly believe the easier thing to do would be, by any means possible, to make me Lord King and Master over all the lands of North America. At which point in time I will appoint an NFL Czar, for the sake of argument right now, lets just say it will be PTR with StuckinCincy as his #2, the end result of any of their meetings will be that: A) The Bills will never be allowed to leave Buffalo; and B) A brand new doomed stadium (a special "domed" stadium with a sense of foreboding whenever you enter) made of the finest metal known to man: metal, will be constructed in downtown Buffalo and will be named after the restaurant with the finest wings in Buffalo...to be decided by me at some later date; and C) The salary cap will still be in place, with a slight adjustment known as the "Buffalo Bills Tax"; each team gives the Bills 10 million dollars and our cap figure goes up by equal proportion. ...after the above I promise to do something about the debt.

More importantly, have I mentioned to you that you have one of the greatest avatar's of all time?
