  1. Just FYI, Greg Tompsett has absolutely no idea what he is talking about half the time. I ran the math 2 months ago and determined the Bills would be -$50M over the cap (before any moves). I pointed out to Greg that his numbers were vastly wrong (he was at -$26M). He argued with me for quite a while, stating OTC was always right, you're an idiot, yada yada. Guess what happened? Last week OTC updated their projects to.... I didnt even notice at first, but another tweeter who saw the argument bumped my tweet that was correcting him a couple months ago and pointed out that I was right. Greg must have saw that he screwed up so he blocked me lol. Long story short - take what Greg says with a GIGANTIC grain of salt.
  2. Right. That's exactly what many of us are responding to. His tendency to never give a straightforward positive answer. People aren't perfect. Diggs isn't either. You don't have to dig (no pun intended) so hard to defend him (but I admit its funnier and makes for better conversation when you do). Its much easier (and better) to give a short, positive answer than it is to give answers like "I dont know" and "I'll be ready wherever it goes" in response to someone asking if you will be with your team next year. 98% of NFL players are able to do this just fine. Josh Allen gets asked absolutely ridiculous questions all season and he answers them like a pro. At one point a reporter straight up told him "this offense doesnt look like its good enough to win a Super Bowl". Allen took it in stride and just responded "okay".
  3. Well said. This is what I have been attempting to articulate. It is not difficult to give the right answer. It’s actually much more difficult to talk cryptically than it is to say what you said above. Or put a different way. Does ANYONE on this forum think Josh Allen would answer a reporters question about being in Buffalo with an answer of “I don’t know. I don’t control the money and all that.” ZERO chance.
  4. Yes and no. The full interview has many questions, spanning several topics. So obviously his answers vary depending on the topic. All of the answers you mentioned are not in response to the question of whether he thinks he will be back in Buffalo, so you are misrepresenting the interview a bit. Some questions are about the plays he wants back (as you mentioned the dropped passes), and another question is about his relationship with Josh (which he responds by not actually answering but instead talking about money and contracts which is odd because you should probably give a positive answer considering he is your friend and QB), and another question elicits the response about how he gets the same questions over and over (as you mention). But no - it’s not like all these answers were in response to the question of whether he thinks he will be in Buffalo next year. His initial response to that was “I don’t know”. You’re combining an entire interview of responses into one answer when it was actually several topics, and his opinion changed depending on the topic (which makes sense). Personally I think it’s interesting seeing the distribution of responses - on one side there is the media that definitely makes too much of it. Then on the other side there are fans like you that want to completely dismiss it all as absolutely nothing. I attempt to find the middle ground (sometimes failing but the middle is often where the truth lay). In my life experience it seems that so many find that middle ground impossible to look at. Honestly its not that hard to give a positive answer that leaves the media with nothing to grasp onto. 98% of NFL players figure it out. Diggs is smart. He could do it to if he wanted to. As others said, maybe it’s just a game to him and he likes messing with the media but it’s not really a game that benefits him (or the team) so I wish he just wouldn’t.
  5. I did. In fact I watched ALL of his interviews from the Pro Bowl because i’m a big Diggs fan. I think it’s possible that you are right about this. And if so, he brings some of the media negativity upon himself by doing this.
  6. “Yes I do think i’ll be back. We have unfinished business.” It’s really not that hard. Even if he ended up being wrong and the team traded/cut him, who would ever hold it against him for saying he’ll be back to win a championship? Literally nobody. Ever. I love Diggs but this is one area that he could get better with. Or maybe he does it on purpose just to get the media riled up 🤷🏻‍♂️. Who knows.
  7. Good point. And it’s for this same reason that we can’t restructure him. It would just add more of his money to next year. I love Diggs. He is my 2nd favorite player (behind Josh). But he does bring some of the media attention upon himself. Instead of giving a cryptic response, a simple “I look forward to being a Bill next year” would take all the power out of the medias hands. But instead of doing that, he does the cryptic stuff. Maybe it’s just fun for him.
  8. A couple of these quotes have been sprinkled in various threads, but this probably deserves it’s own thread since the media will run with these. I don’t know if he’s doing it on purpose, or if he doesn’t realize how it comes off, but his cryptic comments definitely stir things up.
  9. So are the jokes in this thread.
  10. Why does he always have to talk so cryptically? Diggs was then asked if he’s prepared to move forward with the Bills. He replied that he will be “ready to go no matter which way it goes.” Do you want to be here or not? Just answer yes or no! 😂
  11. Statistically, it gets a lot harder the deeper into your prime you go. Which is why many of us are urgent to get Allen to the SB. In the past 30 years, only 2 QB's not named Brady/Manning have won a Super Bowl over 30 years of age. That was Drew Brees (15 years ago), Brad Johnson (22 years ago) and John Elway (26 years ago).
