  1. I think you missed the context of the conversation. This started as talking about a massive cutback lane he had and didn’t take. It wasn’t an attack on Singletary, but rather an example of plays he does miss at times. Of course not. And im not saying Singletary is no good either.
  2. Huh? The photo is of a clear cutback lane (that several other posters saw as well), and all it would have taken is Singletary making 1 guy miss. If you can’t make 1 guy miss, then you’re not an NFL quality running back.
  3. To possibly answer your question of why they do it - Good running backs and proper positioning can make defenses pay when they overload a side. One cutback and they’re gone. Example;
  4. There is a reason why they are backups. Need the RB’s to block better as well.
  5. If your running back can’t beat a DE on a cut back then you don’t have a running back. You have a fullback. Do you realize that you basically just said: “Jee he had to beat 1 defender. If he has a single defender near him, then he just has to fall down for 2 yards”? If he can’t beat this guy one on one then we have serious RB issues. Most players dream of one on ones like this.
  6. Not sure what you mean. Being average in YAC (his was 2.3 and the mean of the league was 2.2) does not mean that he isn’t missing opportunities for longer plays. Did you look at the photo in the tweet I posted?
  7. Yes im aware… I posted All-22 photos a few pages ago. It’s extremely rare what Hyde did. The reason the Hyde INT was so impressive is because he got there that fast. The catch itself wasn’t incredibly difficult - it was an over the shoulder grab. Getting there was the true feat.
  8. Speed always wins when you don’t scheme properly. It was a poor defensive call. 9 of 11 defenders in front of the sticks and 3 of those 9 covering empty field. There wasn’t 2 safeties in the area. One was on one side of the field and one was on the other. It’s a lot to ask the far side safety to get to the other side in time. That’s why what Hyde did in the playoffs against NE was so impressive - it’s rare. So we essentially called a play where if ANY deep routes are ran, it would be 1 on 1 against a backup safety. Bad idea (as we found out the hard way).
  9. Running Back could use an upgrade. The line looks worse than it is because the RB’s are not taking the opportunities available to them. Barkley cuts this back and races the safety for a TD.
  10. We weren’t talking about Edmunds covering Waddle 50 yards downfield. We were talking about the middle of the field where the poster thought Hill was. About 15 yards or so. Yes he was looking at Waddle because the Dolphins put him in conflict due to the poor play design. But he wasn’t in the middle of the field. No where close to it. He ran a corner right near the sideline. I said post before because I was thinking about Waddle. Taron and Edmunds were in the middle and Hill was never close to them. This left Waddle 1 on 1 with our backup safety. The problem with this play call is that it’s so easily beatable. If the Dolphins call ANY deep shot, we lose the down. McD/Frazier must have been betting on all short routes. .
  11. I don’t know how he didn’t see it. It’s like he plays with horse blinders on, not allowing him to see anything but straight in front of him.
  12. I would love that. There was a play during the Miami game where Singletary could have cut outside for a HUGE gain (like 40+ yards). Instead he ran into the tackles butt. Barkley scores on that play.
  13. I think you misunderstood my post. In reality, the play call was poor regardless of what the Dolphins called. You should never have a defensive play call on 3rd and 20+ that is a guaranteed huge gain if a deep route is called. The defensive play they dialed up only works if the opponent doesn’t send a deep route or if you have an elite safety that can recognize and get into good leverage very quickly. Considering that Hyde and Poyer were out, that play never should have been run in that situation.
  14. Sometimes I think Cover1 just overthinks things. The 3rd and 22 was just a really bad play call for what the Dolphins dialed up. Look at the photo below. The bottom half of the field has 0 Dolphins in it, yet 3 Bills defenders (red circles). They’re literally covering empty field. The middle of the field has 2 Bills defenders on 1 Dolphin (yellow circle). Then you have a safety and CB in conflict between Hill running a post and the Dolphin in the flat. And that leaves 1 on 1 against a backup safety for Waddle on the post. Every Bills defender except for the safety played (much) in front of the 1st down marker. On 3rd and 22, there should never be a situation where numerous defenders are doing literally nothing.
  15. To be fair, some of Marv’s own coaches want him fired lol. To not get at least 1 Super Bowl victory with the talent on those rosters is a shame.
  16. I think it was definitely his fault. He has to know that it takes far longer to run 25 yards than 5 yards.
  17. Yeah Mckenzie could have just ran forward for a few yards and went down. He never should have tried for the boundary. If he could make it to this red circle (dive if you have to), then that’s a 60 yard field goal.
  18. Watch just the refs in the clip. They dont even look to see if he holds the ball after 2 feet down. They don’t look to see him fall. They see 2 feet down and immediately signal TD. Try not to let it bother you. A lot of posters do not want to have a conversation - they simply want to see their opinion come out of your mouth. And when it doesnt… insults.
  19. 1972. Best way to remember is 36x2 = 72.
  20. I typically wouldn’t wish Gout on anyone, but this man may be an exception.
  21. I don’t agree that it was a backhanded slap at Edmunds. But even if it were, why does it matter? Why does someone having a difference of opinion from your own a problem? It seems that you are lumping all posters that you find “negative” together. That’s not fair. As for me, here are the topics of every thread I have ever started - Weather forecast thread for Patriots game - Tweet from Josh Allen - Schedule makers gave us an advantage - AFC East Power Rankings - Josh Allen hitting a home run - Funny Josh Allen video - Internet rumor about Bills being concerned about Elam - Poll about who will win 1st game of season - Allen was amazing despite what coverage Rams showed him - Coin tosses contributed to KC loss - Cool Bills/Beatles photo - Study on ACL injuries and whether players are the same after (Tre White) - Could Aaron Donald miss Week 1 due to helmet swinging? - What Daboll did in the final seconds of Giants game - Titans player says PFF raises grades if players pay them - Video of Dolphins fans saying they want to face the Bills - The short yardage conundrum - Are the Bills too conservative about injuries? - Cole Beasleys Buffalo home is for sale - Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme - Thread talking about how I was sad we lost to the Chiefs and the season being over - Does part of you miss losing (poorly worded… do you miss the excitement of close games, checking the playoff calculator, draft stuff, etc) - Game theory and situational game awareness and how it is our achilles heal - McDermotts defensive timeouts are not working How many of those are actually “negative”? 20%? 30% at most? I think you pay attention to the negative threads more-so than the positive or neutral threads and assign far too much weight to them. I think if you look at the list above you can see that i’m a fairly balanced poster. I have threads where critique the team. Threads where I celebrate the team. Threads where I mourn the team. What you see as negativity is just another posters opinion. I’m not insulting anyone or being rude or doing anything other than talking about football. But because sometimes my thoughts on the game are different than yours, for some reason that makes you and others very upset. Im not sure i’ll ever understand that. You too. And I do care. Or else I wouldn’t have responded.
  22. I didn’t realize you viewed my posting as spewing. If the staff doesn’t want me on this forum I will go quietly into the night.
