That's what happened... I thought I saw a banana peel on the field but it didn't show in the replay angle they used. -

Does this also mean that you won't be watching the first halves of the games? Would you be happy if he made 4 moves by 3 pm?

The Jets have even lost the ability to commit a definitively flagrant foul. He'd better go drink more of that water/cayenne mix. -

Yes, there's something about the lifelessness of the crowd which makes this seem like a high school scrimmage. -

On the other hand I've very quickly grown to dislike the Texans... I look forward to beating their asses in a meaningful game. -

To the original question it would be better for the Bills if the Jets won, but I never get tired of watching the Jets implode... especially in front of the home crowd. -
Out of context as was pointed out... but also a sign of desperation possibly. It's gamesmanship and consciously or not, Weaver is attempting to play mind games in hopes of planting a seed of hesitancy in Josh's game. As others have pointed out, it's just as likely to backfire and simply increase Josh's focus and resolve. What about ciabatta? Sorry to sharpshoot you e... it was Generalissimo...

Week 9 - Dolphins at Bills Game Week Thread
Sierra Foothills replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think everyone thinks we'll be fine. The Bills won last week with virtually a minus contribution from Cooper and it seems like McDermott didn't even want him practicing today. The "shift" towards non-concern also has to do with playing a weak opponent at home. It's pretty easy to understand. A large part of why he's salty is because the 4 point favorite Dolphins lost to the visiting Arizona Cardinals. The truth of their situation is obvious to everyone... they're not a good team and he's not suddenly going to change that. @Starr Almighty, the first play Hamlin makes the tackle. The last two plays he's the last line of defense. Seems to me that he's executing his assignments. -
1) To your first point, the hurry up/no huddle McNabb was running in that Super Bowl wasn’t even uptempo. Everyone watching was thinking “ why are they moving so slowly?” McNabb was either in very poor physical condition or he was hyperventilating due to being overcome by anxiety and stress. 2) I’m on my phone so I’m not going to look for the plays preceding Richardson’s tapout but it’s inexcusable, honesty or not. I’ve seen plenty of QBs running for their lives on consecutive plays without tapping out on their team on 3rd down. He doesn’t need to be more honest, he needs to get into better physical condition. I don’t think he ever was but he doesn’t need to be either. He just has to play well enough for his teammates to believe they can win. That belief is the most important thing. Imagine going into a game knowing you’re going to lose because your QB sucks and gives you no chance. His teammates disagree with you. He’s THE QB, not a WR. He’s the leader of the team. His participation if healthy is not optional. Football players are gladiators. You don’t do what he did when you are leading a football team. Regarding your last sentence, that’s irrelevant to the action he took that we’re talking about.

I've watched the NFL for 6 decades. I have never seen a QB tap out. Then you see the reaction by his teammates... the fans... It sure got my attention. I was shocked actually. Pat McAfee was drafted by the Colts. He spent his entire NFL career playing for them. He was All-Pro and a multi-Pro Bowler with them. He has built a broadcasting empire that is based in Indianapolis. He's friends with the owner of the Colts. The Colts players are going to be THRILLED to have Flacco under center. He is a Super Bowl winning quarterback. Last year he signed with the Browns in late November and won them 4 of their last 5 games to get them into the playoffs. He won the Comeback Player of the Year award. He became the first player in NFL history to have 250 passing yards and multiple passing touchdowns in each of his first five games with a team... even though he had signed with them less than 2 weeks earlier. This year with the Colts he's 1-1 and has thrown for 716 yards and 7 TDs vs 1 INT. Flacco will get them in the right protections, will know where to go with the ball, and make good throws. The Colts will believe they have a chance of winning every game with him at QB. His impact will be similar to what you saw with Jameis Winston when the 7.5 point underdog Browns beat the Ravens. Absolutely. This QB change turned the Bills-Colts from an easy win into a tough contest. Do you ever remember a QB deciding he was too tired to play the next down? He could have called a time out or called for a running play. Playing QB is physically, mentally, and symbolically different than playing any position in sports.
