The Battle for Jobs at Safety and Corner.
Sierra Foothills replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Codrington is an excellent return man and the Bills actually traded for him (swap of late picks). The reason he has less value is because he's viewed strictly as a returner and nothing else. -
George Pickens Traded to the Cowboys
Sierra Foothills replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hmmmm... it's possible that Rodgers doesn't want to play with Pickens. For one thing they have to make room for Allen Lazard. It's also possible that the Steelers reached the "Diggs Point" with Pickens. That's as legit a statement in this topic as any. Agreed. If Rodgers decides to flake out, they can still pivot to Kirk Cousins. Not true. If Pickens doesn't get the ball he stops playing. Stops blocking, doesn't chase fumbles... and he also loses composure and takes stupid penalties. That's all actual football. -
Why Landon Jackson is the next MONSTER in the NFL
Sierra Foothills replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's just reelin' in the years. -
I'm not disagreeing with you but in fairness it should be mentioned: This was a 1 minute sampler, not a complete, condensed game. By most accounts, Jackson had a strong game against Campbell. QB was getting the ball out quickly... it looks like half the snaps were 3 steps and throw. I think the tweet is inconclusive at best.

Why Landon Jackson is the next MONSTER in the NFL
Sierra Foothills replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. No one who has watched tape of both players would ever compare the two. It's one of the most bizarre and inaccurate comparisons I can recall. -
I couldn't agree more that networking in any industry is indeed important BUT... it's still funny to me that a 20-something athlete would go down to the bar to make a good impression... seeing as alcohol isn't a performance enhancing drug and all the other possible negative connotations...

Bills Offseason moves to date & Projected Roster
Sierra Foothills replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Do you predict he’ll return for his 7th season? -
UFL football for those undergoing withdrawal
Sierra Foothills replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall
I read this as Binghamton… you can imagine my surprise! -
1) Wasn’t it a compound word of charisma and poise? 2) What an outside the box idea… go to a bar to promote your career as an NFL QB!!! (for some reason I don’t think this would have worked with McBeane).

It would be hard for the Bills not to be at least minimally improved on the D-line if you look at the 2 free agent signings and the 3 draftees. Also going from weakness to strength is CB where the Bills signed Dane and Tre and drafted 3 solid prospects. On the other hand they minimally addressed Safety and totally ignored LB. Still, I expect the Bills D to be substantially improved in 2025.

Why Landon Jackson is the next MONSTER in the NFL
Sierra Foothills replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall
Disagree. If the Bills wanted a run-defending DE they wouldn't have drafted Jackson. They've said they're excited about his pass rush ability and Jackson said he was told by the Bills that he would line up at 9 technique from time to time. As a pass rusher I'm told that Jackson was a force against Alabama and Ole Miss this season as well as at the Senior Bowl (not the drills). As a collegian, Epenesa never looked as explosive as Jackson. AJ would would walk blockers back to the QB but rarely beat them around the edge as Jackson has. I still think to this day that AJ should just be beefed up to 280 and let him play to his strength instead of trying to accentuate his speed. I've also wondered if he was on PEDs during his time at Iowa. -
Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)
Sierra Foothills replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nice summary. -
So a "stop" is either a 3 and out or a turnover.
-
"In NFL football, a defensive stop occurs when the defense prevents the offense from gaining a first down or scoring on a drive. It's a crucial metric for evaluating defensive performance, indicating how effectively a team is limiting the opposing offense's progress."

The reasons golf carts are dangerous: 1) They don't seem dangerous... they seem easy to drive so people underestimate the danger... they let their guard down. 2) They're often associated with alcohol use. 3) They're often being operated by younger people who are not experienced drivers. 4) Because they're 4 wheel vehicles they seem stable but they're a bit top heavy and unstable on hills and slopes. 5) Unless they have good tires, they easily break traction on damp surfaces

Bills 5th Round Pick (#2) : Jackson Hawes - TE - Georgia Tech

Perhaps reprise the deep sideline pass to Patrick DiMarco! -
Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)
Sierra Foothills replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
I believe they told him that they want him to become the best version of himself... also to trust the process... -
Depends on who you compare him to. Take for instance... Speak for yourself... Marquez Valdez-Scantling anyone? He might be the answer... but then what would be the question?

