Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme
Einstein replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Dolphins averaged the same yards per play we did (5.4 vs 5.5). There is no getting around that. It’s a fact. They also scored more points than our offense. I would say the biggest difference in drives is that the Bills went for 3 fourth downs. Dolphins elected to punt in those situations instead. -
Milano is fantastic. If we could put Milano’s instincts in Edmunds body, he would be a HOF’er.

I don’t agree with this. How many TD’s (in the endzone) do you see a football move happen? How many jukes, etc happen after catching in the endzone? People will say “it’s the time that matters”. Except it’s often not. Watch this clip below. Lamb catches the ball and refs signal TD nearly immediately. THEY ARENT EVEN LOOKING AT HIM ON THE GROUND to see if he dropped it. Just 2 feet were in, TD.

Its 5 years of McD. I had to ignore Royale With Cheese. He is not interested in critical thinking or rational debate. He only wants to mock posters for not agreeing with him. . -
Why? That was during a 15+ play drive near the endzone. The offense was so overheated that there were injury stoppages due to players needing to take a knee on the field. I argue that it would have been the PERFECT time to challenge a call. Worst case scenario you lose the challenge but get an extra long timeout for your tired and overheated offense to rest and get ready for a push into the endzone. Challenging that call would have been strategic and smart. Instead our offense that was having trouble standing up floundered and couldn’t get into the endzone. You should be more upset that he called timeout on a PUNT and another timeout on a random first down closer to midfield the very next drive.

This is an excellent point. The Dolphins had less total yards but that’s because our offense wouldn’t let them get on the field. The Dolphins averaged the same yards per play we did (5.4 vs 5.5). -

Except I didn’t list or mention any of your examples. I listed examples that ARE coaching. It is intellectually dishonest to change the original post to suit your needs. I see your point but I don’t necessarily have a problem with him not blitzing in that situation. My problem was him playing shallow coverage with 10 out of 11 defensive players playing in front of the first down marker. It made it easy for the Dolphins to have not 1, but 2 wide open receivers past the marker. -
I’m rooting for Daboll. Go Giants.

Agreed. I was extremely proud of him in that moment. Knowing that one of our coaches cares that much gives me great joy. I hope McD doesn’t beat that out of him. And it hurt literally no one.

All 7 of those games also had questionable coaching decisions that lead to needing a last minute drive. -
Surprised it’s the ankle and not the knee.

You’re right. I should have done that. -

Jerry is a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian. He is not a critical thinker. I do not align with him. -

Definitely not Tomlin, in my opinion. Now that would be a significant upgrade. -

I find that very odd to read. I read Florio a lot and never picked up on any animosity toward the Bills. His favorite team isn’t even in our conference, and he has had the Bills listed as the best team in the NFL for some time now. -

Why do you feel he has a bias? -

To be fair, it’s a pattern of losing close games. Not just 1 loss. Reid hasn’t lost his last 7 one score games. -

If nothing else, this should show you that non biased people see it the way I do as well. Of course certain fans will see it through their lens as well. -

About half way into the video Mike Florio begins to voice his concern that McDermott may not be the right person to get the Bills over the hump. He compares the situation to John Fox in Denver. Fox was good in Denver. He went 38-10 in his last three seasons. But it took Fox being fired (after a 12-4 season) and Kubiak being hired for the Broncos to land a Lombardi trophy with that loaded roster. https://www.nbcsports.com/video/mike-florio-buffalo-bills-received-rude-awakening-against-miami-dolphins?ls=pftvod -
CB’s play with broken hands quite often. I remember Ward played through a broken hand that needed surgery for an entire season.

Is the Bills approach to injuries too conservative?
Einstein replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s what it ended up being? A broken hand? Definitely an overreaction then. CB’s play through broken hands all the time. I remember Ward played an entire season on his broken hand. Yeah i’m noticing that as well. Its unfortunate because with the mindset they have their mind isn’t open to anything except their own opinions. -

I go into the majority of conversations hoping to be proven wrong or given alternative theories. A differential diagnosis of sorts. -
