That, of course, depends on what the Chiefs do over their remaining games. Their toughest opponents remaining are the Chargers, Steelers and Texans. The toughest games for the Bills ahead are the 49ers and Detroit Lions. It won't be a piece of cake for the Chiefs to run the table, but I don't expect them to lose more than one additional game. If they do manage a record of 15-2, that forces Buffalo to run the table (Buffalo has the head to head tie-breaker). With Detroit in particular, that is a tall order, though not impossible. Buffalo versus Detroit could well be a Super Bowl preview.

I was just interested by the mathematics, that it is easier right now for the Bills to win the division than to get a wild card berth

Buffalo Rumblings has an interesting article on playoff numbers for the Bills: The Bills and the Playoffs The article points out what we all know, that the Bills are close to clinching the division. Two wins by Buffalo, two losses by Miami or a win and a loss by each would do it. Miami is second place in the division with 4 wins and 6 losses. By winning out, they can get to eleven wins, but Buffalo owns the first tie breaker over them (head to head). New England and the Jets have 3 wins and 8 losses. If one of them could win out, they can only tie Buffalo's record of 9 wins. If Buffalo takes care of things with respect to Miami, The Jets and Cheatriots are history too. Do you wonder if the Bills could win a wild card berth? It would be difficult. If Buffalo loses out, 9 wins might do it, but it's not likely. If Buffalo win's just one more game, I think they could sill win a wild card spot, though as I read the article, I don't think it agrees. Clearly, it's much easier at this point to win the division than win a wild card spot.

11/17/24 Game 11 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Chiefs post game Thread

I'm thrilled that Allen scored the rushing touchdown,, but if he had gotten a first down without scoring, the Bills would still have been in good shape as they would have been able to run a fair amount of the remaining time off the clock. -

He came back in after missing a bit of time to get his ankle taped up. He'll be fine in a couple weeks. -

Not at all. One member of our adult class is 93. Next Sunday, I'll be teaching. -

My Sunday School teacher left right after class today. Why? He works as a sideline photographer at Bills home games for USA Today. Lucky guy. He also does Syracuse home games. -

Corrected: dang that's a college basketball score right there! -
I think he was over drafted. Easy to say, I know, since he never really panned out for NE. Though fast, he was not generally regarded that highly in the pre-draft process. Kick the tires? Yeah sure, but don't expect the next Tyreek Hill.

Coincidently, I am also 72. From the sounds of it, your COPD has progressed further than mine. I can handle more than one candle at a time. My wife and I have not put the same number of candles as our age on the cake in decades. We use number candles now. My primary care doctor prescribed a drug for me a couple years ago. He also prescribed a second one in case the first was too expensive. The first one had a copay over $400 and the second just under $400. My medicare advantage plan is with one of the highest rated companies out there. When I see the pulminologist, I'm going to ask if they can help me look for a drug option that is more reasonable. I'm also going to ask if they will test for A1AtD, a somewhat rare genetic condition results in a deficiency of a certain protein. Persons who have this deficiency often develop emphysema with no apparent environmental reason. I happen to be a life-long passionate non-smoker. If I happen to have this deficiency, there is another treatment available to supplement the protein level in my body, which might halt or slow the progress of the disease. That is my best case scenario. -
If Buffalo can come out of the KC game with a win sans (French for "without") Kincaid. they are set up for the last part of the season. The Bills will go into December incredibly healthy for week 13 of the season. I think Milano is going to be healthy, as will Coleman and Kincaid. The players who are playing though nicked up are all going to be healthy. San Francisco will be a tough opponent, but I like the Bills' chances with a healthy roster.

I learned I had COPD (emphysema) at the same time I was diagnosed with lung cancer. It was almost 8 years ago that I lost the lower lobe of my right lung to surgery. Emphysema is relentless. I'm trying to lose some weight. That will help. I'm scheduled to visit a pulminologist in December, hoping that he can prescribe a medication that can improve my breathing without costing me a $400 copay every time I get a prescription. Otherwise, the only way I can get significant relief is a lung transplant. -

Unless I get handicap tags for my car, I'm afraid my in person attendance days are over. Just too much walking. Neither my legs nor my lungs will take it any more. -
The MVP Race is 3 Players & Why they Can Win
BigAl2526 replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Mahomes is probably out of the running given that he's been having a sub-par year and most credit the KC defense with their unbeaten record this season. I agree that Jackson and Henry are probably Josh Allen's main competition, but there may be some dark horses like Jayden Daniels of Washington -
the Daboll/Schoen regime - on the brink, it seems
BigAl2526 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
The success/failure of a GM/coaching regime is probably about 90% connected to making the right decision about quarterbacks. Schoen and Daboll made the wrong decision on Daniel Jones and it's likely going to cost both of them their jobs. Beane and McDermott have made right decisions about Josh Allen, both in selecting him and developing him, and are likely entrenched with the Bills for the better part of the next decade. -

Buffalo played a defensive tackle, DeForrest Buckner, on Sunday who is very similar to Chris Jones. I think they handled it pretty well. -
This was suppose to be a rebuild year

I think the Bills management and coaches had a higher opinion of what the team could do this season than those outside of OBD, especially compared to national pundits. -
Does Jerry Jones fire McCarthy on Monday? The GM too?

You're right. Jerry does have a VP of Player Personnel he could fire as a handy scape goat. -
Week 11 - Chiefs at Bills Game Week Thread
BigAl2526 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is good news for Buffalo on several fronts when KC comes to town next Sunday. One, Buffalo faced a team today that has a defensive line that resembles KC's in some ways. In particular, DeForrest Bruckner is about as close as you'll find to a clone of Chris Jones as you'll find in the league. Second, Buffalo's major weakness on defense is big time running backs. KC is not weak at RB. Kareem Hunt is a proven winner who can get tough yards and catch passes, but he's not the physical freak with size to truck linebackers like Derrick Henry or speed to outrun DBs like Jonathon Taylor possesses. Buffalo should be OK with their 4-2-5 personnel package defending the run. Hopefully Cooper will be back for KC though it sounds like Coleman is going to miss another week. Also, hopefully, Kincaid's injury doesn't keep him out of the KC game. -
Does Jerry Jones fire McCarthy on Monday? The GM too?
BigAl2526 replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would not be at all surprised if McCarthy is fired. The GM could be, but he is mostly a figurehead IMO. Jerry Jones makes most of the big personnel decisions. That means the team is likely to remain dysfunctional regardless of who is the coach and GM.