5 People in a golf cart... I know they make 6 seaters too but "falling off the back" makes you wonder if there was a 3rd (rear facing) row or if they were crammed onto a 4 seater.

Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)
Sierra Foothills replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tremaine Edmunds' birthday is May 2nd! Is there a plural of umbrage? Excited too and pretty sure this'll end up better than the Coleman signing. Like many others have said, I really liked Moore coming out of college. I'd wager a fair amount that (barring injury) Moore will be a significant contributor this year. Probably the purple stuff... Yes, Coleman underwent a genetic miniaturizing process with the objective of gaining speed. The procedure was successful. He's now only 6'0" but his 40 time is in the 4.4s. -
Big Badazz Beane on Pat McAfee today
Sierra Foothills replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
While I think you make some valid points, I don't think you're being completely fair. Yes Beane's had his misses as all GMs do but on balance, no one would dispute that he's one of the top 5 GMs in the NFL... no one... so we're lucky to have him. The glass is more than half full. Of coure we're all impatient for that Super Bowl win but that shouldn't obscure from all the great work he has done. Changing the subject, I actually question his recent 2-day media agenda... I'm ambivalent about his defiance and pushback against his perceived detractors... I always liked him better when he was above the fray. It's easy for me to say but you need big shoulders in his position and I don't think stepping out of character and going from affable to angry really works for him. While many here are in favor of Beane lashing out, doing so creates an equal and opposite reaction, which will turn up the heat on him and McDermott... which is fine as long as they realize it. Things are getting warmer in Bills Nation... which they should. That said, I fully support this regime. -
Big Badazz Beane on Pat McAfee today
Sierra Foothills replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
The introduction and discussion of Mahomes in this topic is misplaced and weakens the conversation. The trading of the pick to KC happened BEFORE Beane was the Bills GM. Thank you for the hard work adding up to a great post. Some teams get lucky here and there when drafting wideouts but it's hard to get a difference-maker where the Bills draft. Besides the high miss rate at the position and the Bills constantly-stated philosophy that games are won in the trenches, there haven't been many opportunities for them to pick one where they think he's the BPA and fills the biggest need. This is a really great breakdown. A historical breakdown of recent drafts has shown that the Bills (at best), spend an average amount of resources on defense. A constant narrative in our playoff history is that we suffer numerous end of season/playoff injuries on defense and can't perform well enough to win. The Bills have been thin on defense during the McBeane era and that's why KC's defense has been better than ours... that and Chris Jones. BTW, imagine having a difference-making D-lineman... Yes, the average playoff loss to the Chiefs has been: Chiefs 34.75 Bills 28.25 I actually feel McBeane are feeling the pressure... as they should. They're smart guys and understand the Josh window. More great work and a great post. Thank you. This reinforces the idea that for a team drafting where the Bills draft (late 20s, early 30s) that it's very difficult to draft a difference-making WR unless you move up. The problem is that moving up to that degree doesn't guarantee anything and is costly. Great post... thank you. The Bills allocation to defense has been about average. The team has been afflicted by defensive injuries in the late season/playoffs. Of course I'd love to see a field-stretching WR but I love this draft and am looking forward to being a bully on defense for once. Another great post... thank you. -
Bills 4th Round Pick : Deone Walker - DT - Kentucky
Sierra Foothills replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Besides an excellent 2023 season, Walker had an excellent Senior Bowl week, showing that his back has improved since earlier in the year. -
When a CB is as fast as Hairston is, Darrell Green is one of the first comparables that comes to mind so it's interesting to note that Darrell Green was barely 5'9". It's gotten lost in the 37 pages but it bears mentioning again that Hairston's measurables are almost identical to those of Denzel Ward, who Cleveland took 4th overall in 2018 and has made 4 Pro Bowls.
