  1. Will the game be played in Missouri or Kansas?
  2. I know what you're saying. That was yesterday... did I miss something? What's the significance of the date?
  3. "Evidently, jmo?" 😃 It would be interesting to see how Josh would do throwing to Chase and Higgins. Another reason Josh is at a different level is durability. In 7 seasons, Josh has played in 111 of 117 regular season games... nearly 95% of all games. The only games he missed were in his rookie season. In 5 seasons Burrow has played in 69 of 82 regular season games... only 84% of all games.
  4. Regarding Restrepo running an historically embarrassing 40 time at his Pro Day: The event was held at Carol Soffer Indoor Practice Facility, where the Canes often practice. In the weeks leading up to the pro day did he practice his 40s there? If not, why not? If so what were his times? If his times were even in the 4.7s and/or 4.8s, why was he even allowed to run? The decision to run cost him millions of dollars. Who on his team was supposed to looking out for this young man?
  5. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Stevens_(safety) Drafted by the Bills in the 3rd round 8 year NFL career played for 5 teams 42 games started won a Super Bowl with New England in 2001 last played for Houston in 2003 paralyzed from the waist down in a motorcycle accident in 2007 by 2011 had regained the ability to move through the use of special leg brace support From archives: "Former Houston Texans safety Matt Stevens remains bound to a wheelchair after a motorcycle accident three years ago where he broke his spinal cord. He is paralyzed from below his torso, and doctors have told Stevens he'll never walk again. "I can move my arms, my chest, my upper back and my head and that's it," Stevens told the Texans' official Web site. "So there's no chance of me walking, feeling, moving again, unless science comes up with some major new breakthrough. .. "I have a girl who loves me and I have two kids. The reason I subconsciously made it through the accident when I was in a coma is due to my kids." Stevens said he maintains a positive attitude despite the challenges he faces. "It's very hard for me to get around," he said. "I can drive with hand controls. I have basically, on average, two doctors appointments per week, and they assess my progress. Whatever I can do, I'm trying to do at the gym just to try to keep my strength up." Per the report, Stevens remains in touch with several NFL players, including Mike Vrabel, Larry Izzo and Brian Dawkins. "I talked to Seth (Payne) not too long ago," Stevens said. "Actually, Jamie Sharper visited me in the hospital when I was there. Troy Evans, Aaron Glenn, Jason Bell, Marcus Coleman - I've talked to all of them. They all try to give me the positive attitude to keep your lip up when it's kind of hard to keep your lip up when you can't do anything. It's just a day-by-day fight. It's what it is."
  6. My parents forbid me from wrestling, due to not being that big of a person plus the likelihood of having to cut weight. I did dabble in boxing after high school (Singer's Gym) and it was eye opening. Three minutes is an eternity in a boxing ring. Rachel Bush? I think ole Hunter was talking about things other than athletics.
  7. "The oldest athlete to participate on a Division I (D1) sports team is believed to be Joe Thomas Sr., who played running back for South Carolina State in 2016 at the age of 55." https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=who+was+the+oldest+athlete+to+participate+on+a+D1+sports+team&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
  8. Yes... easy queasy.
  9. I poked around a bit. It's an adjective so yes, it's a word. That said I can't find a direct dictionary entry for it... it's derivative of the noun perineum. I stand corrected.
  10. I think the Steveson failure raises the question whether someone who is 5'11" and 266 pounds can actually play defensive tackle in the NFL.
  11. The word is perineum.
  12. I don't understand the surprise about Steveson's return to college athletics. 1) He competed in a different sport as a professional 2) Olympic athletes (who are assuredly professional) can return to compete in college sports 3) Many college athletes (via NIL) are now professional athletes. On a different subject, Steveson played for the Bills at 5'11" and 266 lbs. He was often listed at 6'1" as a wrestler but the tape measure shows otherwise. Not that it's the end all by any means but Hendrickson looked taller, longer, and heavier. And it probably didn't help that Steveson had taken time off from wrestling either.
  13. Autocorrect doesn't makeup non-existent words.
  14. Incorrect. Von didn't disappear, he was "disappeared." Von only played 16 snaps... by far the least of our edge players (Rousseau played 51 snaps, Epenesa 46, and Smoot 20). When Von was brought in by the Bills (less than 2 months after 13 seconds) it was clearly stated that it was because they needed to put more pressure on Mahomes. Von could have easily redeemed the Bills acquisition of him with one single timely sack but incredibly, by gluing him to the bench, McDermott/Babich didn't give Von a real opportunity to make that one play which would have justified his entire 3 year Bills career. Coaching malpractice.