  12. A lot. Allen has as many playoff wins in 6 years of playing as Rivers had in 17 years. Allen also has more playoff TD's in 6 years of playing as Rivers had in 17 years.
  13. You can't look at stats. Brady played the first half of his career in a different era. For example, the leading passer in 2002 had 28 TD's. The leader passer in 2022 had 41 TD's. Big difference. Stats aside, if the game is on the line and I have to choose 1 QB to lead a game-winning drive... I'm picking Brady every time. 1) Brady is simply cold as ice in game winning situations. 2) Mahomes is a Jalen Hurts idiotic fumble away from being 1-2 in the Super Bowl. 3) Brady won those first 3 Super Bowls with a very mediocre WR room. He never had a Tyreek Hill or Travis Kelce in those first 3 SB wins. Mahomes CAN pass Brady at some point. But he is not there yet. Not even close actually.
  14. Fangio did a very good job in Miami. But you have to drill down past base statistics to see it. If you're lazy and just click on NFL.com stats, you will miss the improvement. I am thankful that he is no longer there.
  15. Sigh. Yep. Nailed it. After 13 seconds, I was heartbroken... but I was also convinced that we were the best team in the NFL and a coin toss decided our fate. I was ready for the team to tear through the NFL the following year. There was massive amounts of hope. This year... it's tough. We have an old roster, a lot of starters that are free agents, very little cap room, and three straight divisional round losses. Harder to dig deep for that hope right now.
  16. If Diggs catches that ball, we have it near the 20 yard line. Even after our clock-eating drive, we still didn’t get it as far as we would have been had Diggs caught it and stumbled for a couple yards. With Bass being shaky, it’s hard to imagine those extra yards not mattering. That being said it’s likely all moot because I have 0 faith that we would have stopped KC from getting a game winning field goal. Had we scored a TD, I honestly think we win. Then again, that would require Bass to make the extra point. Yikes.
  17. Wasn't there another TD drop in the endzone? Or was that against Pitt? It was in the corner of the endzone .
  18. It’s less “hit the opposing QB a lot” than it is “hit him no matter what and just accept that you will get a ton of flags”. But as others mentioned, the flaw in this is that you open your QB up to retaliation of the same treatment. Yes, exactly.
  19. This is an excellent point that I hadn’t considered. And that retaliation is likely exactly what would happen. Dang. Ok I can hang my Defensive Coordinator hat up for the off-season now 😂
  20. Cheating garnered the Patriots a trophy case that is stuffed with Lombardi’s. That’s a good thought. I’ll have to check the wording on that rule.
  21. I was thinking about what Marshawn Lynch said on 60 Minute sports a while back. He said: "That's when it just clicked in my mind, that if you just run through somebody's face, a lot of people ain't going to be able to take that over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again." I loved the quote. And it got to thinking - why don't teams use this approach in the playoffs, with the opposing QB? Scenario: Say we are playing Mahomes or Burrow in the playoffs, and our players are told that every time you're anywhere near him, you pummel him. Whether he threw the ball out of bounds, or to a receiver, or even just handed it off. Tackle him. Just consistently bring the guy down. Play after play after play after play - Like Marshawn said about running. To be clear i'm not advocating to intentionally injure. This is more of a psychological game. Sure, you will get some roughing-the-passer flags, but I hypothesize that the in-game damage to that players psyche may be worth it. A few other factors: 1) In the playoffs, refs tend to swallow their whistle. But even when they call a big penalty, they are reluctant to do it twice. Or three times. Or four times. Or five times. A team could play off this fact and repeatedly pummel the opposing QB, forcing the ref to repeatedly throw the flag. 2) Even if the refs do throw the flag 4 or 5 times, I think i'm willing to give an opponent a couple easy trips down the field to put some wear and tear on the mind and body of the opponents best player. And keep in mind, roughing-the-passer flags do NOT count toward the two personal fouls for ejection rule. So players could do it over and over and the only penalty is 15 yards. Maybe there is another rule I'm unaware of? Or maybe they could eject someone for unsportsmanlike conduct after a bunch of them? Some may say it's low brow. Classless. Etc. I say people don't remember the penalties - they just remember the victories.
  22. This MUST be it. And it's a ballsy move. This is the second year in a row he has done this.
  23. I can’t even begin to understand that desire. This is like rooting for Marino. Just gross. Go 49ers.
  24. Yeah, I really don’t think the NFL cares enough about a pop-star to rig the entire league in the Chiefs favor. There are 31 other billionaires that wouldn’t be happy with that. And for many of them ego > money.
  25. You’ve mentioned this before but you’ve never told us how you know it for a stone cold fact. Do you personally know Leslie?