  15. Yes, and he's only played 17 games in the last 2 year. While 28 is not generally considered old, Alexander will be entering his 8th season so his odometer is a bit higher than most players his age. Personally, I pass.
  16. Agree with both of you. An epic shyt performance. And all that excuse making about film study and wrinkles by the Chiefs? It's really simple... if they're not running to your side, just don't lose contain. Injury wouldn't be a legit excuse anyways... his failings were mental. Yes, it's not a matter of whether to sign or not to sign... the Bills have to be disciplined with their valuation on Rousseau. They can't make the decision to extend him simply to justify the fact that they drafted him. I really appreciate your framing of this topic and subsequent points but no one here knows whether 2024 was Rousseau's ceiling year and there's a chance that it was. I don't think you can simply assume that he's going to be a better player in 2025. I hope so but hope isn't a good basis for making decisions. And there were at least 5 plays where Rousseau egregiously lost contain. The margin of victory was 3 points... I tend to agree. I'm not convinced that 2024 wasn't his ceiling. Agree. I don't extend him. Let him play out his contract and hope that you have a tough decision to make at season's end.
  17. Thank you. Offensive players don't report until Friday and afterwards. https://fansided.com/nfl-combine-schedule-2025-position-group-dates-workout-times-and-more
  18. The dream for a pair of compensatory 3rd Round picks is over... "The Jaguars announced the following interviews: Packers V.P. of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan; Bears assistant G.M. Ian Cunningham; Rams director of scouting strategy James Gladstone; Jaguars assistant G.M. Ethan Waugh; and 49ers director of scouting and football operations Josh Wiliams." https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jaguars-announce-in-person-interviews-with-five-g-m-candidates
  19. Agreed. The margin of victory in most of the KC games has been slim. As others have said, the loss of Rapp and Benford might have made all the difference in the world. Yes the Bills have to improve on defense but they don't have to be a dominant defense. Agree completely. Still a great player but the praise for Mahomes was over the top and now we're seeing evidence of decline. I agree with this but even though Josh's MVP Award was maybe an overcorrection for previous season's lack of respect, I would still say that Josh doesn't get the acclaim and praise that he deserves. JMO. To the bolded, this has always been the case in the modern era of the NFL, and not just in the playoffs. It's actually the stated reason the Bills acquired Von Miller. To the above 3 posts, I think the criticism of Von Miller is off base. I've spent very little time here since the AFCCG but I've seen very little criticism of Greg Rousseau. IMO Rousseau was terrible. There were at least 5 and more likely 6 plays sprinkled through all 4 quarters where he egregiously lost containment of Mahomes and allowed the Chiefs to convert. It was one of the worst failures of being assignment-sound I can recall seeing from a DE. On another play he was just skated down the field by Kelce, giving half-hearted resistance. I question Rousseau's drive and toughness to be great. When Von was brought in by the Bills it was clearly stated that it was because they needed to put more pressure on Mahomes. Von only played 16 snaps... by far the least of our Edge players (Rousseau played 51 snaps, Epenesa 46, and Smoot 20). Von could have easily redeemed the organization's faith in him with a single timely sack but incredibly, by gluing him to the bench, McDermott/Babich didn't give Von a real opportunity to make that one play which would have justified his entire 3 year Bills career.
  20. Yes, we did. Yup. For those that have a BN subscription: https://buffalonews.com/sports/professional/nfl/bills/buffalo-bills-injuries-starters-2024-season/article_8ab3e656-e968-11ef-a16e-2fc7f6e38a8a.html And for those that don't: "The Bills had the eighth healthiest roster in the league in 2024. That’s according to the number of games lost by starters to injury in an annual study done by The Buffalo News. What else is new? It’s the sixth time in the last eight years during the tenure of head coach Sean McDermott that the Bills have ranked among the top 10 healthiest starting rosters in the league. The Bills never have been in the bottom half of the league in games lost to injury under McDermott. The Bills lost 43 games by starters to injury. The league average in 2024 was 61 games. Baltimore was at the top with just eight games lost by starters all season... In 2023, the Bills were 13th healthiest at 52 games. In 2022, they were tied for 15th. Going from 2021 back, the Bills ranked second, fifth, first, fourth and ninth healthiest." Maybe the credit for the excellent injury record goes to the athletic training staff and the medical staff?
